I'm a big fan of mythbusters. But I really don't know how you think this is plagiarism. First of all, myth busters "bust" "myths" which we don't do. Second, in all their shows involving gun powder, they use premade smokeless gunpowder.
Who cares if the gunpowder is a little slow, it gets the job done! Those explosives looked just about as good as any other with faster gunpowder (though it is best to have the fastest burning gunpowder possible). Keep making explosives! Anyway that works! We need more people to blow up stuff : )
You had the incorrect recipe, if your gunpowder were made correctly, regaurdless of the style, it should have burned up in less than a 1/2 second at the slowest.
You confined it well. All bullshit aside, you showed great effort and you did it without dieing. You did a good-job, I guess my initial evaluation was harsh. Good.

Its more Blackpowder than gunpowder.
Gunpowder is a bit like metalpellets.
U could make Flashpowder with Potassium nitrate(KNO3)and aluminium powder.
The rotation was about 5(knO3):1 alu

there was gunpowder only. We added gas on top to make a cloud of fire which didn't go as planned expect in the last explosion.
