i think that's the hardest part for people in relating to god - prayer.. they don't know how to talk to him. it's not the use of superfluous words, but just TALKING. most people don't know or really care to know how to talk to each other - how much more important is it to talk to GOD? and yet we see and hear people on mobile phones today talking.. about nothing, just to be talking. time to put down the mobile phone and pick up the horn to the lord.
I like Keith Green a lot. He had a deep passion for Jesus Christ and spreading the gospel as well as helping the homeless and doing what Jesus commanded us to do. I know that he is in Heaven! Praise Jesus Christ for his testimony.
I like how before powerpoint slides and overheads and video projectors guys like Keith had to teach you the song in between singing one verse to the next.
when I felt down and alone I would put on Keith's music it was like God speaking through his music and it kept me going
I was blessed to see him in concert blessed by God although Keith had passed on, his music I know has helped many through their low points in their lives his passion to preach of Jesus without making excuses telling people the truth even if it hit a nerve I thank the Lord everyday
I was 19 at the time of this video (1977). I was in the audience and had met Keith & Melody there. His concerts were incredible! Keith's music changed my life...it was an absolute pivotal point in my Christian walk.
This is the ultimate prayer for any believer! What an anointing of the Spirit he had...so sad this prophet was taken from us so young...yet as Melody so gracefully pointed out...lest a grain of wheat fall to the ground, it is unable to bear fruit. Keith has born much fruit...
I think Keith and Jim Elliott, who died two decades earlier, were men of uncommon passion and devotion, who died far too young (in our human reasoning).
When I read Jim Elliott's devotional or hear Keith sing/pray/preach, it leaves me ashamed at the shallowness of my own faith.
Keith and Jim continue to cast such great shadows many years after their deaths. They were short-lived flames that burned with white hot intensity, all to the glory of God and Christ.
I agree with you about Dennis. He is a very close friend of mine and he is the real deal! Same fire as was in Keith plus the added Grace-gift of being able to minister sooo deeply to the hurting.
I saw Keith at the Long Beach Arena in the early 80's. He didn't charge a dime for admission, many, many people were changed that night and thousands attended. I pray our music ministers of today would dare to follow in Keith's footsteps.
I was 8yrs old when I saw Keith in Long Beach. We sat above the main floor to the right. The crowd began shouting, "We love Jesus, yes we do!" And that was before the concert. Just a piano & Keith. His passion & love for the Lord as he sang and shared moved me. What I remember most: during the altar call, a young man in a wheelchair who couldn't navigate through the crowd. He used the arm rests of his wheelchair to "stand up" & recieve Jesus. All these years later, I'm still blessed & amazed.

how can a man so gifted be so dumb about overloading a plane with too many people?

I am blessed to have gotten to see Keith play in St. Louis when I was a kid.
And I remember crying when I found out he had passed.

Keith was so annointed. He was a modern day psalmist. I feel that Dennis Jernigan is in that same category. Keith's heart was so pure.
