I have a septate uterus too, and just had a breech vbac in that water at a birthing center. I am so glad you are sharing your story. Women need to know that surgery isn't the only option for a breech baby!

Thank you for posting this. I am in my 30th week of pregnancy and baby is breech. I am very nervous about the babies position. I was told I would have to have a c-section if baby did not turn and I have three prior children all delivered vaginally without medication...the last thing I wanted was a c-section.

@JDIJGKFuentesFamily But here's the thing: you have a "proven" pelvis (though I don't personally believe that we grow babies too large for us to birth save for rickets, a crushed pelvis or true diabetes), so you are an excellent candidate for a breech vaginal birth. What a lovely story, thanks for sharing. My daughter was breech from 28 weeks, could not be turned at 37 with ECV. I went into labour a few hours before c-section was scheduled and gave birth to her feet first. Only 7 years later did I find out I have a septate uterus, causing the breech position and low birth weight.

@karencarpenterdotcom Congrats! A friend of mine once reminded me that had it been many years ago, I would have just had breech babies and give birth to them. I'd never know that I had a unique uterus and stress about what that "means". I'm sorry about the low birth weight, but hope that she's well now!

@inginuity You weren't able to birth at home because she was breech? Either way, I'm so sorry. I've been there, realizing later that I had been misinformed. When my breech guy was born, my husband and I looked at each other, said that we wished our other two had been born this way, and then realized that their births had to happen the way they did for our youngest's to be what it was. Definitely check out the coalition for breech birth--you'll find lots of support there!

FANTASTIC...my 3rd baby was a natural breech birth.....She was only found to be in a breech position when i was 6 cm dilated..doctors wanted to c-section there and then but i refused...and the birth was fantastic..when she was born the midwife called her a *butterfly baby*.because she was an extended breech,when born she was still *folded in half*..but then she started to uncurl just like a butterflies wings...it was beautiful to watch .

My 3rd child was a vaginal breech birth.They only discovered baby was breech when i was in labour and 5cm dilated,They wanted to do a section but i refused..What a beautiful experience that birth was... :)

wow! beautiful!! I had a vaginal breech birth,with my second child,i was getting prepped for a c-sec, but he wasent waiting, he came out and i had absolutely No MEDS!! but as painful as it was,i wouldnt change it for a thing,i loved it....natural birth is the best...2 out of 3 of my kids were born natural and one breech...the best experience ever!!!! you go girl!!!!..very happy that you got to experience that!!!

Congratulations! I was separated from my c/s baby too and it broke my heart. I think the best thing about my HBAC was being the first to touch my baby and I didnt let her go for hours!

I was a breech born baby... and I turned out fine! I'm all for breech birth. Even though that was 28 years ago (I'm a January of 81 baby :) ! ) My mom says that she sees the difference between me and my older normal birth sisters. She says I'm more friendly, driven and I have the most positive, optimistic attitude that is rare to find. I try to tell her it's because I'm an Aquarius... My mom believes that it all comes from being born breech. :)

My baby is due in 4 days and turns constantly, but prefers breech, we had a successful ECV last week, but the baby went back to breech over the weekend. I have cried and cried, fear is put into women with breech babies that they will harm the baby if they try to deliver naturally. I have had two previous caesareans and I want to deliver naturally. My Ob says go for it, I am grateful for him. Thank you for your video, I know I can do this too.

How wonderful that you have a supportive OB--they are a very rare breed, particularly here in the US.

What a great story! I think doctors are too quick to try and get you to have c section if the baby is not in the right position. I refused a c section with my 1st breech baby and gave birth vaginally. My 3rd was breech transverse and I was told to have a c section again but refused and had a successful ECV and went on to have a home birth. I'm now expecting no. 4 and at 31 weeks still don't know what position the baby is in but planning a home birth anyway!

my doctor is telling me the baby can die thru a vagina breech. This video made me cry. I live in NJ highest c-section rate in the US. The the hospital I will attend has gotten court orders and involved DYFS for woman who deny C-section.

My baby is frank breech, gave birth natural to 1, 37 weeks pregno, no placenta problems etc.

All me and my fiance know is CPR and a bit of emergancy natural delivey things, definitely not enough to birth our selves at home.

I had one of my twins by cesarean (long story!) and when I got pregnant with my daughter I didn't realize how hard it would be to find a doctor willing to help me with my VBAC. I'm fortunate to have found one. The experience was wonderful! I lucked out and she turned, or my little girl would've been breech birth as well.

I was praised by the OB Professor at the LBJ learning hospital for seeking him out to have my vaginal breech delivery (The OB, my reg OB finally referred me to him, after absolutely refusing a c-section because the baby I was carrying was Breech) I delivered Frank Breech April 8th 08, a baby girl. It was Amazing, and I feel all the more empowered after sticking up for what I believe to be true and best for baby and mother. heres 2 thumbs up to you!!!
