Jordan Rudess..........thank you so much for posting this! It is absolutely amazing work, and gave me immense peace of mind.....it's so beautiful and calming. Thank you for being a stunning musician and for posting parts of your musical self like this for us all to see :)
It's weird how this doesn't have more views. I mean, here we have the greatest keyboard player of all time improvising a seven minute piece of pure awesome, and it only has 7k views.
I lol'd at the last silent chord. PERFECT. This might be my favorite improv by you, though it's hard to compete with the dozens that have impacted me in the past.
lovely mood, lovely piano. Thanks for posting. Calls to mind the story of Monk's solo carried out with the hands frozen over the keys, ready to play. And either the bassist or the drummer elated because: "think what's going on in his head!" Couldn't catch all the lyrics, but wish I could. Again, thanks.
Thanks Jordan for sharing this with us. Was incredible to watch you play with such honesty and integrity, in such a private setting. I hope you do more like this in the future.
Jordan they say music comes from the soul of the player... Your´s is a beautiful, powerful soul. I feel transported when I hear this improvisation I can imagine all sorts of beautiful landscapes mostly in blue when I hear you play this. And you made me cry at 7:00! and I´m a tough guy!! hehe.
Thanks a lot for sharing this with us DT fans (and with everyone in general).
And I really enjoyed filling the gaps in the song, thank you for that as well...
u r not only an amazin player, but tru ur videos we can all see wat an open, friendly and quailty person you are. down to earth. :D keep up the amazin work u god dam LEGEND
A good musician is not only a virtuoso. Jordan is a Great High Quality Musician not only for his wonderful technique, but for his creativity and the work he has done with the synthesizer world, his new music is different from what he already made in the past . Personally i think he is the best keyboardist nowadays, if you see the other guys from other bands.
The silent note in the end was a perfect touch after such a beautiful outro, everyone can insert a chord they see... or hear fit in there. Jolly good I say!
Using your eyes to listen to music. That's too clever JR... I really enjoyed this piece. I really love notes on a Dream and I would really love to hear an all original grand piano album. *cough*
you know what would be a good techniqe? triple spot playing, using 2 hands to form the bass chord, then using one hand to do the treble, going up and down the treble part lol. jordan would do good in that field of course
Dream Theater needs to let you have your own song, i mean this is incredibly amazing. It makes me want to play piano, even though i have no idea how to. I havent heard a piano piece from DT since "Wait for sleep." and id love to hear a new one.
Was feeling down today and this has made me feel better. Behold, the power of music! I honestly thank you from the bottom of my musically aspiring heart, Jordan. I'm truly grateful to know such talent as yours.
wow, i loved the tense opening style, and i really loved the harmonic progressions at the end, very "Tear Before the Rain" of you. Absolutely wonderful. Even your voice has a unique tone that fits perfectly with the style.
Actually, if you stay with him for a month, it just becomes standard! People shouldn't listen to so much awesomeness, everything will seem boring as hell afterwards.
you should try the 12 tone method (i think thats what its called). where you play all 12 notes, and don't repeat one until you've played the other 11. then again, i'm sure you already have done that, but i'd love to hear what you'd do with it!
i love you jordan
