Why Does HONEY HONEY IN DANISH Break my Heart? Travelled nearly 3000 kms to meet a beautiful Girl, just rounded the corner at Hughenden (Dinosaur country) in Queensland, when the Danish version came on radio. I knew I was on the homestretch. To meet the girl I loved and lived with for 2 years. Travelled that way to be with her for (for the very first time) Christmas 2008. Cyclone Yassi blew my love away. Sorry must be this time of the year.
Dude, i love this song, when i listen to it i can recall my childhood and at the same time when i started to fall in love by this wonderful super swedish group ABBA, great video and fascinating pics, i loved them all so much!!! thanks for sharing with us!! hugs from KIKO
I'm currently learning Swedish because of how much Swedish music I like... shouldn't be so hard since I know German which is supposed to be the most difficult of all the Germanic languages.
@SpongyOLlama, I can speak it too but its hard to talk it so yo understand TV comfortably; ,, , Ich ben deutch aber I speak english the whole life long and 13 years now spanish , swedish is difficult it like relearning german again, woof thats ruff mission to learn good enough to be understanding fast TV news talk every day, thats when you know it time you can say I get it now ,good luck, sehr vielen gluck ,hope that germans ok , Im about to go visit for the summer the first time in 20+ yrs
@adigital1 Now I feel better because I am learning Swedish as well. Like you, I am having a difficult time speaking it, Its dificult but not imposible. I will be going there next year, and I am counting the days.
@redstar127 good luck with your swedish! and you are welcome here to Sweden :) there are some lessons in swedish here on youtube, that gives you the basic grammar ^^ I believe it is difficult for others to learn swedish but like you said, it's not impossible :)
You don't need to speak Swedish to hear this song and have a huge grin break out.
I loved ABBA, despite being into punk, heavy metal and mod, i never denied it and although it is cool now in a kitsch sort of way i never have thought of it like that.
So glad I got to live in Sweden as an exchange student and learn the language. I remember it took me four months to start dreaming in Swedish - LOL great time.
@sunflyer40 I am learning this beautiful language because I am going to Sweden next year. This will be my first time there and I just want to go for a visit the first time, but I would like to go to school there. Do you have any recomendations for me??
jag älskar ABBA! (I love ABBA), Jag är en glad trevlig person som bor i det vackra landet Sverige! (I am a nice person who live in the beautiful country Sweden!), sjuhundrasjuttiosju (777)
When this song was released in 1974, Frida and Bjorn were both 29 years old (Bjorn is the oldest of the four ) ...Benny was 28 years old, and Aggy was a young 24 years old. These were the early 70's and times were much simpler back then. You could basically write anything and sell records. Singer/songwriters ruled the 70's.
@ji61m Well, I belive you still can. Just look at all the peculiar "independent" pop groups out there today (or all the simplistic hiphop!) I find this rather well produced, strings and all ;)
A large portion of Minnesota's population is of Nordic descent, mostly from Northern European countries of Scandinavia such as Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
I lived in sweden for 5 years and swedish isnt so hard to learn but was hard to pronounce in the special way that they do. one big problem i had was alot of people would reply in english when they found out i was from england, you had to get used to speaking both languages all the time.
I love this version...Swedish sounds better for me:) My mom always used to sing this, a family favourite I think. All my aunts and uncles loved it too. Great video, 5 stars!
Thank you Aggy. Sorry for the late response, we had a phone line cut in the neighborhood and it took out the internet. Sounds like this song is very popular in your family.
A super video, Jim!!! I had never listened to the Swedish version of this song! As I had already told you, in general, I prefer the swedish versions! And, here, isn't different! It sounds so well! It's a pity that I can't understand the Swedish language. Nevertheless, I appreciate it so much! Your pics are great and the effects too, my friend! I'm impressed with the quality of sound and image! Congratulations for your work, Jim! And thanks for the infos!
and I love the swedish lyrics, much cooler than the english. if you don't know already, they are all about warning girls not to listen to and fall for guys' flatter and sweet talk ;)
