I agree with you. I was a Jordin fan at 1st but frankly as good as her voice is, they bored me. I wish her the best however, I would not buy her CDs. I looked forward everyweek for Blake. If it really were all about marketability, Taylor Hicks wouldn't have won last year, since R&B/Soul isn't very popular with young people today. Considering the fact that Taylor's only sold 650,000 copies of his debut album to date, I doubt it's mostly about marketability.
It definately isn't about marketability, and MadCow Mark, i'd suggest you find something better to do than just piss people off in forums. You are basing Blake on just one performance and if you watched Idol often you would see he is an incredible talent. In a mediocre season where nothing makes sense (how the hell does Sanjaya stay, he's the weakest performer?!!) Blake is the top male vocalist hands down!
I think that Chris Sligh is the best singer out of the males, BUT I like Blake more because I find much more originality in the way that he sings and performs. I am NOT a fan of hiphop, beatboxing, reggae, but Blake makes me listen to it and like it, which is something a great singer/performer should be able to do. Him and Jordin are my two favorites this season and I do hope to see them in the finale (Melinda's great also ^^)

He was sharp for most of the song. His "...the naysayers" was super lame. Don't do a song with lyrics you can't sing. He is lame, his performance was lame, and he should be ashamed of himself. It was like hearing Barry Manilow sing a Sinatra song. If he would have done it well, I would have appreciated it because I'm a huge 311 fan. Fact is he didn't...just because it's on TV doesn't mean its good to all of you 15 year olds out there.

No, I'd rather him pick a song he can sing on key and one that might be a bit more appropriate. He might be your favorite, but American Idol isn't quite all about talent, is it? And Def, I'll ignore your unwarranted insult, and agree that he *is* promoting 311, which is good.

And if he's performing in front of the world, and can't carry a tune in a bucket- explain to me where the talent is?But whatever...I don't even watch the show. My point was that if he is a strong contender, and can't stay on pitch, it seems that it is more about marketability as opposed to talent. Staying on pitch is a major component of talent, you would think. Maybe I'm wrong...

If it really were all about marketability, Taylor Hicks wouldn't have won last year, since R&B/Soul isn't very popular with young people today. Considering the fact that Taylor's only sold 650,000 copies of his debut album to date, I doubt it's mostly about marketability.

It definately isn't about marketability, and MadCow Mark, i'd suggest you find something better to do than just piss people off in forums. You are basing Blake on just one performance and if you watched Idol often you would see he is an incredible talent. In a mediocre season where nothing makes sense (how the hell does Sanjaya stay, he's the weakest performer?!!) Blake is the top male vocalist hands down!

I think that Chris Sligh is the best singer out of the males, BUT I like Blake more because I find much more originality in the way that he sings and performs. I am NOT a fan of hiphop, beatboxing, reggae, but Blake makes me listen to it and like it, which is something a great singer/performer should be able to do. Him and Jordin are my two favorites this season and I do hope to see them in the finale (Melinda's great also ^^)
