Your design does't use a laminated rotor. This way, the iron vanes are acting as a short-circuited coil, reducing severely the efficiency of the generator. Laminted and isolated iron reduces significantly this effect.
Note that if you are supplying CC to the rotor just to make it a turning magnet with wounded stator (like a typical alternator) your rotor wold be ok.

Witout a gearing system you will never get the generator up to 1000 rpm unless you use it on the lathe. So what good is it?
