people use riptape because when riding a fingerboard the sweat liquids and oils from ur hand wear out the griptape faster than rip or other foamy tapes using riptape can increase the durability of the ride but some people still use real skateboard grip to provide the authentic feel of a real skateboard in a fingerboard...
