Cassinga was a transit camp with mainly refugees and civilians in it, including a clinic. The military headquarter was in Lubango.
A lot of the victims were women and children.
Tactic was "make no prisoners" which meant extra-legal executions. Prisoners were only taken in Chetequera. They were brought to Namibia and tortured there, imprisoned for almost ten years.

Cassinga was a refugee camp. I was 12 years old and was there on the day of the attack. I and my family of 5 children aged 1 to 14 arrived in Cassinga 2 months before the attack. We went to Angola running away from the sufferings that were inflicted on us by the white government.
Cassinga was a refugee camp full of women and children, and more than 600 died on that day killed by the white South African army. My aunt and my two cousins aged 10 and 12 were also killed that day.

People who wanted to get something better than Bantu education, like scholarships in Sweden, Germany, England etc. And some left to fight. Aprx 40.000 people left Namibia for exile. The minority of them as fighters
Most of the victims were normal refugees. Still there were soldiers present. That gives Swapo part of the guilt for attracting military attacks from SADF

SWA was handed over to Britain as Leagues of Nations (later UN) mandate. Cuba has a webpage with false information defending themselves and Swapo at Cassinga.
They state we killed 600 women and children and that it was a refugee camp. Obviously not true. Just shows you why nobody should trust a Cuban Official/Soldier.

They also claim that they won the border war. With all their aid (Swapo, Cuba, Soviet Union, ANC etc) they still couldn't get into SA. More than 15 000 cuban troops could not defeat 3000 South African Troops on the Border. How pathetic are they. You just need to look at SA today to see how pathetic they really are!

Cassinga was a transit camp with mainly refugees and civilians in it, including a clinic. The military headquarter was in Lubango.
A lot of the victims were women and children.
Tactic was "make no prisoners" which meant extra-legal executions. Prisoners were only taken in Chetequera. They were brought to Namibia and tortured there, imprisoned for almost ten years.
If they are "terrorists" Koevoet and SADF are terrorsts as well.
