  • Deus Ex...a game that actually makes you Think!

People all over the globe need to play this game, and any games with a story and plot that gives you stuff to think on and turn them all together into a Bible of Wisdom =D

  • The music of this game was so ambient and really made the settings feel real. The cyberpunk corporation running and scheming through an endless night, researching behind closed doors using questionable methods, but to deliver something to globe wants regardless and with no questions asked.

  • Anyone let the crazy bum out of the cell and watch him run riot around the labs?

  • @gconneely92 I did.

  • @gconneely92 Have you also noticed that this may cause a chain events of Augmented suit-guys fighting VS the MJ12 soldiers?

  • So far ahead of its time, it even has dubstep hooks before they were popular in dubstep.

    1:02

  • @majicodemejico lol all you guys ever know is dubstep... look up some ebm/industrial/idm/dnb/elektro/etc all stuff that has been doing what you call dubstep hooks for decades prior.

  • @hedonismrocks Don't assume I'm some kind of idiot just because I mentioned dubstep, that's pretty shortsighted of you. I mentioned dubstep because I clicked on the related dubstep video linked on the right, and after a while of clicking links I heard a hook that sounded almost exactly like this, just with multiple octaves of bass in it. I've been listening to various forms of electronic music since my childhood, and I've SELDOM heard a hook like this get used.

  • And yeah, I know it was done by the guy who made music from JJ2

  • reminds me of jazz jackrabbit 2

  • JC Denton is the biggest badass of all time

  • I'm smoking a cigar right now.. and I feel like the Godfather...

  • Obey!

  • @MrZebub Duty! Honor!

  • when i played deus ex, i usually evaded enemies as much as possible

playing through levels multiple times, i kept finding better ways, and surprisingly easy new solutions

it is actually possible to make it through the game without killing or sedating a person (outside of cutscenes (anna navarre))

cloaking and the see-through-walls aug are extremely useful

  • Ah yes, the classic music of Deus Ex. DX:HR has some beautiful and moving music (and a much better engine) but I appreciate the bits of the original game's score that comes out of radios here and there. I may just have to fire up the 2000 game after I finish HR.

  • Do you work in psionics? You look like you might have the gift.

  • best way to kill MIB's : zap'em! :D

  • @mrMTronny Sniper rifle headshot. Instant kill.

  • @StarGreg yeah it kills them,but it's too noisy,and you can't collect their weapons.

  • @mrMTronny haha ya same with the GEP gun which was one of my faves but it would make the dude explode and u wouldnt be able to get his weapons id only do that when i absolutely had to cuz normally i tried to use stealth which is supposed to be how the game is played really like Thief (which is made by some of the same people) but oh well sometimes i just gotta say "Give me the GEP gun"

  • Deus Ex has it all. Gameplay, atmosphere, music. But it isnt Deus Ex I praise but legendary creator Warren Spector and the music composers

  • I'll have this playing during a Hostile Takeover if I ever become a CEO

  • @karnin655 - It is - Soundtrack out on youtube & it is brilliant!

  • i hope to god that the music in the new one is just as good...

  • @TheJib555 Obviously, your a youngin if you don't know what this game is.

  • @tablaylock

    /trolled

  • @TheJib555 trolololol

  • @TheJib555 suck on the halo....... noob kid

  • @TheJib555 horrible trolling/10.

  • @TheJib555 you may have said this two weeks ago, but that ain't gonna' stop me from responding with; Fail, Troll is Fail.

  • @TheJib555 What the fuck is a "Halo"? Jesus had one, but not sure how you play that :s

Never played the game, but the HR trailer fascinated me, so I think I might get to it... first play in 2011 :)

  • Love the tune at 1:14, has that melancholic/nostalgic feel.

  • Welcome to Versalife - we make tomorrow look like yesterday

  • @GlennoMr ... That has to be the most epic motto ive ever heard

  • @GlennoMr Actually I laughed hard when I heart the motto, "so you make 2100 look like 1800? oh, wow"

  • Old men... are the future!

But so is real life Deus Ex! ( "O.o)

  • do you guys know the level where you go on that boat? well, there is an elevater that you have to take up to the roof of a building. once at the top, i accidentally fell down to a beem right below and i was stuck there. i couldnt jump cause it was too far down. i accidentally quick saved and i didnt have another save game since the china level so i had to do that part all over again. how lame :/

  • 2 people didn't appreciate being shot by JC Denton.

  • @TectonInd JC Denton doesn't shoot people.

    He sticks to the prod.

  • Halo name near "Deus ex"?fucking dye in hell!

  • AH SWEET FUCKING NOSTALGIA

  • Sounds like a place where evil men plot evil deeds.

  • Didn't get a jot of work done today...

I was kinda busy listening to this song :P

  • Fuck... now I MUST reinstall it

  • You work with psyoneeks? You look like you could have the geeft.

  • Welcome to Versalife

  • Go in all sneaky with lockpicks and multitools and then say fuck it get the gep gun load the HE rockets fuck yeah this game owns!

  • Why game musics are often better then regular musicians' products? Deus Ex1, GTA3...

  • @uvamozk

It's probably due to the lack of terrible lyrics.

  • @Avirosb

yes, seems ur right, here, in game - is gameplay - instead of words in regular songs...

  • The part that begins at 00:38 is absolute magic to my ears...It just screams "DEUS EX!"

  • I remember back when I was 13 when this came out I KNEW that this was the best game ever made. Words cannot express the feelings I get when I hear this music. This was definately the defining game of a lifetime.

  • damn I played this game over 9000 times and I know every conversation by heart, Im still playing it until Human Revolutions release...... god damn Im inpatient

  • ICARUS FOUND YOU!!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!! ICARUS FOUND YOU!!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!! ICARUS FOUND YOU!!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!! ICARUS FOUND YOU!!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!! ICARUS FOUND YOU!!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!! ICARUS FOUND YOU!!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!! ICARUS FOUND YOU!!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!! ICARUS FOUND YOU!!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!! ICARUS FOUND YOU!!! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!!!

  • Oh YEAH this game definitely shits all over Halo. This game is cerebral, whereas Halo is for drooling console 'tards. Motherfucking period.

  • @ZakTheRipper18 Hear hear

  • @ZakTheRipper18

Bwhahaha, let's not fuck Halo up the ass just because we blow Deus Ex.

  • I have the sudden urge to Molotov the White House while screaming "Wake Up". 2000 all over again. :)

  • The world would be a better place if every office had Deus Ex music.

  • I used the dragon tooth and some defensive augmentations and cleared out the entire building like a ninja.

  • This song should loop over and over again in any office.

  • Ipsa Scientia Potestas Est.

  • There's something about Versalife's music that I can't get enough of.

  • Oh my god stop saying Halo's a bad game.... seriously, why are you saying it on a deus ex video anyway? They're entirely different games, sometimes i feel like getting totally lost/absorbed into the world of deus ex with its amazing atmosphere and mystery, and sometimes i just want the instant gratification of killing shit in Halo CE (i couldn't care less about the sequels). At any rate, saying halo is shit is like saying you have a big cock, if you have to say it, chances are it isn't even true

  • @Loveshock12 Totally irrelevant point QFT.

  • Comment removed

  • @cbuma wow way to go spastic at me and then add "you're not worth talking to"..... soooooo i take it you didn't pass sixth grade, which might explain why you're so friendly, open minded and not combative ;) btw your entire sentence you wrote is completely irrelevant and the only person i see being naive about something is you ;) think about it :)

  • @Loveshock12 No, you see, it's cool to hate Halo and Call of Duty and anything popular!

Seriously, I've seen someone say the same thing about Halo and EarthBound. EARTHBOUND. That makes even less sense than comparing Halo and Deus Ex.

I see too many "____ series is better than Halo." comments. Why is everything compared to Halo now? (And no, I'm not a big Halo fan)

  • @Masz52

Because so many people began their gaming with Halo, believing it to be the greatest masterpiece ever made. It's only natural that in their still short history of video-gaming they are comparing everything to Halo. I mean, I still subconciously compare every FPS I play to Doom II, and I compare every single RTS I play to the first Red Alert. And usually the newer games don't even get close. Such is the power of cherry poppers ^^

  • @Loveshock12 Halo's Gathered hate is because of a single fact.

    it got a 10/10.

    DX got a 9/10.

That being said, halo is NOT a bad game or series, they should rank high and be respected games, and even from someone like me who hates there playstyle or premise, there still above 7 in the 10 scale cause what they do, they do well.

Halo only got hate cause public sourses hail it as the best game ever, and it is not that. Calling it superior than deus ex is stupid, even for someone who hates DX.

  • I love all the statements about Halo, how it sucks and all, and even comparing it to Deus Ex which is pretty ridiculous.

  • Too bad there might not be a game as good as this one

  • Reinstalling that game... i must... Deus Ex !

  • to all the people who like HALO more, there are only 2 possible things I can say:

Maybe you should get a job

    What a shame!

  • @Plausiblesarge "What a shame" would be it ;)

  • This game is frikin' unique! Best game ever!

  • i kinda like how it has an unreal back beat "unreal the game NO NOT UNREAL FUCKING TOURNAMENT I MEAN THE ORIGINAL GAME THAT GOT TOURNAMENT SELLING CUZ IT COULDNT STAND ON ITS OWN TWO FEET)

  • @grekor84

Unreal - (not the fucking tournament) was a very great game

  • goosebumps 0:50-1:02

  • "Account: MJ12"

    "Password:coupdetat"

    -access denied

*gets torn to shreds by machineguns*

  • I think somthing that got everyone on there first play through was when you cut a MiB with the dragon tooth and forgot they exploded as they killed you. You then remembered you last saved about 3 hours ago.

  • @Rebel66099 exactly XD

  • @Rebel66099 Yep! I LOVE THIS GAME.

  • @Rebel66099 lmao yeah thats happened to us all, but jeeeeez dude. i save probably every 5-10 minutes, or everytime i see an enemy and he doesnt see me

  • @Rebel66099 I hated that.

  • @Rebel66099 I'm on my first playthrough and that didn't get me, I quicksave every minute

  • @Rebel66099 what a shame

  • @Rebel66099 haha

always save BEFORE you do something dangerous, not after

  • @Rebel66099 So fucking true! Dx

  • @Rebel66099

    Meh.

On my first playthrough I quicksaved every 30 seconds and saved every 5 minutes.

I had like 1170 save files at the end.

  • @gsdfczx I did that too... unfortunately I installed wrong so every one of my saves were over 70 MB. had like 20 gigs in deus ex folder and I was like O_o

  • @Rebel66099 I would put on sprint augs and run away really fast after slashing them :P

  • @Rebel66099 sorry but that never happened to me. I always remember to save

  • @Rebel66099 Yeah but what annoyed me is that when you changed level it says "saving" so I initially presumed it was autosaving...

  • way to do this is plant a gas grenade just outside the guard door stand behind the guard by the desk shoot him then the receptionist then the guy by the lift then the other 3 whilst they are rubbibg their eyes

  • It looks like the Versalife secretary snuck in here to press the dislike button. Good thing I cap her every playthrough.

  • @jacobkosh really? i prod her, i figure shes not part of the expirements downstairs, the scientists on the other hand, they all got a taste of the dragons tooth, in fact i hit them all until the exploded into guts

  • @MjXllcommando If you hack her email it turns out she's a company spy who's there to figure out which employees are "disloyal." So basically she gets people killed, so I figure justice demands that she dies.

  • Wonder if Deus Ex: Solid Snake Revelution will even come near the perfection the first game was..

  • my gosh, there is 1 dislike! Shame on you whoever doesn't think this is freakin' EPIC!

  • smashthestate

  • This is 1 of the best games i ever played in my life, PC & PS2 ,i'm waiting 4 the next Xbox360 Deus ex 3 Human Revolotion..also on PC & PS3 i think..oh and the Music is Bad Ass THX 4 posting this :)

  • This is epic - Deus ex game of year 2000

  • @specter130ac I'd rather say game of mankind

  • Nervous Employee: If you see Hundley, kill him. I bet you could do it.

    JC: Already killed him.

    Nervous Employee: You what?!...

JC: I already killed him, part of an intelligence operation.

    Nervous Employee: ...

  • this soundtrack is like crack

  • @creedencelearwater The is track is like Crack? I'm a junkie to all the DX 1 tracks. And the action gives me serious ardrenine

  • Did anyone read Tom Chick's negative review of Deus Ex? It never answered the one question I had about his review: "Which game from that era got everything right that Deus Ex didn't?" I think he also praised "SiN" in that review; apparently the man loves "run and gun" games. I feel like he only wrote it to stir the pot and get his name out.

  • You can rap to certain parts of this song.

  • @MyFoodIsBad but of course it takes talent....

  • @LimeLou michiel van den bos and alexander brandon are the ones who do the music.

  • This comment is for everyone who fought their way through MJ12 commandos and G-Men, only to get raped by a security guard on their way out...

  • "Welcome to Versalife. Me make tomorrow look like yesterday"

  • Super tight.

  • The part at 1:17 is just amazing

  • This is best song of the game. Well probably theme is better, but I heard it too many times thanks to slow speeds of late 90s computers.

  • As soon as this song came up, I got my spy Mojo on with all the squinted eyes and everything! XDD

  • @LimeLou

You like this even more than the UNATCO theme? And "Enemy Within"?

I mean, I couldn't pick my favourite if I tried among these brilliant pieces of music.

  • i fucking hated those MJ12 troopers holding their hands all the time up launching rockets. fuck damn.

  • @bloodcorer

Dragons tooth takes them out, and after that a quick regeneration and way to go!

  • Albert Wesker of Resident Evil is JC Denton's corrupt wayward son.

  • check my channel i've made remixed this tune in a much better way.. peace :)

  • In the right hands, this could be an awesome hip-hop tune

  • the code is 6512

    kill my boss

    your boss is already dead

  • Welcome to Versalife. We make tomorrow look like yesterday.

  • -100 credits to visit verslife labs.

    - sorry no cash today. may be later

  • That percussion and some of the melody sounds are so typical for games with the old Unreal engine. I wonder why they restricted themselves to that. Sounds fantastic all the same.

  • This is my favorite track off the soundtrack, someone should remix an extended club version.

  • "Readings all over the scan. What's the deal?!" ~ MJ12 Commando.

  • @rgm1984

    JC

    MOTHERFUCKING

    DENTON

    THAT'S THE DEAL MOTHERFUCKER

  • i'll give you the code ,if you kill my boss

  • @hhhxxxhhh your boss is already dead.

  • 6 times I went through this game.... about to be 7. And there's still new things I'm finding as I go through, little details that make the game even greater. Best FPS/RPG I've ever player that's for sure.

  • then try the shifter mod and then try the nameless mod

  • Considering the game was made in early 2000 and focused more on story than Halo..I'd give the better game award to Deus Ex.

  • Well, like, that's just like, your opinion, man.

    .jpg

  • It's not what most people think who've played both games :)

  • Of course not it was clear that I was trolling.

  • meh, ive seen stupider comments made by serious posters,

  • lmoa...graphics don't make the game. I had this game since 2006! And it never gets, maybe try playing yourself. :P

  • wtf? halo 1 was good but after that it turned into a generic "kill everything" shooter with no new additions whatsoever. Halo 3 sucked ass, the campaign was boring and i barely cared about the story at the end because i was so sick of the repetetive gameplay. Deus Ex is an RPG, its not based on having a good physics engine, and half life has a better physiscs engine than both games.

  • Halo 3 was a great game actually, and I thought it was quite changing during every levels, it felt fresh. But hey that's just me maybe. Or no it isn't. Anyways, Deus Ex is still the best FPS ever made.

  • idk, first off i thought the graphics were weak for xbox 360, the controls felt very samey, i just didnt find the campaign that engaging, the multiplayer was fun, but then again, COD4 had a very generic campaign and i enjoyed that a lot (MW2 had a shit one though) so i guess its all personal preference.

  • Alright then. Yes, it's a personal preference.

  • Not really an FPS but you're right all the same.

  • It is a first person shooter where you don't have to shoot, mainly due to the RPG elements and many playing styles.

  • Action RPG would be the genre I would label Deus Ex.

  • this song reminds me of the music from Unreal...

which also was an awesome game

  • First game I ever played and I played it in German! Still love it

  • I first played it when I was seven or so, and has remained one of my favourite games. Almost 16 now and it saddens me to think how dumbed down the gaming community has become. Can't beat a game like this. Sure Halo has amazing music and better graphics, but it doesn't hold a candle to Deus Ex.

  • was still playing quake 2 expansion packs when this came out; with software rendering. brought a new computer, brought the game purely because the box-art was minimalist and the title sounded meaningful.

Best game I ever spent money on.

  • halos music stinks ..compared to this

  • I had the same problem in that warehouse, a shitstorm of guards noticed me, while my legs were broken, and I barely survived the level, actually i skipped it and found the code instead. XD

  • "Even" better? Try 1 billion times better than halo. The only thing halo has on deus ex is its orchestral score.

  • honestly i prefer deus ex more than the halo series.

  • As you should. For the intelligent player that can truly wrap his mind around some of the story concepts really has alot to learn and be excited about. Thats why i still play Deus Ex to this day, and take alot of pleasure from it. Combat - Nothing Special.. the addition of weapon upgrades really made it for me. But script writing, so much better than the last metal spartan courageously smiting the lil' grunts of the covenant with his duel wielding smg's.

  • i agree with that part of the game

  • @SlimzProductionz Please, no need to even mention Halo, sir.

  • @mark84j why?, its a good game, there both fantastic games, i like to make comparassions beetween two games that are great, so i can say how great is the game im comparing.

  • @SlimzProductionz just about any pc fps is

  • @bman462 depends, the game n particular is, but not all of them.

  • @SlimzProductionz EVERYTHING is better than halo.

  • @PirateNaziZombie depends, hae you played halo 3?, its not that bad, but this game is greatly better.

  • Yes, but halo is painted so blandly with its concrete gray and metal blue all over the place. I just can't see anyone attracted to it.

  • @SlimzProductionz And Halo sucks.

  • @DrBob1991 honestly, it cant be compared in excelency to this game, this game is the best, but in my opinion, halo isnt a bad game at all, what it lacks is story telling,
