  • why do people always refer to streetbikes when someone wants a rebel, i own a 2007 rebel and it can do highway use easily... i took mine from NY to sturgis with no issues

  • I want a rebel soooo bad!!!!

  • people with balls that dont like them going numb from vibration. I even find the shadow 750's to be a little bit "buzzy" over 100km/h (60mph)

  • @Obsidian1985 I doubt I'll get a reply but.. what do you mean by 'buzzy'? Is it just something about the engine sending vibrations through the frame? I'm trying to figure out what the cheapest, lowest displacement bike is I can get away with, that'll still be 'okay' for highway jaunts.

It's looking like a 250 just wont' do it but.. I'll be lucky to have 3k for a bike.. even 2k might be a stretch. Thanks!

  • @MonolithTyriss most low displacement singles or twins tend to vibrate excessively at higher RPMs, one other thing they tend to suffer from is low gear ratios, so you can expect them to rev high on highways. Yeah, you will feel the vibrations through the frame and handlebars, it's ok for short trips but anymore than 30mins tends to get quite uncomfortable. If you have 2-3k I would highly reccomend looking at ninja 500s. They are incredible overall, power, reliability, ease of maintenance.

  • that's a Honda Rebel right? who says they can't be take on the highway! way to go!

  • Only people who are compensating for something :)
