My friend got me playing this game and I have to say, it's not worth $15 a month. Romulans have cloaks and so do the Klingons...Feds can't have them because the feds keep sucking up to the Romulans.....Fed can't even use the faz cloak that they came up with.
The reason they have personal shields is because of the tech that Janeway brought back from the Delta Quadrant and the fact that its set 70 years after the last Next Generation episode...and I would also say this is a time of war. and its a game.
I've played it and I also play EVE and played WoW, its not really like EVE, the ship combat is slightly like it, and I would say is more excieting, but the ground missions are just atrocious, there like something from a b-game from 2001.
as for the use of assault weapons that's completely wrong as the only people who had them in the movies/tv were elite forces/assault units (military) which wore the grey uniforms or when the ship got boarded and all hands had to defend. Red (command) Blue (science) and Yellow (security) uniforms are non military and so usually carried hand phasors on away missions.
I'm not sure but I think I vaguely recall the game being based after the first borg invasion and takes place during the second invasion. personal shields are supposed to be adapted from borg tech.. or something that they would have either got from 7of9 or lecutis (borg picard).

I have another question. How is the gameplay when in flight with the starship? Can I for example have gameplay inside the bridge of the ship and are the fire, shield and manouver controls voice activated? Like... "Polorize the hull plating". "Charge weapons". "Aim for their warpcore". ?
Listening to you two speak is much more entertaining than the game itself, so far. I find it funnny that the one really good thing I hear about it from my friend is that it's friendly to roleplayers.
Lots of people have problems with the hostage ship in the last part of this mission and are crying for nerfs. its a fight that actually requires some thought and some actually use of skills. and people QQ, it took me 2 attempts. rotate through shields, use your officers abilities and broadside it as much as you can, everone thinks you need to destroy it, you dont you just to get it to about 30% hull then you can transport out the hostages and GG mission complete.
it's not hard - nothing in this game is hard. you respawn, run back, and their ship hasnt recovered properly. you can basically corpse run your way through this game with no problems. i was complaining because the ground combat is a boring faceroll, so theres never any point wasting talents there. Yet despite putting every single talent point in ship combat and spending all my gold on (albeit marginal) upgrades, I still have trouble despite tactics being fine
You are an idiot, there is 6 factions and thre are contested areas just like in WoW and if you come across an opposite faction you kill em. In space or planetside. Get your facts straight...... FAIL

Lots of people have problems with the hostage ship in the last part of this mission and are crying for nerfs. its a fight that actually requires some thought and some actually use of skills. and people QQ, it took me 2 attempts. rotate through shields, use your officers abilities and broadside it as much as you can, everone thinks you need to destroy it, you dont you just to get it to about 30% hull then you can transport out the hostages and GG mission complete.

it's not hard - nothing in this game is hard. you respawn, run back, and their ship hasnt recovered properly. you can basically corpse run your way through this game with no problems. i was complaining because the ground combat is a boring faceroll, so theres never any point wasting talents there. Yet despite putting every single talent point in ship combat and spending all my gold on (albeit marginal) upgrades, I still have trouble despite tactics being fine

You are an idiot, there is 6 factions and thre are contested areas just like in WoW and if you come across an opposite faction you kill em. In space or planetside. Get your facts straight...... FAIL

AT First i thought those two guys commenting on that Video where disgusting (Quite like the game),.... but i have to admit after watching it from start to finish i absolutly love it !!!
