I know you said all that stuff, and yes this is Martha's point of view and blah blah blah, but honestly, I think it's sooo true! Martha fought for him, you know what I mean? And she was in his corner until the end! And I know Rose was with him first, but if the Doctor hadn't been so blinded he honestly could have loved her, and it would have been awesome.
@Xenite Yes, that was the whole thing during season 3. The Doctor did have feelings for Martha. He liked her, but he couldn't move on from his past. He was so tired of losing everything: his planet, his companions, his people, and then Rose too... that he pushed Martha away on purpose. He liked her and he that's why he was so cruel to her all season. He didn't want to lose another person that he cared about. Especially after so soon after losing Rose. Losing Rose hurt him deeply and having
@Xenite the memory so fresh in his mind let him keep his distance from Martha. However, this all backfired in the end. He ended up caring about Martha in the end anyway and then it REALLY hurt when he lost her because he didn't have any good times with her to look back on because he kept pushing her away. It also must have hurt him pretty bad that Martha walked out of there the happiest we're ever seen her. Rose and Donna basically had to be dragged off the TARDIS. Martha walked out that door
@Xenite willingly with a grin on her face and joy in her heart that she was going back to the people who truly cared about her. That must have really hurt the Doctor. He never got to know this remarkable woman who saved his life so many times because he pushed her away and it was all his fault. Right when he was ready to let her into his life, she left him. He missed out on something wonderful because he was too busy focusing on the past. That's why he changed back into the good Doctor
@Xenite again after she left. It hurt him to lose her and he had to live with knowing that it was all his fault that he lost her. Anyway, other people have seemed to miss Martha's whole story line completely. Maybe they were too busy complaining about her to pay attention...I don't know. I agree with you, I thought Martha was an amazing companion. The whole 'the Doctor could have loved Martha thing, yeah that could have happened, but that was the whole point. The Doctor was too busy crying
@Xenite over the past to see all the good things right in front of him. You can't do anything about the past, but the here and now you can. Martha taught him that very important lesson and he won't soon forget it and he'll never take another companion for granted ever again because of it. I'm tired and I'm really not doing this summary of season 3 justice, but I hope I atleast got my point across. Honestly though, I'm SO glad the Doctor and Martha didn't end up together! Martha deserved
@pirate505218 I love and adore Martha. She's my favorite companion, but when it comes to relationships: Rose/Doctor>>>>>>>>>>Doctor/Martha. Because Martha deserved a lot better than him. Atleast he was good to Rose...
@0RainbowProductions No it shouldn't. This is my view. Rose DOES belong with the Doctor. Everbody knows that (or just lets say they do). This video is about Martha believing the Doctor belongs to her. She thinks she knows the Doctor as much as - if not better than - Rose. The whole 'bleachers' things shows how Rose is superior to Martha. And the video gives no indication of the Doctor's POV. So there is nothing to say the Doctor prefers either of them. This is just Martha crushing on the Doctor.
I love the bond between Rose & Doctor, but as a single character I prefer Martha. The song is so perfect for her! You made a great job with this video!
I guess I have to agree with the majority of everyone. I'm a bigger fan of Rose and it's knda not fair that ur dissing Rose coz she suited the doctor much better. He didn't cry when Martha left! Thats just my opinion..
@MarcusSLazarus But he didn't know that until the very end, and before, even when she went out for the first time and came back, he didn't look a bit teary.
@Elanel Martha left on her own and had a valid reason for doing so, whereas Rose tried to stay with him and was yanked away at the last minute; it's still not the same
@thebluepenguin98 They are not 'dissing' Rose. The person who made this actually thinks that Rose/Doctor should be together. Romana was better for the Doctor than anyone. Martha and the Doctor shouldn't be together because she deserves better than the Doctor. He was a jerk to her the entire time. Atleast he was nice to Rose... I'd say Doctor/Rose>>>>Doctor/Martha anyday. The Doctor was good to Rose and he just treated Martha like his footstool. He didn't cry when Martha left so he
@thebluepenguin98 doesn't care about her? What? Why would he cry when Martha left? Rose was torn away from him and she was now trapped in a parallel world. He was never going to get to see her again. Not to mention, it probably hurt him to know that Rose was hurting and trapped in this world that wasn't her own. Martha left willingly to go take care of her family. The music for that scene is even called 'Martha Victorius'. Rose had a sad ending where she was trapped and unhappy. Martha
@thebluepenguin98 had a happy ending where she got out of the abusive relationship she was in and she choose to what she needed over what she wanted. It was a happy ending. Not for the Doctor, but oh well. He was happy for her. It was a bittersweet moment. He was clearly unhappy that Martha had left him, but at the same time he couldn't help smiling and feeling happy for her because she made the right choice and she got out of there to go take care of her family! Martha's ending was happy.
@thebluepenguin98 She finally accepted herself for who she was and she realized her family did really care about her. She left the TARDIS with a grin on her face and joy in her heart walking away from the disaster of a life she just experienced...but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I can't figure out for the life of me why you're comparing Rose's and Martha's scenes of them leaving when they were completely different situations. Rose's was upsetting and tragic and Martha's was
@thebluepenguin98 victorius, triumphant, happy. The Doctor didn't cry when Martha left because he was happy for her. It's kind of cruel that you all say the Doctor didn't care at all about Martha obviously because he didn't cry when she left. The Doctor cares about all his companions and I bet you Martha's goodbye hurt him the worst. Donna and Rose had to be dragged off the TARDIS and Martha walked away from him willing and the happiest we're ever seen her. He didn't even get to know her.
@thebluepenguin98 Atleast he had good times to remember with Rose and Donna. He didn't have any with Martha. He took her for granted and he lost on getting to know that amazing woman who saved his life time and time again. If you're talking about who the Doctor loved-Rose. He liked Martha but he couldn't fall in love with her because he purposely pushed her away so he didn't have to suffer when he lost her too, but it backfired and he ended up caring about Martha anyway and then she
@thebluepenguin98 left him. He took her for granted and he paid the price. Truly sorry for the long message. I didn't realize how long it was getting...kidn of got out of hand.
A VERY accurate assessment of the Doctor, Rose and Martha's relationship really; Rose might have been the one the Doctor 'dated'- or at least more obviously thought about in THAT sense-, but, when you get down to it, Martha was the one who really UNDERSTOOD him (She WAS the first companion he actually talked about Gallifrey with since the Time War, after all)
@MarcusSLazarus The Doctor willingly told Rose about the Time War on their second adventure, whereas Martha had to force it out of him on their third.
@Elanel He told Rose that he was the last of the Time Lords after a war, and that was it; he told Martha he was the last Time Lord, who they fought in the war that resulted in their extinction, AND some details about his planet; Rose got the bare bones of the story earlier, but Martha got the real MEAT of the situation, which puts her ahead in my book
@MarcusSLazarus Martha asked more questions. And did you notice the difference of emotions? When he told Rose, he was calm, solemn, collected. When he told Martha, he was tearing up. The Tenth Doctor is more vulnerable, AND he was at a more vulnerable time, being more reminiscent about his planet then. I think it was just his time to tell her the full story.
And he /did/ tell Rose the full story later. Otherwise she wouldn't've known all she did when she confronted the daleks.
@Elanel Exactly; Rose preferred to see the Doctor as the 'dream', while Martha was more interested in him as a PERSON.
Telling Rose about the Time War after she had evidence of what had taken place- the fight with the Dalek in Van Statten's base left the Doctor with NO other choice but to tell her- isn't the same as telling Martha because she wants to know.
For me, that shows that the Doctor was more willing to open up to Martha; she 'blackmailed' him to start, but he still KEPT talking
@MarcusSLazarus So because Rose didn't want to pry more into a painful subject to the Doctor that means she wasn't interested in him as a person?
We're ignoring the time difference here. Lots of people are more willing to talk about a painful event when more time has passed. For the ninth Doctor, it was obviously very recent. It looked like he'd regenerated just before the first episode, from what he was saying.
@Elanel Sorry, I'm clinging to what argument, and what arguments are there for Rose?
Besides, sometimes it's good to talk about painful subjects; my point is that Rose simply accepted the Doctor as he was, while Martha- as all good relationships should- challenged him to be more
@MarcusSLazarus So did Rose, except not in the tell-me-all-the-painful-secrets-of-your-grief-right-now department. The Doctor and that first dalek, remember? The series kept going on about how Rose made him better.
@Elanel Citing series examples, Rose only ever REACTED to the Doctor and accepted what he had to offer (The Dalek issue only came up because it came up); Martha stood up to him when he didn't talk about certain subjects when she knew that he had to talk about them if he wanted to recover and if they were going to have any kind of friendship
@MarcusSLazarus This is actually true. RTD did say that Martha helped the Doctor confront his life rather than run from it like the Doctor and Rose were doing. However, I don't know what this discussion is about and I'm guessing it's who is better for the Doctor? In my opinion, it isn't either Rose or Martha, but if I had to choose it would be Rose. Martha deserved better, she could do better, and she did.
I'm a Rose girl, but I think this song is really great for them and it fits much better then the rose/doctor vids to this song because it DOESN'T WORK that way.
I just don't like that it makes Rose a bad guy, except that's how the song is, not your video.5/5!
this was good, but i wish ppl could use rose in that pink dress (the tv monsters ep) as the "cheerleader", and with martha's "bleachers" would be when she is talking to everybody in that apartment about the doctor (Saxon ep)
lol, i don't have the equipment or paitience to make vids like this! lol. i just like to comment and think of what else would work. <3 it was funny cuz nobody had used rose's pink dress for "cheerleader", its interesting, i thought at least somebody would, but no. lol. keep up the fab work! these things are truly wonderful.
I'm for Ten/Martha. I liked it how you didn't end it with them being together, you ended it where they weren't together but she still loved him. Martha does understand him more, I think.
If that was what you were getting at with the end?
Yeah, I think Martha does understand the Doctor more from what she went through in Last of the Timelords and Sound of Drums - She travelled on her own to save the world just like the Doctor did.
@PurpleMewMewGirl How does she understand him more? At the end of the series, if you pay attention, she kept snapping at him more and more. "I'll do what I like!" "It's all your fault!"
@Elanel I think Martha and Rose understood him both just fine. So the doctor treats Martha like a footstool all season and you don't have one problem with that, but you're going to bash Martha for getting worked up when her family is in danger? The 'It's all your fault' was uncalled for, but I'm glad Martha finally stood up to him and said 'I'll do what I like!' It's not very often that Martha does stand up for herself. Rose freaked out like that the first time her family was in danger too.
@Meangrl19 Like a footstool? He treated her like she was acting. He was still grieving for Rose, and even though he made it clear that he didn't want her like that, she kept throwing herself at him, with the "well, you're the one that kissed me","unless you know the word 'rebound'", etc. I don't ever recall him treating her worse than his other companions. And the Doctor was trying to save lives, not boss her around! And what episode of Rose's are we talking about? First? (cont)
@Elanel Yeah, he did treat her worse than the other companions! He treated her wrose than any companion he ever had. RTD and Tennant even confirm this on the confidentials. The Doctor was always talking down to her! She didn't keep throwing herself at him. Maybe you need to rewatch the show. She never threw herself at him. She flirted with him twice, the one time she was intoxicated. She quickly found out thaat he had no interest in getting together with her and she backed off.
@Elanel I don't know where you're getting this threw herself at her at from. He was always treating her worse than the other companions., Do us a favor watch the show and the confidentials because it will just be easier for them to explain it to you then me. In the episode Rose after Mickey was just 'killed' Rose freaked out on him and they had a big arguement scene inside/outside the TARDIS. Rose also called her mom to make sure she was alright when the Nestene were taking over and no one
@Elanel yelled at her, but Martha gets b*tched at. The point is, Martha yelling at him once doesn't mean she's an evil person. She yeelled at him because she was scared and she balmed herself for her family being in danger. She was upset and angy at herslef and she let herslef take it out on someone else. That's alright because the Doctor was taking out his anger and fear on her the entire season. I'm sorry for the long message.
I do think Martha and Rose all understood the Doctor in a different way. Martha understood the loss of Gallifrey and the loss of Rose, and how hard that bruised him, and I think when she left she understood that he'd never love her the same as Rose. While Rose understood the whole regenerating thing and how to love him. Anyway, loved the vid!!!! :) PS--Haven't seen a good Martha vid in a while. You've inspired me to write a fanfic! :P Hope u dont mind!
Im a Ten/martha fangirl great vid im not a ten/rose not liking her much i dont mean i dnt like her i like her but i think the doc goes better with martha
Love Martha and Rose-except I hate that they're bringing her back, cos that's why I love her so much... she's so sad!! I remember watching The Runaway Bride and just bawling everytime she was mentioned!!
PS: Can't stand Donna, never will like her! But I understand if you do!
I loved the clips you used from Series 3, they were excellent choices and the music was a great choice too. I'm sorry, I didn't like the way the Doctor treated Martha, yet they were still so cute together. I wish RTD hadn't thought it necessary to hurt Martha's feelings so. They could have had a great time but broke up because Martha's family needed her after being tortured and imprisoned by the Master and not because the Doctor was a complete a*$hole to Martha. Excellent video - 5 Stars.
I LOVE seeing Martha Jones and The Doctor TOGETHER! Wow! What I like soo much about "You belong with me" is that you show Martha and The Doctor's simpatico, so to speak. Swift's song really compliments your take on this couple's relationship quite nicely. The editing was phenomenal.
"You Belong With Me (Martha/Doctor)" easily 5 stars. I'm favoriting this one!
I just to find her really annoying, because she was all jealous in series 3, and in series 4 she actedlike she was the be all and end all of everything. but she grew on me :P!
If you have seen the new make of doctor who with david tennant in it. Watched the seasons from 1-4. This is Martha's point of veiw she's perfect for the Doctor. Yet he loves Rose and she hates the fact in way they are still that unbreakable bond. Except Rose isn't there with him and she is. This is a very Martha thing. If you love doctor you have to watch it.
@Rose3217 Huh? Are you talking about the show or this video? On the show Martha thought she wasn't good enough for the Doctor. The whole season focuses around how she thinks she's worthless and the Doctor doesn't help by telling her she's worthless and making her feel that way constanly. She didn't hate Rose or her and the Doctor's unbreakable bond either. Martha thought Rose left him to be with her family and he was upset that Rose broke up with him. The Doctor never told her
@Rose3217 what really went on. Martha liked the Doctor and she thought he was just still upset over Rose breaking up with him. Martha learned quickly that he wasn't ready to move on from Rose though.
LOVE IT!

i hate martha she is so anoying i like rose the best. Doctor liked rose the best.
tabskerry 2 years ago
this was good, but i wish ppl could use rose in that pink dress (the tv monsters ep) as the "cheerleader", and with martha's "bleachers" would be when she is talking to everybody in that apartment about the doctor (Saxon ep)
DoctorDonna28 2 years ago
ARGH! Where were you when I was making the vid! lol, pink would have worked so much better. And yes so would the bleachers bit *hangs head in shame*
lol, thanks for commenting, I love to hear how other people would have done it (honest!) :D
NightTimeWish 2 years ago
lol, i don't have the equipment or paitience to make vids like this! lol. i just like to comment and think of what else would work.

PurpleMewMewGirl 2 years ago 2
Yeah, I think Martha does understand the Doctor more from what she went through in Last of the Timelords and Sound of Drums - She travelled on her own to save the world just like the Doctor did.
Thanks for commenting :)
NightTimeWish 2 years ago
@NightTimeWish But Rose travelled through multiple worlds.
Elanel 1 year ago
@PurpleMewMewGirl How does she understand him more? At the end of the series, if you pay attention, she kept snapping at him more and more. "I'll do what I like!" "It's all your fault!"
Elanel 1 year ago
@Elanel I think Martha and Rose understood him both just fine. So the doctor treats Martha like a footstool all season and you don't have one problem with that, but you're going to bash Martha for getting worked up when her family is in danger? The 'It's all your fault' was uncalled for, but I'm glad Martha finally stood up to him and said 'I'll do what I like!' It's not very often that Martha does stand up for herself. Rose freaked out like that the first time her family was in danger too.
Meangrl19 11 months ago
@Meangrl19 Like a footstool? He treated her like she was acting. He was still grieving for Rose, and even though he made it clear that he didn't want her like that, she kept throwing herself at him, with the "well, you're the one that kissed me","unless you know the word 'rebound'", etc. I don't ever recall him treating her worse than his other companions. And the Doctor was trying to save lives, not boss her around! And what episode of Rose's are we talking about? First? (cont)
Elanel 11 months ago
@Elanel Yeah, he did treat her worse than the other companions! He treated her wrose than any companion he ever had. RTD and Tennant even confirm this on the confidentials. The Doctor was always talking down to her! She didn't keep throwing herself at him. Maybe you need to rewatch the show. She never threw herself at him. She flirted with him twice, the one time she was intoxicated. She quickly found out thaat he had no interest in getting together with her and she backed off.
Meangrl19 11 months ago 3
@Elanel I don't know where you're getting this threw herself at her at from. He was always treating her worse than the other companions., Do us a favor watch the show and the confidentials because it will just be easier for them to explain it to you then me. In the episode Rose after Mickey was just 'killed' Rose freaked out on him and they had a big arguement scene inside/outside the TARDIS. Rose also called her mom to make sure she was alright when the Nestene were taking over and no one
Meangrl19 11 months ago
@Elanel yelled at her, but Martha gets b*tched at. The point is, Martha yelling at him once doesn't mean she's an evil person. She yeelled at him because she was scared and she balmed herself for her family being in danger. She was upset and angy at herslef and she let herslef take it out on someone else. That's alright because the Doctor was taking out his anger and fear on her the entire season. I'm sorry for the long message.
Meangrl19 11 months ago 5
@Meangrl19 (cont) She didn't accuse the Doctor for it, just told her mom to go home.

Loved it!!! :)

Thank you and yh, but he was a lot nicer to her after he lost her though wasn't he? Thanks for commenting x

I'm favoriting this one!

darkchick843 3 years ago
I just to find her really annoying, because she was all jealous in series 3, and in series 4 she actedlike she was the be all and end all of everything. but she grew on me :P!

If you have seen the new make of doctor who with david tennant in it. Watched the seasons from 1-4. This is Martha's point of veiw she's perfect for the Doctor. Yet he loves Rose and she hates the fact in way they are still that unbreakable bond. Except Rose isn't there with him and she is. This is a very Martha thing. If you love doctor you have to watch it.
Rose3217 3 years ago 4
@Rose3217 Huh? Are you talking about the show or this video? On the show Martha thought she wasn't good enough for the Doctor. The whole season focuses around how she thinks she's worthless and the Doctor doesn't help by telling her she's worthless and making her feel that way constanly. She didn't hate Rose or her and the Doctor's unbreakable bond either. Martha thought Rose left him to be with her family and he was upset that Rose broke up with him. The Doctor never told her
Meangrl19 11 months ago
@Meangrl19 When did the Doctor ever tell her she was worthless?
Elanel 11 months ago
@Rose3217 what really went on. Martha liked the Doctor and she thought he was just still upset over Rose breaking up with him. Martha learned quickly that he wasn't ready to move on from Rose though.
