Sega shifted from hardware and software to a purely software development. They make games for other systems, instead of their own. This does not constitute "buying out" a company. Now Rare, on the otherhand, was bought by Microsoft.

And no, this game was not a STFU to Nintendo gamers, but to the critics saying it could only do kiddy games.

He has other squirrels scurrying around - he shoots conkers, he burrows underground! as part of the game. That whale is great. It all appears much more livelier, organic and, obviously, colourful than CBFD. It makes me wonder whether Nintendo were partly inspired to use the idea of Twelve Tales themselves in Super Mario Sunshine (both games feature windmills for instance). But this game looks better.

Regardless of whether you like the finished CBFD, I personally find it a big shame that Conker Twelve Tales wasn't released (with that name - it's a good name, dividing it up in to chapters). Twelve Tales appears to be much more action oriented too. I love the way that Conker dresses up in different ways to fit the scenario- as a gladiator or cowboy for instance.

It's sad they changed this game into a disturbing slurry of nonsense similar to the original crap they show on Adult Swim. Does "Mature" really have to relate to something that seems like someone who's either a psychopath or a heavy-duty druggie made it? I find that very ridiculous. Why can't "Mature" be only games like GTA and such; because at least GTA games are realistically "Mature." They don't need to add crazy nonsense like they did with Conker's Bad Fur Day.

No game is realistic completely, and that's very, very obvious.. but Conker's Bad Fur Day is just sick and disturbing and outside the bounds of sanity. So, I wasn't referring to "realistic" as in real life, I was referring to it as a "realistic" in the terms of typical games.

Wow... hearing about the DD got me pretty excited. But what is actually is fails hard. (I got a 64DD with 7 games) My opinion: one should only get the DD if they're hardcore collectors. That's the only reason I have it.

Thats because conker was a kids game, the gbc game was a kids game, then once everything fell apart with the 64dd they thought they wanted to be remember for something other then a average platformer, so thats how conker was born.

Actually, it wasn't very successful, and the mature rating was the reason for that. Parents wouldn't buy the game for their kids.

It IS a great game, don't get me wrong, but sales wise, it didn't gel very well.

Actually...this was what Conkers Bad Fur Day was supposed to be. The game went through a dramtic change, due to bad feedback--calling it "another kiddie Nintnedo game". Conker BFD was basically a STFU to Nintendo gamers
