The plain english translation does not say this and ofcourse not the original Arabic. It says (in english that is) : "Then He directed Himself to the heaven while it was smoke and said to it and to the earth, "Come [into being], willingly or by compulsion." They said, "We have come willingly."

I don't think we have the right to judge anyone or tell them what to do. If a woman feels that wearing hejab brings her close to spirituality its her right to wear it. If a woman feels that it doesn't and it limits her, and feel uncomfortable wearing it, she shouldn't wear it. Nobody should be forced to wear hejab!!!!! It should be based on individual choice. A woman who wears hejab has no right to judge a woman who doesn't and vice verse.

I personally have no issues about the hijab but what about respect for the French Constitution, which unless I am mistaken separates religion and state? Can someone clarify this because I am not French.

Like I said I have no issue with the hijab- in fact I think it is quite elegant and respectful but the niqab and the burqa especially I do take issue with- they cause a communication barrier and are a statement of segregation. Before anyone calls my names please read what I wrote about the hijab
