  • Sorry to pester you- Why are some properties in physics always squared and some cubed and so on? E.g. i tend to notice the speed of light gets squared( is this to do with how it radiates from source?) and volume gets cubed( i can understand this a bit better because volume is a 3 dimensional property). These are all i can think of right now. Robert.

  • there is a difference between speed of light and volume. Volume means cubed - 3 dimensions. Speed of light is just the property of light/universe... and as far as i know it's not always squared, it may appear that way because those are the formulas you have been exposed to... hope that made sense, it's like 5:30 am right now so my brain is a little off center :)

  • @chychochycho no problem- no i reali9se there's a differnce of course but why would a square or cube be applied to certain formulas in certain situations in the real world is my(unclear) question! Like besides a squared variable being squared because the math turned out that way, i notice some variables are always squared from the outset?

  • It's just the way it works out, or it's just the formulas that you have seen them used in. If we are trying to find an area of something, there is going to be a squared. Volume, cubed, etc...

and as you said, sometimes the math (proof, derivation) just works out that way.

  • @chychochycho OK THANKS!-Robbie.

  • you're helping a college student. thanks :)

  • I watched a couple of your videos a year ago before going back to college, to refresh & re-learn simple math. I'm correctly up to Calculus. Great videos. Reviewing to use "power rule" / (/Lo'Pitals) Tnx. P.S. The sound track was right on it!, I suggest you use instrumentals also.

  • thanks man smooth explanation

if your gonna do another interlude with music put some Feel Me Flow by Naughty By Nature or some J-Dilla :)

    paz.

  • I'll check them out for sure, any tracks you think will work well with the math videos?

  • Its great you make time for this. :D Btw do you have a trigonometry video?

  • yap i have about 5 or 6 videos on trig ... a lot more on geometry ... see table of contents linked in the info to this video on the right.

  • your awesome

  • i just turned red ... thanks :)
