These 'flash mob' carol events taking place in shopping centres are entirely appropriate, since 'consumerism' and shopping appear to be almost a religious experience for many people.
@Drewnhossle Yeah.. Really.. And besides.. If you're in a Mall on Christmas it too is decked out for the holidays.. So if you go there during that time.. It's your own fault.
i was there stuck in starbucks when this was going on. and it wasn't really a flashmob they had sheet music they were handing out and all the camaras were set up so it wasn't a real surprise
What's awesome about this, is that it is catching on. Who cares whether is is a flash mob or not, or whether it is original or not??? The point is, that people all over the world are singing this song. "The LORD God omnipotent reigneth forever and ever, Hallelujah."
I am proud to say that my Uncle, Bob VanEssen, was part of this! Way to bring home the Christmas spirit to everyone! No, it may not be origonal, but it is still fantastic that they did this!
@The4whatitisworth Really? Who cares what it is or what it has been done for? Take your poor attitude and watch something else. Its not a competetion, Its a localized effort with numerous singers from throughout the entire city - no need to read into it any further.
I grew up in Edmonton, and loved seeing this video for many reasons. The enthusiasm and sheer joy of the singers was inspiring to watch and to listen to.
A great city - you've done yourself proud with this flash mob video!
Edmonton is the most horrible city of Canada. No wonder people gonna behave like idiots.

How many non-members joined in on the singing? I would have if I had been there.

Who care if it offends someone. It's a Christian song, don't like it tough.

I would like to see people do more Christmas Caroling in general. I have some fond memories of it from when I was younger.

Love that they do these, but why this song? Why not one that everyone can join in? It would be amazing if that happened. Life should be a musical!

Not really a flash mob. But still fun to see as I know many of the people there. I miss being a part of the RES.

Flash Mob? Not really. (Flash Mobs don't use sheet music)
Original? No (outdone by the original most definitely)
Promotion for their Messiah concerts? Yes (and for that, good on them)
