People wonder why so many cried when Aerith died, people wondered how a game that was made 15 years ago can still have an effect on everyone that played it in that time. People call it gay, stupid, childish. Those are the people who will never open their hearts. The ones who have experienced this game know that this is not just a game. It's a choice. To play and open the heart, or not play, and go down the road of COD, or mindless games. Any true gamer knows that this is one of the best games..
This touches me in a way that's impossible to describe... when i was little i watched my father play this and giving my name to aerith, and since then i feel a deeply strong connection to her... this song will always be my theme song too =)
Man, I remember watching my brother play this game back when I was a kid. Years later when I finally was able to. I remember watching the scene Aeris died. Being the kid I was I had a close attachment to the character by then like I'm sure the rest of you did or still do. I remember running into my brothers room saying I felt a fraction of the pain of where she got stabbed when she got stabbed. That is what I thought it was back then but now i know, it was my heart breaking. Best game ever...

FINAL FANTASY VII is probably one of the greatest pieces of playable art ever created along the lines of the world's greatest plays, operas, ballets, paintings, books, and poems. Final Fantasy VII has the most mature story line of them all and the most moving music. It was the game that went from the earlier Final Fantasy's of the SNES & NES Zelda like atmosphere we are all fond of when we started to play games in the 80's, and took it to a new interactive level never to be forgotten...
@maverickplabs I like FFVII a lot, a whole lot. It doesn't compare to the best works of art. I assume that you are trolling, making hyperbole, or sincerely loving something beyond reason and ultimate understanding; whatever, though. FFVII is a game that will be rightfully considered influential for years to come. As much as I love it for many personal reasons, it's hardly comparable to certain works that have come before.
I can't wait for a game to take a place in the pantheon for real.

7, 8, and 13 are by far the best games with the best stories. The soundtrack in 7 blows the others to dust though. 8's new map system was genious, and 13's battle system presented a challenge once you actually had to strategize (unlike..."attack" "item" "flee"). Pumped for XIII-2. I work at a GameStop, so I preordered the Collector's Edition (Comes with Soundtrack and Artbook).

@WdowgeNZ No, recent statistics showed that at the beggining, yes, it had low sales but due to good feedback, sales shot up until it almost reached a little below FFX. i played the japanese version and its a good clean up from FFXIII, like it fixed the first one. its way better than the original

Uematsu seems to capture the true human aspect and emotion of life. As a musician, I feel blessed to be able to listen to such wonderful orchestrations of his works. The very essence and fragility of true innocence, and likewise, the loss off it, seems to be en-captured within the notes on his music sheets. "What a wonderful world I live in", is what his pieces spur in me. I can only reflect and incorporate this music into my life every day.
if they remake ff7 they wont put it on xbox. ff7 is the ff that put square and ps on the map. there is no fucking way they gonna put it in xbox after what ff7 done to ps1.
@blahblahbanana1 Square are in big trouble with money because they have made a lot of shit games, particularly FF XIV, and X III was crap IMO. they are going to need to do this remake soon if they want a high profile game to rebuild the FF brand and JRPG's in general. So i hope they do make it, and make it right.
@TPKJ 13 was a huge success sales wise because they're hadn't been a FF game for ages, but once it released most FF fans like me were disappointed and pissed off. It was linear, and crappy characters, bad music, and a crappy but cool looking combat system. It may of worked well the first time, but the second time we will not be fooled again.

As for the bad music, Final Fantasy XIII received the soundtrack of the year award from Golden Joystick, who have been giving awards for 29 years.
And people will love the second one too. Famitsu gave it a perfect score! Which they rarely do

I used to play this game about halfway and start over when battles got boring. But after I got to Aeris's death, starting again and hearing this music while Tifa's mom told backstory - It's the only time a video game ever made me cry.

well man i won't try to change your opinion and i respect it, but when i was playing the original title, it appeared that she moved on from zack and she and cloud fell in love, the only instances where cloud smiles and laughs is when she is around, and the ending, MAN the ending with the hand reach scene, cloud wanting to meet her again and she apparently awakening, was really moving.
if yuna could reunite with tidus, I don't see why cloud cannot reunite with aerith, his true love, maybe that will be th ending of the last titlte of the compilation and would be a perfect closure
dammit! this piece always makes me cry and for me it has absolutely nothing to do with Aerith's story. The way its written and performed here is just so moving! THATS when you know you have a great composer!

@Ninjamonkeypirates Yea true, but you would think Sony would fight for exclusivity, seeing as it started on the Playstation only. But i think the PS4 will have almost the full functionality of a PC. SO you maybe able to mod games on it.

@ezbleezy Honestly, I greatly enjoyed XIII. It almost beat X as my favorite one in the series.The only one that I've played so far that I honestly did not like was XII. XII just didn't work for me.

@NostalgicSince2005 the song seems to imply something ending, while the happy yet serene beginning of something new is approaching, and in terms of a wedding, youthful lack of responsibility is ending and the beginning of a relationship + a family is going to start, I think it would fit a wedding more, because at a funeral... what happy/serene event will result from a death? i know this song is used for aerith's death but the way it sounds...thats how I will use it

I used to play this game about halfway and start over when battles got boring. But after I got to Aeris's death, starting again and hearing this music while Tifa's mom told backstory - It's the only time a video game ever made me cry.

well man i won't try to change your opinion and i respect it, but when i was playing the original title, it appeared that she moved on from zack and she and cloud fell in love, the only instances where cloud smiles and laughs is when she is around, and the ending, MAN the ending with the hand reach scene, cloud wanting to meet her again and she apparently awakening, was really moving.
