  • Great idea! I will definitely give this a try.

  • WOW.. YOUR A GENIUS

  • you need to use a base coat other wise the nail polish will stain your nails.I can't believe she didn't say anything.

  • when i go to the salon, thats how they do my french mani (:

  • what's the brand of the brush and where did you get it? awesome job gorgeous!

  • My brushes are just generic brands. You can get them at Target, Walmart, etc.

  • i really wanna try this but i have a mac eyeshadow brush with nice curve but am afraid that dipping it in acetone will ruin it ??

    doesn't acetone ruin makeup brushes??

  • you can buy a great contour brush from any art supply store that can achieve the same results without spending a fortune. Acetone will destroy the brush. Plus, you don't want that brush on your eye after it's been exposed to acetone.

  • Hello - I don't know for sure over a long period of time but a few times won't hurt it. I've used my good makeup brushes before with the acetone and its fine.

  • I created a YouTube account just so I could say how awesome this method is! I have been trying french manicures for a couple of years. Usually I end up frustrated. I just did this method on my toes and it's AMAZING! I worried about the white running on the rest of the nail but that never happened. I used acetone (Target) and an eyeshadow brush. Honestly the best french manicure I've ever seen, including those done by professionals! And it was soooo easy!

  • Thank you! Glad I can help.

  • Great tip misha

i tried doing it with a qtip

but it didnt work as well as a brush

i just have 2 questions for you..what kind of brush should i get? and what nail polish brands do you recommend for no chipping ??

thanks in advance and Great tutorial!!

  • Never use a Qtip to contour your nails.

Aside from not having any flexibility, lint from the Qtip will also stick to your nails. Use any small, thin paint or make-up brush that has a nice arch/curve top. Professionals use the brand O.P.I - I use Orly and Sally Hansen. I recommend spending at least $3-5 for a decent brand so it lasts longer. Have fun!

  • thats great!!! thanks for posting!!!!!!! it really helped.

  • what happens if u get acetone on your FINGER misha?

  • wow thank you soo much

i used sally hansen nail polish remover instead of acetone and it still worked!

    wow :))

i had been looking for an easy way to do this for so long before i saw this!

my nails look great even though they're short! :) wow

    thanks again :)

  • wow this is the most useful french manicure video i've seen

  • ohhhhhh...splendido e facile:-)

  • Thank you for a great and helpful video. Sure beats the expensive salon prices. Happy Holidays.

  • Do you wait for the white nail polish to dry before you put the brush on it? I tried it last night and the nail polish didn't come off the nail like your's did

    BTW: Thanks for the tutorial

  • wow i love this video! very helpful! i can't wait to try it! great job!!! keep the videos going!!!

  • Thank you so much for this tutorial! I m really curious to try it! I just need to find a brush I wish to sacrify. Apparantly I've already got aceton :)

  • is it just acetone or nail polish with acetone what isnt called

  • it's 100% acetone and u can find it at Target, Sally's Beauty Supply or any beauty supply store.

  • hey, what kind acetone do u need and where can u get

  • Just an ordinary small kitchen sauce dish. You can probably find something similar in places like Crate & Barrel, Pier 1 or kitchen section in stores like Target, Walmart even a 99cent store in your area.

  • where did u get that dish

  • wow that was really good..but the acetone does it work better than nail polish remover or do they work the same...and can you use nail polish remover instead of acetone?

  • hey you said acetone will burn through things yet you use it on your hands =S

  • There are natural and chemically made Acetone. While it is not harmful on human skin contact, it will disolve on wood, fabric, plastic surfaces. The human body actually produces small amounts of acetone naturally. Learn more about it on Wikipedia if you have concerns.

  • Regular nail polish does not have the chemical necessary to desolve the white polish unlike 100% Acetone.

  • yeah its not going to like burn ur finger off...obviously its ok for alittle to get on ur hands..duhh

  • do you need long nails to do this please tel me.

  • No, you don't need long nails. The white tip will give the illusion of having long nails. Shorter nails works best. Also remember to keep the tip of your nails straight instead of curved or pointed. Have fun.

  • Oh great! Can you tell me about the brush to use with it?? thanks

  • That was a great video. I struggle to do a french tip all the time. This is even better than using the sticker guides which always smudge. Thanks

  • Thank you very much I will try it.

  • really good vid, thank's lot

can you tell me what is the mark of you white polish, it look so easy to put, for myself i can past hours it not the same everywhere and it doesn't dry at all, i use the kit french manicure "bourgeois de paris"

thank's again i didn't think eather to use a pincel for clean, really good idea !!

  • cool

    thanks

  • I use the brand ORLY but it does streak from time to time. The trick is to apply thin coats, one at a time and fan it if necessary.

  • thanks alot misha

    you're the best

  • loved it !!! but y cant we use regular nail polish (instead of the acetone)???????

  • wow you're really fast w/ doing your nails! :)

  • Good vid
