BSL doesn't just go after pitbulls AND BSL doesn't only mean "BANNED." Means restricted as well. It depends on the ordinance and how it's written, and when it's passed in the counties purposed. Dogs shouldn't be banned, the irresponsible owners should be banned but the gov't is too stupid. Ban tethering of dogs and a lot of dog bites wouldn't happen. If someone can't share their home with a dog and they need to tether it then they shouldn't have a dog.

Banned or restricted, either way you don't want any of them. Why would you want to walk outside with so many restrictions on your dog? I know restrictions are better than being banned, but why would you want any of them? This BSL is just bullshit. The people who are in control of this operation need to get fucking lives and stop messing with people's dogs and focus on more important things like the economy and stop worry about furry things on four legs with tails and assholes.

Bans i disagree with... However i want restrictions i think if planned out properly and not some half assed legislation they could be a great thing. Heavy inforcement would discourage puppy farms as the profit wouldn't be in it... so healthier dogs. And fact is some ppl arent fit to own a yorkie let alone something like a rottie. when i externed at a vet clinic, my supervising tech said american eskimos were the second most likely to bite next to chihuahuas...and we saw proof of that when one bit its tongue spazzing out over nothing but being on a leash and we were taking it outside...but im not sure i agree with everything on this video
there is nothing anyone can say to me to make me believe that pitbulls are vicious. I have 5 and all of them are very loving dogs as well as very protective. Looks like you have a Leonberger, that cannot be true as they are the most gentle giant dogs out there. Some breeds tend to be more protective than others which they are bred to be, specifically the livestock guardians you show. Kangal, Sarplaninac, Great Pyr, Akbash, etc. but they are protective of family and property not aggressive for no reason.

Pits ARE dangerous. Every time you turn around ones mauled a child to death or eaten the legs off an old woman. They are unstable because, after we humans made this breed to be violent and fearless we decide we want to make them house pets. That's NOT what they were made for. And its not gonna work.

You might wanna check that out. They may not have in your area, doesn't mean they haven't been. Also, BSL doesn't always make a full blown "ban." They DO put restrictions on dogs, too.
Actually, they go by features ect when determining a "type" of dog when it comes to Breed Specific Legislation, even though they may not be anything like that type of dog, or carry it's genetics. It may fall under the ordinance. They go by Breeds, but just because they don't mention a specific breed, doesn't mean it won't fall under the ordinance. I would say it meets the Criteria on several levels. Just my opinion, but I'm sure they would ban it too.

They lifted the ban on pitbulls in my county. Because its unfair but the good law inforcement is working on catching the bad owners because most irresponsible pit owners are invovlved in something illeegal and they are able to remove the dogs from a bad situation.
Take a look at my profile, there is a very informative link there. It's called stopbsl. Take some time and go through it, you will have a better understanding then. It's basically where your local goverment bans dogs, and if they ban a certian breed, such as Pitbulls and Pitbull types, you have so many days to get rid of your dog, and/or they can confiscate your dog and destroy it. You can face legal issues too.
EXAMPLE: The dog in this video below, is a Boxer mix, it has PB features. If Pitbull, and Pitbull types were to be banned in a county, this dog would fall under the BSL Ordinance. An Animal Control officer and a Vet will be the ones to determine if your dog has the right features to fall under the Ordinance. Hardly fair, don't you think?

@CRFmxracer yes labs actually feature very highly in bite lists as do all herding breeds like austrailian shepards. It isn't a list on kills or serious injury its on bites of any nature so a scratch will be listed the same as taking an arm off. All the breeds ppl think of as the "nice" ones feature at the top of bite lists. pits rotties etc are quite low they just do more damage so get more press

So the answer to ur question is, YES, ppl have been bitten by those breeds. Biting isn't a trait any breed comes with - Unless of course, u breed the 2 meanest dogs u can find for that sole purpose - but often us people don't provide what our dogs need n a lot of times it's released thru aggression.

I have a Kangal Dog, She is definitely more capable of doing harm than a Pitbull. However she is trained. Like my Pitbull she learned from an early age what was right and wrong. My Kangal does bark when let outside but, it is what she is supposed to do, announce that she is on duty and don't come on her property. My PB just looks around, everything looks good and he comes back inside. BSL is BS!

datart1, I'm not sure where you get your facts from, but I am a member or The Humane Society and additionally, I volunteer for them on a very regular basis. Your accusations & statements are completely FALSE and inaccurate! HSUS are VERY supportive of Bully breeds -- and also VERY against breed specific legislation. BSL is bullshit. My family owns a dog who is 1/2 Heeler and 1/2 who knows what. She is very gentile. Many of the pitbulls, rotties, chows, etc I have known were very nice dogs. Why can't they get their heads out of their asses and stop the breed profiling? Racial profiling among humans is illegal, so why not breed profiling? Can't they base this on temperament of individual dogs and not a stereotype of its breed?
As far as I know of they are not. But it is possible. I have found that they are going after Pitbulls,German Shepherds, Mastiffs, Chows, Huskies/Malamutes, Akitas, Doberman Pinschers, Great Danes, and Rottweilers. Alot of Mastiffs,Terriers and types of Bulldogs. They seem to be the most noticeable. Yeah there are more banned than I could put in the video. Sad really.

This is so much BS. I mean this BSL is all BS if they want to do this to all these breeds why not just put the MF that fight them down or better yet put a BSL on them? I mean it's not the dogs fault it has fools for owners. So lets cut them so they can no longer breed I'm so sick of this shit. My son is my son and if you come near him or try to tell me you're going to put him down you're going to put me down too. Cause I will protect him with my life like he would for me.

Banned or restricted, either way you don't want any of them. Why would you want to walk outside with so many restrictions on your dog? I know restrictions are better than being banned, but why would you want any of them? This BSL is just bullshit. The people who are in control of this operation need to get fucking lives and stop messing with people's dogs and focus on more important things like the economy and stop worry about furry things on four legs with tails and assholes.

Bans i disagree with... However i want restrictions i think if planned out properly and not some half assed legislation they could be a great thing. Heavy inforcement would discourage puppy farms as the profit wouldn't be in it... so healthier dogs. And fact is some ppl arent fit to own a yorkie let alone something like a rottie. I love mine to bits but they arent for everyone

when i externed at a vet clinic, my supervising tech said american eskimos were the second most likely to bite next to chihuahuas...and we saw proof of that when one bit its tongue spazzing out over nothing but being on a leash and we were taking it outside...but im not sure i agree with everything on this video

there is nothing anyone can say to me to make me believe that pitbulls are vicious. I have 5 and all of them are very loving dogs as well as very protective. Pits will only do what they are taught to do. nice work on the video. and by the way some of the dogs in this video like the english bulldog and american bulldog are also banned here

Looks like you have a Leonberger, that cannot be true as they are the most gentle giant dogs out there. Some breeds tend to be more protective than others which they are bred to be, specifically the livestock guardians you show. Kangal, Sarplaninac, Great Pyr, Akbash, etc. but they are protective of family and property not aggressive for no reason.

Unstable ones? The only thing unstable is the people that own the dogs. Quit passing human behavior onto animals. WE, HUMANS, are the ones that are unstable. I'm sure you feel it's OK to ban pits ect, but at the end of the day, you cannot complain about a French Bulldog. What did you expect? Do you think they will stop with pitbulls, Shepards, Bulldogs ect? If they have it their way, all of them will be. I am a TRUE animal lover. I wish none of them to be put to DEATH.

Pits ARE dangerous. Every time you turn around ones mauled a child to death or eaten the legs off an old woman. They are unstable because, after we humans made this breed to be violent and fearless we decide we want to make them house pets. That's NOT what they were made for. And its not gonna work.
We no longer bait bulls, or legally fight dogs. This dog is not a pet. It was made for a task that no longer exists. Neither should it.

Pits were bred to fight AND for bull baiting, but what's the one thing the dogs had bred into them also?? They needed to be absolutely reliable around humans because the dogs that were "fought" were in homes with families.

You might wanna check that out. They may not have in your area, doesn't mean they haven't been. Also, BSL doesn't always make a full blown "ban." They DO put restrictions on dogs, too.

Actually, they go by features ect when determining a "type" of dog when it comes to Breed Specific Legislation, even though they may not be anything like that type of dog, or carry it's genetics. It may fall under the ordinance. They go by Breeds, but just because they don't mention a specific breed, doesn't mean it won't fall under the ordinance. I would say it meets the Criteria on several levels. Just my opinion, but I'm sure they would ban it too.

Actually, the true APBT is a living teddy bear too. The true APBT was bred not be human agressive. Bulldogs were bred for bull baiting too. Sorda the same stereo type they put on APBT's. They don't care, any type of dogs along those lines. Pretty much all of them.
See, they are going after Bulldog/Pitbull/Shepard/Mastiff types, and so on. Mossler type dogs also.
That's why I have this channel.

It's disgusting! Why judge a breed on what they were instead of what they are? And just because of afew people that have trained their dogs to be agressive, the whole breed gets tared with the same brush?! - If they start to put restrictions on English Bulldogs in britan they are going to have one hell of a fight on thier hands, even if I have to do it single handed! They lifted the ban on pitbulls in my county. Because its unfair but the good law inforcement is working on catching the bad owners because most irresponsible pit owners are invovlved in something illeegal and they are able to remove the dogs from a bad situation.

BSL is Breed Specific Legislation.
Take a look at my profile, there is a very informative link there. It's called stopbsl. Take some time and go through it, you will have a better understanding then. It's basically where your local goverment bans dogs, and if they ban a certian breed, such as Pitbulls and Pitbull types, you have so many days to get rid of your dog, and/or they can confiscate your dog and destroy it. You can face legal issues too.

EXAMPLE: The dog in this video below, is a Boxer mix, it has PB features. If Pitbull, and Pitbull types were to be banned in a county, this dog would fall under the BSL Ordinance. An Animal Control officer and a Vet will be the ones to determine if your dog has the right features to fall under the Ordinance. Hardly fair, don't you think?

thanks again, i dont believe in banning any breed, as that would only harm innocent dogs as you said. but i must say i do believe in restrictions about who can own/breed dogs, as most people cant even be responsible with themselves or even their own children, let alone a powerful animal. selters are overun because anyone can breed a dog, and the amount of dogs abused sickens me, as it should any ethical person...

@CRFmxracer yes labs actually feature very highly in bite lists as do all herding breeds like austrailian shepards. It isn't a list on kills or serious injury its on bites of any nature so a scratch will be listed the same as taking an arm off. All the breeds ppl think of as the "nice" ones feature at the top of bite lists. pits rotties etc are quite low they just do more damage so get more press

@CRFmxracer @gringamanda Dogs of any breed can b aggressive. It can be the result of fear, lack of exercise (pent up energy), lack of structure n discipline, dominance n abuse. So the answer to ur question is, YES, ppl have been bitten by those breeds. Biting isn't a trait any breed comes with - Unless of course, u breed the 2 meanest dogs u can find for that sole purpose - but often us people don't provide what our dogs need n a lot of times it's released thru aggression.

For heavens sake, my 130lb Bloodhound will jump on you and almost knock you down....that doesn't make him a bully dog or a dangerous breed. Good job Laura.

I have a Kangal Dog, She is definitely more capable of doing harm than a Pitbull. However she is trained. Like my Pitbull she learned from an early age what was right and wrong. My Kangal does bark when let outside but, it is what she is supposed to do, announce that she is on duty and don't come on her property. My PB just looks around, everything looks good and he comes back inside. BSL is BS!

well more fear then hate. but sum neighbors arent afraid because my dog is the best trained dog in my area. he just has a habit of jumping on people. but i still deal with people who have kids outside and when they kids come to pet their parents say "dont pet that dog" but i dont let it get to me.

datart1, I'm not sure where you get your facts from, but I am a member or The Humane Society and additionally, I volunteer for them on a very regular basis. Your accusations & statements are completely FALSE and inaccurate! HSUS are VERY supportive of Bully breeds -- and also VERY against breed specific legislation. And I should know because in my history involving myself to the extent that I have, I have witnessed countless restricted breeds (many of which are pitbulls), adopted.

Do not confuse HSUS with your local HS, there is NO connection. HSUS supports breed bans & is hand in glove w/PETA. THEY DO NOT OPERATE SHELTERS! If a shelter is using HS as part of their name don't assume that they have anything to do w/or get a penny from HSUS. When the Vick dog fighting story broke, HSUS had a fund-raising page up w/in a day asking for funds to help care for Vicks dogs, though they were NEVER involved in the care of the dogs & made a statement that they should all be killed.

BSL is bullshit. My family owns a dog who is 1/2 Heeler and 1/2 who knows what. She is very gentile. Many of the pitbulls, rotties, chows, etc I have known were very nice dogs. Why can't they get their heads out of their asses and stop the breed profiling? Racial profiling among humans is illegal, so why not breed profiling? Can't they base this on temperament of individual dogs and not a stereotype of its breed?

As far as I know of they are not. But it is possible. I have found that they are going after Pitbulls,German Shepherds, Mastiffs, Chows, Huskies/Malamutes, Akitas, Doberman Pinschers, Great Danes, and Rottweilers. Alot of Mastiffs,Terriers and types of Bulldogs. They seem to be the most noticeable. Yeah there are more banned than I could put in the video. Sad really.
