I couldn't hear his reply, the woman filming said, How long do you think you could live only on juice, and then he replied, Dr. Walker........... Does anyone know what he said?
@lissee212 hOW LONG could someone live on this carrot juice??
A: Dr. walker couldn't eat solid food, so he only ingested juice. Solid food he found would make him sick. He lived on this juice for years. Many years.
@mremilyem Well he believes there is something harmful in the skin. It has something to do with an enzyme or toxin which makes a plant resistant to pests. He thinks that if you consume a lot of that substance then it can be detrimental to the digestive system.
I love my Norwalk Juicer. I have had it for almost 30 years! Very nice people. You can reach them at 760-436-9615 or toll free 866-466-7925 . Their website is norwalkjuicerscalifornia
What an arrogant jerk... That baby boomer generation and the generation before the BB's are some of the weirdest freaks on the planet. They are such high archaical people they completely miss the point of making a video like this... it's to educate people, you DORK. SHARE what you know!! TALK!
What an arrogant jerk... That baby boomer generation and the generation before the BB's are some of the weirdest freaks on the planet. They are such high archaical people they completely miss the point of making a video like this... it's to educate you DORK. SHARE what you know!! TALK!
(HINT: try laying out several carrots side by side and cut multiple tips at once and then peel them while their in your hand or don't peel them at all and wash all of them in the large bowl with lots of water).
I loved when the girl was asking him how Mr. Walker discovered that drinking juice was so beneficial and he said "he analyzed the juice" and just keeps of grinding carrots, ignoring the girl as she was talking...
@Annazayla This type of juicer chews up the food into a bag and then a press smashes the juice out. It's also about $800 to $1000 used, $2000 or so new. A centrifugal style juicer ($50-$200) has a spinning blade which grinds and sorts out the juice and pulp all in one shot. It is claimed by many that Norwalks don't oxidize the juice like a centrifugal but unless the juicing is done in a vacuum or an otherwise oxygen-free environment, the juice will certainly oxidize on its way into the jar.
@Annazayla Also, it's said that the Norwalk's hydraulic press extracts more juice, which is true, but if you line a centrifugal juicer's pulp container with cheesecloth, you can press it yourself, not very difficult, and it's not that much extra juice anyway. Champion juicers are a third type.
Really?? We have to sit here and watch this guy peel all the carrots?? And why would you peel them instead of just washing them off?? And I have seen this brand of carrot before, and they are NOT organic.....so what is the point of trying to show us how to be healthy by juicing, and then use non-organic carrots?? ha ha.....how absurdly unprofessional is this?!
@Annazayla Why??? Because the Norwalk juicer comes with very easy to understand instructions. And if you follow them, you will be able to juice the RIGHT way. Who is this guy??....your boyfriend that you feel compelled to defend?? lol
This is a disaster... LOL. How in the world would it make sense to have a juicer that takes this much work and space and destroys your kitchen? Plus it's high speed so it must introduce the oxidizing problem. For $2,500? Disaster.
I bought a used Norwalk (270) today, and after trying it out and making a mess, I'd like to know how you prevent all the throwback? I literally had carrots all over my counters, cupboards, ceiling and myself... I finally got the hang of it, but still experienced some on and off messes flying all over the place. Also, are your bags that orange because of their age, or did you purchase them in that color? Thanks!
@chelojelo I got the juicer locally on Craigslist for $1250. Not 270, that's the model number! The newest model is 275, but the only changes are the new colors and rounded edges. After a little practice, I am no longer experiencing a messy ceiling - lol! :) We love our Norwalk, and literally use it every day! Juice five pounds of carrots (with apple, beets and celery) every day! Yum... It's definitely an energy boost!
Apparently you haven't tasted the difference between peeled carrots and unpeeled carrots with the Norwalk Juicer, nor read Dr. Norman Walker's books as to the reason for peeling root vegetables prior to juicing.
It's also worth mentioning you can get an auger style juicer ($200+) just to "shred" the food exactly as the Norwalk does and buy a separate hydrolic press identical to the Norwalk for $400. Both will be less than 1/3 the price of the machine and have the same function. There are other ways to get similar or identical quality juice for 1/3 the cost or less.
Norwalk is the "best" but the Omgea VERT is pretty close to the quality of juice and is much cheaper.
$2500 for the Norwalk 75th anniversary edition versus $400 for the Omega VERT.
It's worth researching. The main disadvantage is that you have to cut everything because of the small insertion hole of the machine. For the drastic difference in price it's worth it.
When you compare the quality of the juice it's very similar.
Lets not promote false info Norman Walker lived to be 99 not bad but please don't exaggerate the facts it causes bad results for a community trying to get people good information.
Thanks for the time making this video and showing the Norwalk juicer in action. The guy making the juice is sort of ignorant and needs to wear some gloves if others are going to be consuming it.
Let me explain my comment. "if others are consuming it" as in the public. Public as in customers drinking the juice being bottled in this video. The Pizza oven, 40 cu.ft. commercial refrigerator, store front, apron, deep stainless sink and many more things make a setting as if the juicing is for customers. I also wouldnt peel 25 pounds of carrots after Mr walker and DR Gerson recommend the skin on them for all the nutrients hence the press style of juicing to save all the micronutrients.
Not even the most prestigious chefs around the world will be using gloves. Constantly washing the hands (it's the friction, not the soap that cleans your hands), can do a lot in comparison to using gloves, which I bet most places do not change frequently no matter the "products" or contamination. Simply washing gloves off with water isn't the same as washing them and creating friction between them. That's why I don't care if chefs wear gloves, since most wash their hands frequently.
@BrokenRT Please note that conventional carrots store most of your pesticides and washing/cleaning agents. BUTTT purchase or GROWW your own , chemical & pesticide free ORGANIC produce and you should certainly juice the skins of the carrots and get all the additional micro nutrients your body needs
your a crack head obviously. Do your research. Your the kind of guy who buys an abflex and stair stepper along with countless other get healthy quick devices.
what a joke. This guy needs to call a dietician. He is going to kill himself with that much carrot juice. to much sugar a little bit goes along way. needs to mix things up. How many humans do you know that can eat a pound of carots in a 3 minute drink?
oh yeah, Norman Walker REALLY didn't know what he was doing when he invented this juicer, (sarcasm) knowing he only lived for ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTEEN YEARS by drinking 10 cups of vegetable juice from concentrate a day and refusing to eat fast food.
This fella's as warm as the Arctic. Nice choice for a documentary. And then there's the PEELING of the carrots. MMM... how to waste the most nutrition... ok....
What is the problem with the peeling of the carrots? Unlike potatoes, the main nutrition in a carrot is not just under the skin. I never peeled my carrots before juicing, just cleaned them with a brush until I started using a very firm brush and found a white gelatin like substance on the brush after about 5 carrot cleanings. I now peel all the carrots, removing surface bacteria and can store the juice for 3 days in the fridge after evacuating the air in the mason jar. So...keep peeling!
@boldsoulsister Well he is an old friend of the family. lol And as for peelings, are you sure most of the nutrients are under the skin. I know its aid for Watermelon or Potatoes....
