  • nice job man, looks and sounds good, i got a 73 2.0l in resto mode...hot cam ,holley 500 eslinger head, runs on racing gas.

  • That's a nasty sounding 4 banger! How does it run? I have a bone stock 74 wagon with 2300 & auto trans and it's just sitting.I'm thinking about building a crazy turbo motor, manual transmission, limited slip diff, etc and taking some weight out of it starting by getting rid of those huge heavy, nasty looking bumpers and use early ones, leave it looking stock. It wouldbe a great sleeper!

  • i got a stock all original 73 pinto trunk version and its amazing i love it any tips for me on souping a 2.0 up like how much money would i need for it and what parts to make it sound like urs ?

  • looks and sounds great

  • Listen to that sound, one of the best sounding 4 bangers of all time.

My 71 Runabout had a high lift cam, re-jetted 32/36 Weber, Hedman headers,

    2 1/2 pipe running out to a 2 1/2 inch flowmaster.

I wish I had a nickle for everytime some guy asked me if it converted to a 6.

Nobody will confuse this sound for a "ricer"

  • Sounds nice for an old fourbanger. What kind of exhaust set up do you have?

  • Thanks man and it is a headman header with a 2 1/2 exhaust and a chambered muffler. @silverstang921

  • @91rangerturbo. Sweet! I have got a ranger header for now. Have you got a bigger cam??

  • @91rangerturbo that is the best 2.3 ive heard. what did you do to the head and what cam is in it?

  • @91rangerturbo what cam do you have in it?

  • that is the best 2.3 ive heard what did you do to the head? and what cam is in it?

  • wow I am not the only one driving a modded pinto with a 4cyl in the car still btw mine is a 2.0

  • @2916jr Did you upgrade to a mallory dist. and a MSD ignition unit?

  • @rampking1

no i haven't . I plan on spraying this motor. and then swapping it to a 2.3 turbo engine. So it still has a points setup with a accel coil.

  • @91rangerturbo Thanks for the reply. I am no super-mechanic, but speaking strictly from experience with my two 71' Pinto's with the 2000.

HUGE difference at higher RPM's and burned cleaner than stock.

Out of all my mods, this and swapping out the front springs made the most

    immediate impacts.

Have a Z3 now but I still miss those Pintos.

  • @rampking1 nope still stock dizzy

  • @2916jr

This car is still a 2300cc engine.
