This is why I left the show...he is an AMAZING actor with this role...in my opinion, when he left the show...CSI died...end of story...unless he makes a return, then I can guarantee you, that the show will have twice as many viewers :D

You are so right, MAD2472. Grissom was like a father to all the CSIs, and now he realizes that he needs to let them go. It's the only way he could be himself, by letting his family go. They'll take care of themselves, and Grissom deserves to be happy.
i like the scene before he is walking in the jungle. It is like a Father finally realising that all of his children have grown up, and he has to let them go now, it is his time to rest and be happy for himself , and then he gets what he wants in the end.
William Petersen is still involved in the show as an Executive Producer, however there is still the option for him to return to the show either in a guest or full time role if he so wishes.
Wiliam Peterson left CSI becouse he wanna play in other films, and he is playing Grissom 10 years so he must be tired. Gary Dourdan argued with producents becouse he wanna raise his pay, they doesnt listen to him so he left.Although, CSi is best show ever made and 10 season is really great ! (Sorry about my english, I am slovak)

I agree with everyone who said that Grissom/Petersen was something like a symbol of this show. And everybody miss him still, to be sure. But until there stay those people who have been there from the begining it will be alright. Sometimes it seems to me like he has never gone away, but do not why exactly.

CSI will never be the same without Grissom. I just started watching CSI full time (instead of every once in a while) because of him and all the great character including Sarah and Warrick. They were a team that seemed impossible to break.
Now, CSI doesn't have the same feeling that I used to get while watching the past seasons. But it's good that Sarah and Grissom at least had their happy ending.

CSI is starting to break down with the loss of Warrick and now Grissom. Those were two of the best characters. Who's next, Katherine or Brass?? I don't know if i can watch Morpheus...

i think Grissom was the anker in the series, it was a very nice ending to a CSI legend! CSI Las Vegas it the ultimate CSI series i think, and how the series now will be without Grissom i fear will be many steps down. Yeah it's just fiction but i think is the best TV Entertainment on tv to date!!! I hope he will come back at one time in the series despite what everyone says. I think this was so well done. This is the best of all the CSI's. I was shcoked when he said he was leaving but LF seems to be cutting it well and Im glad he did not replace Gill as supervisor and its seems to be working and we are getting to know the characters more. I for one want to see where this can go now.

I was a die hard GSR fan the moment I saw the together many years ago. I remember coming home from school and hoping for some good grissom/sara scene. when she left I was heartbroken but to see this...its just so sweet to see ^_^ thank you for posting

It's was really sad that William Petersen was leaving CSI. He was the best character ever to play Grissom. I'm hoping he'll return to the show some time next season.

i think Grissom was the anker in the series, it was a very nice ending to a CSI legend! CSI Las Vegas it the ultimate CSI series i think, and how the series now will be without Grissom i fear will be many steps down. Yeah it's just fiction but i think is the best TV Entertainment on tv to date!!! I hope he will come back at one time in the series despite what everyone says. Thanks for many fine tv night's William Petersen!!! You will be missed in the series!!!

Absolutly amazing. What a perfecy ending for Grissom.
He realizes that Sara makes him happy and that he wants to be with her, and that makes him happier than CSI. So romantic. So perfect.
I always knew they would end up together <3
And it was so perfectly done. Him walking through CSI saying bye in his own way, Catherina winking at him, which made me cry, and the music.. amazing.
And then finding Sara, not letting her go. So romantic. I love it. I can watch this scene over and over again.

tears rolling down my cheeks as I do this - but he could only have left for Sara, thank god! It's the end of an era - LOVE Grissom, it just wont be the same without him. Looking forward to seeing the whole episode tonight (well 1st part anyway) so I can sob again!!

I think this was so well done. This is the best of all the CSI's. I was shcoked when he said he was leaving but LF seems to be cutting it well and Im glad he did not replace Gill as supervisor and its seems to be working and we are getting to know the characters more. I for one want to see where this can go now.

I still can't believe he's gone. I love watching this scene over and over. CSI will never be the same without him. Even Billy said he couldn't stop crying during his final scenes of filming. I'm so sad he had to go. I hope he comes back soon. With Jorja, of course. The Kiss is a great way to end it (: I love them (:
