if i try to boot it i get to the apple logo and then i get a circle with a strike in it, if i boot it in verbose mode it repeats "still waiting for root device" over and over.
if i can install i know i'll need to enable the amd patch so i think i will have to unplug the external hard drive after installation before the reboot and then hook it up to my amd machine and reboot it off that.
sorry if this seems like a jumbled mess of words but i'm in a hurry right now.
ok, so ideneb refuses to work on my amd 64 machine. but it installs fine on my mom's intel laptop. i can't even get to the blue ideneb screen on my computer.
so if i hook up an external hard drive to my mom's laptop, boot the ideneb dvd on the laptop, and install mac os to the external hard drive and then boot the external hard drive on my amd machine will it work or does it have to be run on the same machine that installed it?
Thats not really a big deal. Just reinstall os x on your external hard drive. only next time, shutdown the computer completely before you remove the drive.
quick question if i bought a mac os x leopard disk a store bought one can i run it on just the external hard drive or do i have to use IPC OSX86 and go through the driver crap
I havent tried to install osx with a retail disk.I think you can install it to an external hard drive, but you will have to install all of your drivers yourself.Its best to just use iPC.

@hylian11
just move your external hard drive to the top of your boot list in your bios.
