I was at the funeral of a fellow sophomore's brother today...I never knew the brother..but when they played this while the casket was being carried out and the choir sang it and everyone was crying, I almost cried myself. it's a song somewhere between sorrow and happiness..and at a funeral...really moving.

i am currently struggling of myself. I see a lot of faults and negatives within myself. I have had a lot of problems involving my family and I want to blame everything to myself. I can't focus on my studies well. But here I am, nothing else to hold on to but God, asking him guidance. This song is definitely uplifting. Praise the Lord.

This recently played at communion, made it that much better. But unfortunately, the ther is some ridicule that has poisoned the comments on this song. Just remember what Bishop Fulton Sheen said, "He who throws mud loses his own ground." So whatever your belief is, this is a great song, if you don't like it, or the Catholic Church you do not have to post nasty comments, just move on. The bitterness you have does not have to be all you will ever have.

I've always loved this song and thought it was pretty since the first time i heard it, but now it means so much more. This song was played at my dad's funeral this summer. He died on June 28,2011 (he was technically pronounced on the 29th but for me it was the 28) of a heart attack. He was 52 and it was out of the blue and completely unexpected.

9 months ago I was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer stage 3b. I found this song and put it on my ipod. I could never get through it without crying. I played it the whole time I went through chemo, surgery and radiation....I imagined Angels were singing it to me and they surrounded me. Still could not play it without tears. Today I can sing it without tears......I am in remission... Thank you God!

@judecedrick136 This was played at my Grandfather's funeral.. He was a strong Catholic and I saw him sufferefrom Liver cancer for my whole summer in 2008 then he passed on 8-14-08. This is for him and people like him. Their families will need a beautiful song like this to remember that they are never alone even in this time of grief. "I love you and you are mine."

@nonjusticiable LOL She's Filipino. Our parents have been known to do funny things to our names... combine them, name us after things that make them happy... lol i.e. Bubbles... Mari-Vic (Maria & Victor combined)... I had a friend name Apple in school and I've known a Precious. I'm Filipina... but not named Bubbles. Not that there's anything wrong with your name Sr. Bubbles.. =D

@Patriarch00 Where exactly does the Church say that every hymn must contain the word "God"?
Who said "Do not be afraid"? Who is speaking in Isaiah 43? Who said "Stand up and walk"? Who calls us home to His Father's house? Obviously this song is all about God. Implicit references are totally permitted by the Church.

I love this song!
9 months ago I was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Breast Cancer stage 3b. I found this song and put it on my ipod. I could never get through it without crying. I played it the whole time I went through chemo, surgery and radiation....I imagined Angels were singing it to me and they surrounded me. Still could not play it without tears. Today I can sing it without tears......I am in remission... Thank you God!

i like this song.. thinking to sing on my mom and dad's 50th wedding anniv... even my dad (he passed away 1 month before their golden wedding anniversary celebration) cannot join on his golden anniv i still ask the choir to sing instead.. hopefully they can sing this song as dedicated to my dad and mom. Dad i know wherever you are now we know you are happy and in peace.. You will stay in ouur heart forever. Miss you.

@judecedrick136 This was played at my Grandfather's funeral.. He was a strong Catholic and I saw him sufferefrom Liver cancer for my whole summer in 2008 then he passed on 8-14-08. This is for him and people like him. Their families will need a beautiful song like this to remember that they are never alone even in this time of grief. "I love you and you are mine."
