Don't know what is better. Everything wears down. Back in the day cars that did have timing chains needed adjustments not cars that have timing chains have chain tensioner's built in. Timing belts dry up.

Honda does make all it engines NOW with timing chains, no more belts. Maybe chains are better, eh?

So, what's your idea on my comment about "weed"?

@Reverseflush It all depends on how you look at it. If you look at one way you could say that chains are better because you usually don't ever have to mess with them. The other way and you can could say that belts are better because they're quieter and they improve the fuel efficiency of the engine. Honda has some pretty unique chains that are know as HY-VO chains and they should never stretch or need replacement before the rest of the engine does. The Honda V6s still have a timing belt.
