  • ARIRANG IS NOT CHINESE. IT IS NOT ONLY CHOJONJOK'S EITHER. IT IS UNIQUE, KOREAN NATIONAL FOLK SONG. So, it is dare to say that Arirang is Chosonjoks' in China. They do not have any right at all to own Arirang unless China gets a permission from Korea. And, the woman in the video even cannot make proper pronunciation of lyrics. China is just being stubborn and what it says about owning Arirang doesn't make sense at all. Unreasonable.

  • WTF ARIRANG IS A KOREAN FOLK TRADITIONAL SONG NOT CHINESE! HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Unfortunately, South Koreans have been educated in such a way that they have regular nightmares of turning into Chinese people. Makes you wonder what sort of education curriculum they have there. Hopefully, Koreans as a whole find their inner peace one day and start living in harmony w/ their East Asian neighbors.

  • @Kyungilnam

Chinese government never said, including in this video, that arirang is Chinese (as in Han Chinese). At the beginning of the video, it says clearly in Chinese (vertical orientation) "Arirang, Ethnic Korean Song".

  • why cant we just calm down and just appreciate the music?

  • funny to see ppl furiously argure everytime i come back. I really hate this kinda ugly argue coz i have lots korean friends2 and i dont want this nasty comments ruin my good impression abt korea.

  • what's wrong if the korean ethnic groups in China keep their own culture? there are millions of koreans living in JiLin province of China. Why can't they sing their own ethnic songs? indeed, Fxxking south koreans always want to steal Chinese history.

  • @tiezi00 do not be stupid. korean people never said that korean-chinese should not sing korean songs. they simply said, chinese government should not steal korean songs and register it as chinese song.

there are lots of chinese-korean in korea. can korean government register chinese culture as her own?

  • @KYUNGILNAM sadly what i say is historically right while your claim turns out to be stupid. also it's stupid to start every one of your reply with "do not be stupid". Dont waste time here n go read some books.

  • @KYUNGILNAM Read the Chinese Title, if you don't understand Chinese, I can translate to you, the title is "China Korean ethnic group folk song Arirang". It is NOT Chinese government register this song, understand?

  • @tiezi00 do not be imperialistic.have a common sense.

  • @tiezi00 a person like you is not helpful at all for china.

  • @tiezi00

Exactly. I think in the minds of SK people, once a Korean leaves SK, they must never show their culture to non-Koreans in their adopted countries, especially w/ regard to Chinese. This shows a particular lack of inner peace and regular emotional conflict. Guess it will take some time for Koreans as a whole to recover from being a Chinese tributary and then a wholesale Japanese colony.

  • @Bournetolive and what's wrong with taking our time with recovering "from being a Chinese tributary and then a wholesale Japanese colony"? Korea was subject to China for centuries and Japanese imperialism is such a recent history. Of course it's gonna take time to recover.

  • @Skriskysel

Look, my apologies if my previous statement offended you, but I was just stating my observations. So, how about a deal - don't make fun of Chinese when we bring up trauma due to Opium War and Japanese atrocities, and we won't make fun of what you Koreans went through. Let's respect each others' right to claim victimhood, in other words.

  • wtf...... Arirang is from korea

    fking chinks steal all

    GET A LIFE FKING CHINK

  • 从什么时候这个韩国传统的歌是中国朝鲜族的?这个就是原来韩国的呀。

  • beautiful~ i love korean ..and these kind of songs always sound so ...old.

  • This is fucking lie

    Fuckin Chinese Government

  • This is so beautiful, I never thought this song can become my favorite song

  • wow guys, China isnt claiming this song as their own. Ethnic Koreans are 1 of the 56 ethnicities in China, and btw, they are accorded quite a lot of privileges and benefits. This girl here is one of them who has been living in China for generations.

  • @lordangelic What exactly are they trying to do?

  • 这个比那个组合的阿里郎好听多了,但是比传统的唱法还是差一些。

  • @finitewu1 This is not just a little different but completely different. Even sounds like Chinese music.

  • Do you people have anything better to do than argue about this?

  • my hope is that chinese government should stop registering korean cultural heritage as her own. it is very simple.

  • @KYUNGILNAM If this is true then I fully understand. But youtube is not the right place.

  • also chinese has been significantly influenced by western culture including capitalism.

  • chinese communism is not chinese. it was originated from marx.

  • @KYUNGILNAM True, but I don't see how this is related. Chinese never claimed that communism is a Chinese-culture thing

  • @smkyy that is my point. china has been influenced by foreign culture. so do not be so proud or self-sufficient.

  • @KYUNGILNAM such an imperiastic attitude is not good for chinese future. it evokes resentment, anger and the feeling of revenge.

  • @KYUNGILNAM I must say that the term imperialism is not quite appropriate here. I don't know how Korean media has covered the whole registering thing, but first of all you have to realize that imperialists force culture on other people instead of adding other culture's practices and art to a list.

  • @smkyy chinese government does not consider koreans' view. instead, chinese goverment register other people's culture as her own. it is an imperiastic attitude.

  • @smkyy western imperiastic power stole lots of chinese cultural artifacts. now imperiastic china seeks to steal other cultural heritage. history repeats.

  • @KYUNGILNAM The steal the physical artifacts for money. They do not create a list and put Chinese songs and festivals on it...

  • @smkyy are you a teen? imperialim not only steal other people's artifacts but also manipulates other people's culture and history. please study more.

  • @KYUNGILNAM You're still off-topic. The fact that I'm a teen or if i'm familiar with imperialism has nothing to do with the discussion.

You added "manipulating other people's culture" to the definitin of imperialism. But still, how is registering Korean cultural practices "manipulating other people's culture and history"?

  • @smkyy in order to discuss imperialism or something, please study "postcolonialism" first. ok?

  • @KYUNGILNAM The point of listing the intangible cultural heritages is to protect and and preserve the heritages. In the case of Arirang, putting it on the list simply means supporting the Koreans minority in China to fully practice their own culture. If some of Koreans feel that the Chinese government is trying to claim Korean culture or even be imperialistic, I'd say it's your own call but it's definitely not surprising since Korean's hardly recognize or welcome Chinese Koreans.

  • @KYUNGILNAM it seems to me that you do not know what is happening. and jumped into the discussion in order to defend chinenese government.

i already experienced such chinese people. please reseach more before discussing someting.

    good luck.

  • @KYUNGILNAM Sadly my research wouldn't be based upon Korean media nor youtube posts. And if you're truly upset with what the Chinese goverenment has done, go to somewhere else.

  • secondly, your claim for self-sufficient chinese culture is not a fact. when chinese were self-suffiecient, the empire was collapsed. you should study chinese history.

  • @KYUNGILNAM having a rich culture=self-sufficient???

  • @smkyy you said, china is not interested in korean (other) culture. it means that your attitude is very self-sufficient.

  • @KYUNGILNAM Korean=other??? And the discussion is about claiming other people's culture, by saying not interested in Korean culture, I meant China wouldn't be interested in claiming Korean culture.

Plus a self-sufficient attitude is different from a self-sufficient entity.

  • @smkyy you are not a chinese government officer. and you do not know chinese government's policy very well. but the fact is fact. chinese government already resistered korean cultural heritage as her own.

  • @KYUNGILNAM I am not really familiar with the list but I think the simplest way to figure this out is to find the original list (if it's a significant goverenmental actin it wouldn't be difficult). But still I need to say that registering some cultural practices is not the same thing as claiming the whole culture.

  • "This is not the first time China has registered Korean cultural assets as its own. China registered the 60th birthday rituals, the Korean traditional wedding and the hanbok in 2008 as its own. The farmer's dance was registered in 2009 and now, Arirang has been added to the list."

  • @KYUNGILNAM I really doubt yr source of info. And above all, all yr so-called Korean traditions are all "traditionally" originated from antient China, if u really want to argure about it.

  • @BeckyandHelena do not be stupid. it is your own wishful and imperialistic thinking. you said that all korean thing is originated from ancient china. it is as stupid as one claim that all chinese culture is originated from korea.

  • It says the folk song of Chinese Korean for those of you (which would be the majority) who can't fully understand Chinese. Is there anything wrong with Chinese Koreans and Koreans sharing the same folk song? Where does it imply that Korean culture is "claimed" by the Chinese government? Is the person who's uploaded the video a Chinese government representative?

This is a simple logical issue people. Your overreaction clearly does not show me much about your intelligence.

  • oh please, the title is not even claiming it a han chinese folk song. It go folk song of choseon ethnics in china: arirang. Nothing stealing or anything. Just because they stay in China mean they can't practice their culture? Stop this stupid argument. it is good that chinese government do preserve and demonstrate minority culture.

  • Sometimes I wonder where the CCP got the reason to try to register Arirang as Chinese? I can't follow their reasoning.

  • It's steal, not steel, sorry

  • Let me clear of this:There is a minority in China that is Korean, not Korean in Korea, but a small minority of China. They lives on the border between China and North Korea.

So South Koreans, just shut ur dirty mouth up! Chinese have never steel your shit culture, it's North Koreans who came to China and spread it.

  • @Jarik1996 Oh my. Hay most Korean live in South Korea Ok? So Korean culture is Korean. If Italians live U.S, but Italy culture is not U.S culture. Right? So if some Korean live China, but Korean culture is Korean culture. Are you understand stupid boy? If you don't know relations in Northeast Asia, shut up mouth.

  • @simon9603 once again most of them aren't came from Korea! they are offfcially the Chinese citizens but shares same culture with North Korea because they lives near each other!

understand u stupid south korean stick? Chinese people has there own culture which is slightly different from Korean, why would we steal your culture?

  • @Jarik1996 Oh, please, why you can't understand? Hay we think together about this problem. Hay you say some Korean come China. Right? But if some Korean went to China , however Korean culture is Korean culture. Cause Korean live Korea. North Korea or South Korea whatever. Can you understand? But this video say Arirang is China folk song. And China is listed on the Arirang UNESCO. So China doing STEAL.

  • @simon9603 it says CHINESE KOREAN FOLK SONG which means this is the song from Koreans and Korean minortiy in China.Koreans minority in China do shares the same culture with Koreans in Korea( sorry if it's bit confuse).

the koreans minority in China is different from Han Chinese, it is confuse, but there are 56 minorities in China, including Tibetan, Mongolian, Korean minority etc. I'm not blaming you not understand China's different minorty, but it is wrong to say China doing steal

  • background men dancers are annoying.

  • they have "Jo Seun Jok" accent... which South Koreans refers to dialect that is spoken by Koreans who lives in Jilin, China.

  • Are you crazy? ARIRANG is Korean song. If Korean steal China's culture Chinese is very angry. Right? But NOW this VIDEO is doing steal KOREAN CULTURE. Do you understand? ARIRANG is Korean folk song. Why China steal other country culture? I can't understand. Chinese can't thinking? Why doing like evil? The original from of ARIRANG is Jeongseon ARIRANG, which has been sung in for more then 600 years. So ARIRANG is KOREAN's CULTURE!!

  • @simon9603 it is ok brother....Chinese think they invented everything. Also, stealing is a national sport for China. They get the gold medal in Industrial espionage. They need to because they have no creativity. Their children are taught to think like robots using rote memory where as children in more developed countries develop critical thinking skills and can think out of the box. Korean culture and people are beautiful. I am so lucky to have met Koreans. God bless u

  • 중국풍이군

  • Arirang is Korean song, and this is truth.

  • Stopping fighting! I am Chinese American and I am a musician, I know Chinese music very much. This is a Korean folk song sang by Korean Chinese.

  • @ileftmyheartinroma Can you tell me the truth? Is Arirang is Chinese Song?

  • @TheMarnoh You didn't read my comment carefully, as I said, Arirang is Korean folk song but sang by Chinese minority---the Korean Chinese(in this video)!

  • USA army in South Korea are very powerful nowadays like the Japs army in Second world war.

  • This song is sang by a Chinese. That singer is typical Chinese. Not Korean Chinese!. Korean minorities in China and North Koreans are real Korean. Because Korean this word is come from the Country's name고구려. This Country had the capital in the area of China today. 吉林省 集安市。신라 짼내비들은 빠지세요! South Koreans had two countries which named 백제 and 신라. At the end, these two countries were conquered by 고구려 and named 조선 which still the name of North Korea.

  • @tycz29 it is a really stupid view. if you say so all chinese culture is korean because there are lots of chinese in korea.

  • ARIRANG is KOREAN Folk Song

  • @1J1101 Really? How can you tell that they are lip syncing?

  • Calm down people. The Chinese title says "Chosun (Korean) nationality folk song".

  • Arirang is Korean Fork Song!!

Arirang is sing at Korean War

  • Chinese Japanese say Korea and Korean culture is theirs ...

Korea is loseing our culture... So sad

  • @yliu143 stfu homo, you mad

  • Comment removed

  • wow this is so korean

  • Weird of China to try and register a folk originating in South Korea with UNESCO... Maybe as revenge for Korean registering the Dano Festival under the Chinese name of a Chinese festival? :P

Though the Korean one is about shamanistic rituals, and the Chinese one is about southern Chinese politician in exile, who 2500 years committed suicide when he heard about his kingdom's destruction... Or a separate politician from another kingdom who was murdered by his king...

  • It's not like I have anything against either nations here (born South korean, studying Chinese culture), but seriously if a song means THIS much to one nation, should the other nation back off a little. I am serious China, all Koreans I've spoken to about this song means A LOT for them, yet I never encountered it at all while living in China. Kind of a pointless battle if you ask me.

  • 카악~~ 퉤

  • this song is korean traditional song. and this song was composed of korean language not chinese language. in addition, instrument does not played in video. therefore, this video uploader is showing fake information.

  • some more the person is like chinese singing Korean song.. pronunciation also not proper

  • the background more like chinese sia.. sian.. chinese korean cannot be theirself.. just cuz they under chinese nationality..

  • Plz....Fuck your self. Chinese!!.. This song is Korean song!!! And Lyrics is korean language...Not Chinese language. Do you know Arirang TV Channel ? Arirang TV channel is korean channel .. Chinese is M.Fuckers...Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, Syrian.... many peaple hate Chinese..

  • @o2i5 LOL what you guys could ever have were from china anyways.. why are you so mad ? u ungrateful bastards

  • This is korean song

    fXXking China

  • @BANG89042 あお中国でも朝鮮族がいますよ

  • Cheesh, if you Chinese folks are envious of our folk songs, just say so, don't exert it in perverted ways.

  • shit... WTF... Arirang is KOREA's traditional song...

  • I actually heard that there are ALOT OF KOREAN WANNABE'S in CHINA.... but? This is going WAY OVER BOARD!! Muhahaha

  • HAHAHAHAHA!! Talk about a bunch of "POSERS!!"

If I was Korean.....I WOULD BE PISSED!!

  • do you know how many arirang in Korea? moreover, this song does not sound like korean, but chinese.

  • this is merely Chinese music with Korean melody.

  • This doesn't feel Korean at all.

  • Whatever you chineses may say,

now all over the world know that Arirang is Korea's (not china's).

  • I an overseas Chinese educated in England. The communist and japanese (WW2 and pre WW2 era are the shit culprits that caused a north Korea and communist china. China is not really communist now and that is why they prosper. Others they will be staging like north Korea.

  • @mark3lim out of topic

  • lol it's just funny how chinos try to say everything's fking their shit. I've even met this one chino guy who seriously belives spaghetti and piano are chino culture too. totally ridiculous, GET REAL dude!

  • completely different from real arirang.........

and those instruments should not be played in that way. It's same as you play violin like guitar....!!!!!

  • @BB2087 wat on earth are you talking about

  • @KPOPAHOILIC Those background instruments are called "Jang Gu", and the player need special stick to play. But in the video they are playing it like jembe.... no one in korea play that way.

  • For videos on this year's Arirang Mass Games. go to the "Passwordforgetter" channel - the full show in all its fantastic glory !

  • you'd better say the folk song is not in chinese but in korean. in China there are 56 ethnic groups including korean this is also their folk song and their nationality is chinese.

  • Ok...that's not how you sing Arirang...Only Koreans can really understand the meaning and method of singing this song...

  • @22572008 Its called Baek Doo San...not Jiang Baek San (that is chinese). BTW, BeakDoo San is where Korea has its own heritage...and yes China is illegally occupying it now. Guess what, that is ok. Because it will bring a curse to China now...so most of Koreans really don't mind China occupying half of Beak Doo San.

  • the title says 中国朝鲜族 so clearly there must be a difference between the Koreans in Korea and the Korean in China. Can't we all accept this? I think it is good sometimes to have variety and see different cultures.

Even Koreans in Seoul I am sure are different from the Koreans in Cheju island or Pushan.

  • What some people don't seem to understand, there is a large minority of Koreans living in China, what's the problem if China happens to be proud of their fellow choson country men? is not as if china is only made for Han.

  • i have always love this song and always will...ever since I have learned this song it still echoes in my mind and touches my heart the feelings i have for Korea. i miss Korea so much and hope to come back to the country that have captivated my soul.....the song reflects my feeling for Korea, its people, its culture and all that is korean.

  • starting to like Koreans less and less ... I don't understand where the hate for Chinese come from.

  • @terry890 Our Chinese friend! Let me explain to you. Chinese government tried to register this ARIRANG to UNESCO as a chinese song, Koreans are very concerned about what Chinese government was trying to do. As you know this ARIRANG is Korean traditional song China has nothing to do with. Jews in Russia has their own culture Russia has never tried to register in UNESCO as Russian culture. I believe you understand what I said.

  • @sangjsim Smile without saying a word

LS shao bing ..shou dong xie yan

    Han yi..

  • @sangjsim What about Dragon Boat Festival?

  • @sangjsim well said. if chinese governmment claims that Arirang (a korean song) is a chinese because of korean ethinic group in chinese territory, american government can claim that all chinese culture are american because of lots of chinse in the states.

  • @KYUNGILNAM

idiot korean, why not fuck yourself?

Chinese are ancesters of Koreans and Japanese

  • @fuckwangdan i do not think you are properly educated. the majority of koreans came from mongolian area. korean people are not Han people at all.

  • @fuckwangdan i understand that you are a chinese nationalist. if you want to persuade someone, please get a good education first.

  • @KYUNGILNAM

lol. Wherever you are from, you are destined to be AFFILIATED country of China.

  • @fuckwangdan i have nothing to do with china. your claim sounds very imperialistic, arrogant and ignorant.

    not everyting is chinese.

i do not think your remarks are helpful to promote the image of china. your claim ( "Chinese are ancesters of Koreans and Japanese") gives a bad impression of a chinese.

  • @KYUNGILNAM

    To promote the image?

    lol

World is not played by image; world is played by POWER.

Anyway, korea is always a affiliated nation of China, as long as China is strong enough; either you like it or not.

We Chinese never give two shits towards Korean, since we know you are weak nation no matter how much you claim belongs to Korean. Yeah, the whole universe belongs to Korean!

  • @fuckwangdan you are fabricating something of which i did not say. i did not say china belongs to korea!!! i only said that korea does not belong to china.

  • @fuckwangdan if you claim that 'Chinese are ancesters of Koreans and Japanese,' it is not only fabrication but also threat.
