So, I finally got around to seeing the new Karate Kid, and was really pleased to find out that it was the story all about how Jaden Smith's life got flipped turned upside down. You see, he was chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool, shooting some b-ball outside of his school when a couple of guys (who were up to no good) started making trouble in his neighborhood. He got in one little fight and his mom got scared! And said "You're going to learn kung-fu from the maintenance man downstairs"
I have nothing against Jackie Chan.. but this can't top the original karate kid. Not even close. For one the fighting you see here isnt karate, it's kung foo.. why they are calling it karate is beyond me. It can insult many people.. Number 2.... The student should not be this young.. Barely out of diapers and trying to hit it off with a girl at 10 years old? Yeah... sure... Number 3.. Jaden Smith is probably only in this movie given who his father is.. Nuff said there

@storm0fnova 1) Because the point of it is the trainee doesn;'t understand the ways of kung fu and asn't been exposed to it. If they were asian they would know more about it and tjhe audience wouldn't see the adventure as exciting.
2) In Asia and alot of European country english is a compulsory class.
I think everyone is missing a lot of the audio effects in this film... particularly in the very last shot. So try to see it again at kookíca to catch all the details. And while i thoroughly enjoyed the film, and at the time was very caught up in it, reflection over the past few days has left a really satisfied feeling.
My group and I walked out at 2:30 a.m. and headed to a 24 hour family restaurant because we were just too wired to get to sleep. We saw movie later at kookíca again. I saw an english version of this briliant movie on moovi.co.cc... In terms of story telling, it is one of the greatest movies for me. I enjoyed every second of it.

The plot is great, I love their producers, they really make the film what it is, a true blockbuster. It starts so well and really becomes great. @storm0fnova 1) Because the point of it is the trainee doesn;'t understand the ways of kung fu and asn't been exposed to it. If they were asian they would know more about it and tjhe audience wouldn't see the adventure as exciting.
2) In Asia and alot of European country english is a compulsory class.

I think everyone is missing a lot of the audio effects in this film... particularly in the very last shot. So try to see it again at kookíca to catch all the details. And while i thoroughly enjoyed the film, and at the time was very caught up in it, reflection over the past few days has left a really satisfied feeling.

My group and I walked out at 2:30 a.m. and headed to a 24 hour family restaurant because we were just too wired to get to sleep. We saw movie later at kookíca again. I just saw it and it is NOT a masterpiece, but rather an intelligent look at perspective to greed among humnas. The acting was well done. The script is definitly a possible oscar nom but in no way is it among the top 20 films ever or anything else. All in all pretty good movie so get it on kòòkica and see it.
