  • King - before the knee injury - and before Jordan even came into the league - was a PREEMINENT SCORER.

  • EVERYONE DO NOT REPLY TO WHAT I SAID ABOUT THE SIZE OF MELO TO KING I ALREADY KNOW.

  • He should be in the HOF.

  • his torn acl in 85 was just a horrible shame! he was never the same...

  • 40 pts by half time and only 20 in the second half..slacker. This was a madison square garden record until a few yrs ago when Kobe broke it.

Bernard also had back to back 50 point games at Dallas and San Antonio.

  • best knick ever?

  • :53, he shoots with his left and swishes it on his defender... he can shoot with both hands? wow.

  • Look at his playoff #'s against the Celtics, dude was dropping 40+ every game. How's dude not in the Hall and Bill Walton is? Some bullshit honestly....

  • @WillMorebucks Aye man i still think Bernard King desereves it better but Bill Walton was a beast with the Blazers though

  • @LilCAm3211

Bill Walton had a 4-year run of being great, after that he was too hurt to be anything but a role player. That means you gotta let Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway, and Tracy McGrady in the Hall cause their careers took a similar trajectory

  • flat out scorer....

  • great accuracy, though wouldn't call him the best shooter. Haven't seen any 3s

  • @GuruEdward best scorer.. not shooter

  • Thanks for the video!! I just found out who Bernard King was 5 min ago on NBA TV.

  • the only King of NYC!

  • When I watched this I saw Carmelo Anthony.

  • Once Bernard Gets position on the block it's a wrap!!! He had one of the quickest release on his shot that nobody can't stop. Too bad injuries took a toll on his career. One of the best Knick of all time!!!

  • My dad played in that game for the nets!!! Number 14 ransey!!!

  • weak defence

  • the defense back then was great you can see the nets actually trying to fight for position and get in the way when he drives to the basket. players these days are worried about getting injured and not being able to play.

  • Wow, defense was so weak in the 80s

  • Bernard would beat Jordans ass any day of the week on the court one on one.

  • @bjroberts65 You on one I guess...

  • @ZenoKoninckx04 ...Im on your mother......

  • @bjroberts65 Necrophiliac.

  • @ZenoKoninckx04....Oh you did'n't know...Im one freaky MOTHERFUCKER!!!

  • Excellent player, was my fave.

  • UNSTOPPABLE.....

  • Just met him at Staples yesterday.

  • He dropped 60 on 30 shot attempts.

  • So sick. What a performance.

  • damn I thought prime tmac made it look smooth. King best mid range shooter ever

  • Bernard = Gale Sayers of the NBA

  • see Games 4 and 6 against the Celts - lost in 7 at Boston but the Garden ROCKED so much (at least in the Yellows) that I thought it was coming down.....

  • if only they could have had a healthy Bernard along side Patrick Ewing.......

  • The best offensive player the Knicks ever had. Period.

  • The unfortunate thing about playing with Jordan, Magic, Bird, Isiah, Erving, Malone, etc, is that you can score 60, average 32 for a season, and not be remembered by today's generation. This guy was the best scorer of the last generation not named Jordan.

  • @MrHotpantsImComin He was injured a lot. Just imagine if he had stayed healthy...oooh boy!

  • @MrHotpantsImComin Well said.

  • @MrHotpantsImComin amen!!!!! and it was 32.9 for the season!!!

  • @MrHotpantsImComin

Let's not get carried away here. King was not the 2nd best scorer of last generation. Did you forget Dominique Wilkins, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, Reggie Miller, Moses Malone, or Clyde Drexler?

  • There is a Tier-1 in the annals of NBA lore, of unstoppable scorers. Men who simply could not be stopped, ever. BK is in there with Jordan, Kareem, Wilt, and all those guys.

  • At 1:05-1:08, WTF? How did he make the NBA?

  • Comment removed

  • @msingh96

I know Bernard finished it. I was obviously talking about the guy who missed the layup before Bernard came in, you dumbfuck. Notice how I specifically said 1:05-1:08? Of course your stupid ass didn't.

  • Nobody ever made it look easier.

  • He could light it up with the best of them. If he had not blown out his knees, he would have been a first-ballot Hall of Famer. No brainer

Carmelo is not and will never be in the same category as Bernard King.

  • He could light it up with the best of them. If he had not blown out his knees, he would have been a first-ballot Hall of Famer. No brainer

  • specifically the left handed fadeaway at 0:53

  • Wow, right and left handed fadeaways depending on what side he was on

  • Such a quick release...Unstoppable. Couldn't jump particularly high, wasn't very tall for a post player yet when he got to rolling he was literally one of the toughest players to stop.

  • Melo's signature : fake spin move layup/shot...so nice

  • bernard king is like a bigman version of carmelo anthony

  • @2010raquan bigman version? King is smaller than Melo 6'7" vs. 6'8"

  • @mrsha007 i stand corrected. all i know is that melo and king gets buckets. we can agree on that

  • @mrsha007 Melo is 6'5". King is at least 6'7"

  • @SamuelMoralesJr wtf? o_O Melo is 6'8" bro.

  • @SupaahBadMVs no he ain't dumbass. Lebron is 6'8" and Melo is no where near his height.

  • @SamuelMoralesJr time to bring in the pictures. learn to look into shit before you call someone a "dumbass" dumbass. I didn't even need to research to know Carmelo is 6'8" but you should've. google "Carmelo Anthony LeBron James" and then look at any pictures of them standing straight up and tell me Melo is 3 inches shorter. then try "Carmelo Anthony Kobe Bryant" and tell me Melo is shorter then Kobe smartass. Learn your shit before you start talking all that bullshit.

  • @SupaahBadMVs motherfucker, I watch Melo, and Lebron all the time. Pictures don't do justice. One person can be standing further away, and look shorter, but they are really taller. Lol at pictures. STFU. Lebron is significantly taller than Melo. You must be blind, or on crack.

  • @SamuelMoralesJr

Yo man, you're probably thinking of somebody else. Carmelo is the dude that was on the Nuggets, recently joined the Knicks. He's 6'8 like LBJ, but like 230 so he's a lot lighter.

  • @myez no he fucking aint' you must be blind, Lebron is significantly taller than Camelo. Carmelo is 6'5" you tool. Lebron is a legit 6'8". Just because Melo is listed at 6'8" doesn't mean he is 6'8". It's called a exaggeration. In Melo's case a gross exaggeration.

  • @SupaahBadMVs no he ain't.

  • @SamuelMoralesJr Melo is 6'8".

  • @2010raquan hes shorter then melo lol

  • @2010raquan

What are you talking about? King was an inch shorter and weighted 25 pounds less than Anthony.

  • @dbo514 ikno. he just looks bigger in videos

  • @2010raquan

ye both not realy great defenders or passers i think melo has ton of potential but is lazy as hell it will be vince carter or t mac story again if he doesent chenge his mindset

  • @2010raquan Melo is actually bigger than Bernard, but there's no question he patterns his game after King. He said King was his favorite player as a kid, but you can also see it on the court.

  • @nuckles2k2 yea its obvious that he patterns his game around king.I pattern my game around melo except i try to drive more than shoot.

  • @2010raquan this is a year late, but you mean "carmelo anthony is a litte version of Bernard King"

  • @GamerAntman yes ikno if you were to look at all the other comments you would know. its just that in the vids he looks bigger than melo.

  • @2010raquan

bigman version? i dont get it. they are both small forwards and king is an inch shorter than anthony.

  • @2010raquan

    Carmelo - 6'8" 230

    Bernard - 6'7" 210

    Say whut?

  • ever since kobe scored 61 they made a vid of this guy. hard to beleive this scoring machine is underrated

  • Bernard King was the best player of his time. Not only would he score against three defenders hanging off him; on defense he had to guard players like Bird, Wilkins, and Lambeer. Bird never guarded Bernard, that was left to dudes like McHale and Parish.

    Put Bernard in the HOF.

  • 1:25 look at melo today! thast his moooove

  • @doit18seven you mean bernards move lol

  • Why is it that non of these guys name come up when they mention the G.O.A.T

  • @AFEEF93 cuz everyone knows G.O.A.T is MJ

  • Sweet jumper! 19/30 means 63% shooting. James Worthy shot 17/26 for 65% shooting in his 40 point 1989 Finals game 4 performance. Larry Bird once did 15/20 which is 75%.

Note: This is not a Bird>>Worthy>>King post! It's just information for junkies!

  • first time i have watch after watcinh kobe 61 pointer.

  • Antawn Jamison's down low game is very similar. That being said Jamison couldn't hold BK's jock.

  • My two teams, University of Tennessee and the New York Knicks...Bernard King and Allan Houston!!!!

  • yea there beast 20 53

  • just watched it today

  • legend

  • Man thanks for all these posts instant sub!

  • Great vid.
