i own a ml320 there is nothing snazzy about mercedes 4x4 systems just like any other mercedes are nice to have but a big headache if u aint got the money to take care of everything p.s they have tons of problems and need service all the time but the secvice is exceptional.
@lekaslex yea but my ml is now 10 years old. I cant get waranties like that anymore. Dont get me wrong i love the car to death and will never throw it out, its a remarkable car and the build is solid. But german cars are a handful to take car of compared to japanese cars. We own a2001 ML320 a 1998 Toyota Sienna and my car the newest addition a 2006 Audi A4. The sienna has been running strong since the day we got it and its driven the harshest of all 3.
Thanks for the in sight. This is what I am worried about. I would like to purchase a pre-owned 2007-08 E350. Love the way the car looks from exterior to interior however I'm thinking 5-6 yrs down the road with no warranty will this car be as reliable as my 98 Honda Accord? I have 190K miles on it and engine still runs strong. German cars would be superior to all if they were just reliable.
@lekaslex well i would say go for it becasue there is just something special about mercedes-benz's idk how to explain it. It just feels perfect. But like I said before once warantee is over every repair comes out of the pocket. Mechanically mercedes are good. But the electronics go out very often. Heres my list of repairs/broken stuff. Navi/CD Changer/Electric window controls/mirrors/rear windows/and the abs/bas started to malfunction a while ago but that was about it.
@lekaslex However mechanically the only thing that has gone wrong since 2001 is the mid driveshaft bearing popped and made a horrible scraping noise. IDK if you know about Mercedes much but 1998-2003 time they started slacking and their quality really went down. Unfortunatley I fall in that category. Right now my interior peices are falling apart slowly. It is a old car too, but you should be find. I say go ahead with the buy you will love the car. Mercedes= you made it in life.
I totally agree with you. Benz in the 80's and 90's were untouchable. Great quality build. Ever since the merger with Chrysler reliability has somewhat diminished. Despite all that I found a 2007 E350 4matic with 42,000 miles at Star Mercedes in LIC NY. White with a light blueish interior. Test drove it and love the dam car. Trying to haggle the price with the dealer.
@lekaslex lol i got my audi from LIC auto traders its off of queens blvd. if i remember. LOL i go to Queens every weekend to visit family. But live in CT, im guessing u live close to LIC.
Lol small world; yeah I live close to LIC in Astoria. I'm close to the Tri-borough Bridge. You probably take that Bridge to come into Queens. The dealership I'm taking about is called Silver Star Motors Mercedes-Benz Dealership located at 36-11 Northern Boulevard Long Island City, NY 11101. I'm haggling with the salesman and trying to get the 2007 for $20k. He was originally asking $28K and I got him down to $24. Car sales are slow so I'm trying to take advantage.
@lekaslex lol yea what a small world, but yea i got my car from long island auto traders all i know is its near the pathmark on queens blvd. The price for the car was 21,000 sticker, we haggled down to 17,000. But with all the paperwork warranty, anti theft program and stuff it all came out to about 25,000. I also include some work i had to do on the car in that price.
