I've got an Aprilia RS125 with a 154cc big bore kit and it produces 34bhp (check my vid for mods). I don't understand how the Ninja 250r only produces 28 tuned? Compare it to a cbr250rr back in the day with what 45hp...you must be able to get more horse from that motor but the highest I've seen is 30...odd/
the Mito is pertty cool, but US doesn't allow 2S on the street. For me, I'd rather have that proposed KTM RC4. I'd race that in a heartbeat. I know Cagiva was trhinking of putting the Husky 510 motor in a Cagiva Mito frame before Husky was sold to BMW. That would have been cool too.

Removing the snorkle caused a loss of midrange, but a slight gain up top. This bike is very susceptable to small jet changes. Over 6K the bike is very rich in stock jetting. We leaned out that jet. AF curve showed that we could go even smaller and we tried that and it gained another 1/2 HP but it could cause it to go very lean in cool weather. Call Ron and he could put together a jet kit for you, now that he's done a bunch of research.
Stock jetting is very lean under 7k, but stupid rich above. They do that for emissions. Most people aren't riding around at 14k. Too lean you burn things up and too rich well, there just isn't any HP. There are multiple circuits for the carburator to adjust and I am not the expert. Ron was able to get the curve a little straighter and closer to a normal AF across the rev range.
i haven't taken my bike to the dyno yet, just my ass dyno. i've got pods and a 2-1 yosh (old ex250) i spent 3 days tuning it and i came up with this. 110's fuel screws out 3 1/8 turns and needle clip is in the third notch --l-l-l- - ------>. its seems to run well and strong, but i get no flames about of the exhaust, normal?
That could be good, but there is no way to really know until you put the sniffer down the exhaust and get some readings. If and when you have access to a dyno, get it checked out to be certain.
where is Ron hopkins located in oregon? i live in the portland area and am looking for someone to tune a ninja 250r.

@D61664 the new ones have about 27ps at the wheel 33ps at the motor i have one two but it doesnt take much to get it to 33hp :)

With jetting it came out to 30.xxHP. It was low 30's if i remember correctly.

What were the AFR's? I have same pipe, with snorkal removed and .06 shims. Wondering if I should get it on a dyno.
