  • see.....this is what happens when bottoms are allowed on the internet

  • @19cake69 How am I a bottom?

  • I just finished the Flashpoint collected edition. I will admit, that ending battle was nutty, and I kinda wanted some more things going on with the characters in that scene, but yet I was pretty much on edge and I had a fun time with it.

So overall, I enjoyed this series. And while I certainely don't think this goes on par with Johns's classics, its still a well-done and fun adventure of a comic book.

  • To rapor who is that hooded where's waldo having bitch I keep seeing in all the number ones

  • Geoff johns writing of Hal in JLA 1, seems like he lost his voice. I always imagine Hal sounding more like Han Solo in star wars, He wrote him that way in GL rebirth.

  • @radman107 Yeah Hal when written right should be the Han Solo of the DCU as opposed to a giant moron like he was here.

  • @raporfest ROTFLOL...tae care rap...looking forward to any review you do...

  • What do you think of whole Thomas/Bruce thing in the end?

Even that it wasnt explained, why Enchantress betrayed others (I dont think you really need to explain, why someone in the war joins the side, who seems to be winning), it was foreshadowed since issue 2, so its not like it came out of nowhere.

How does showing a new character in one scene short scene, on one panel, making whole crossover being just to foreshadow the next one? The story has very closed ending.

    Still, good review.

  • @Ikarosus I said I thought it was one of the better things about the book. Also with Enchantress, it honestly wasn't foreshadowed and she was killing people from both sides. Also having a character sudden'y show up with no build u or explanation at the end and have that character current'y appear in the background in every new issue is pretty much guarantee that this character is gotta play a big role later on.

  • @raporfest They were talking about the traitor all the time, and she turned evil in issue 4.

I agree, it is foreshadowing, but if you think this crossover was just foreshadowing with nice art, then you definetly didnt read Marvel events, in a long time. They are pretty much everything you said you dont like about Geoff Jonhs writing. Everything.

Now, when we know Element Woman will be part of the new 52, what do you think about her?

  • @Ikarosus I really hope I don't sound rude but did you dislike this video by any chance? I'm just wondering because I see 3 dislikes and I hope I haven't declined in quality.

  • @raporfest Maybe?

Okay, I did, but I am really sorry. I love your videos, especialy your Wonder Woman rants and you actualy made me want to read Wonder Woman (which is sadly impossible in my country) and I am pretty sure, this is the first time, I have disliked your video. I just dont think you were really fair in this review. I really liked Flashpoint, partly because I am very disapointed with Hype Itself.

I have alternative acount, I can give like, if you want.

  • @Ikarosus It's perfectly fine . I was just confused in that you thought it was a good review but you didn't. And if you liked Flashpoint, that is perfectly fine. Hell, it started out incredibly good but like Blackest Night, feel short and sadly anti-climatic.

  • @raporfest I would say, that the problem with Flashpoint is, that it works as good Flash story, but as a story, that is supposed to be end of the previous contiunity, its really anticlimatic and has like zero foreshadowing. I think that Flashpoint was originaly supposed to be story arc in Flash book, but DC needed to star their new 52, so they made it crossover event.

So far, the new 52 seems like a hit and miss to me. Including new redesigns.

  • What are your thoughts on the Reverse Flash's comment thaat he's a living paradox

  • @redjirachi1 Not much. He is a walking mary sue in how for some bizarre reason reality isn't effected by him because he has the "NEGATIVE" speed force.

  • To be honest, when you said Cyborg was to be a founding member, my first thought was this: Ah. So they added their token black character.

  • @Ardenwolfe Well to be fair, if they wanted that, they would have had John Stewart as GL (before JLU, he was essentially the token black guy) or Black Lighting ( a character who for a long time was notorious for being a black stereotype). Adding a black guy seems to be cheapest route for writers to say "Yeah look, were culturally diverse" and I remember stirring a long controversy when I mentioned this in my "Diversity in Comics" video.

  • @raporfest True, but they couldn't use John Stewart because they wanted Hal. Black Lightning was too over the top and a cliche. Cyborg was the best canidate. And, as you mentioned, he is a popular Teen Titan character. Don't forget the fanbase around that cartoon.

Anyway, that's just my opinion. But, I'm calling a spade a spade . . . no pun intended racial or otherwise.

  • @raporfest I didn't care much for John Stewart. Basically he was just a black GL for the sake of being a black GL. Just like a Black Firestorm was made just for the sake of being a black Firestorm. Perfect examples of tokenism. Black Lighting & Marvel's Luke Cage might've blaxploitation figures in Bronze Age era , but at least they're both as genuine as Cyborg. Now Tokenism is ruled out in Cyborg's case for this reboot. the culprit is blatant Nepotism which always comprises sensibility.

  • I thought Flashpoint, as a whole, was decent but I really felt the Amazon/Atlantean conflict could've had more conflict. BTW, didn't Barry Allen get a power boost from Kid Flash at the end of Kid Flash Lost?

So far, I didn't feel there was much wrong with Justice League #1, almost something I could actually see in a Justice League film.

  • To be honest, I kinda like WW's new outfit. Yeah, I know its not really anything that special, but considering how much I disliked her outfit when she was "90s Biker Chick" (as rap would put it), this current one is certainely a hell of a lot better since its a bit more familiar.

  • @OwlEye2010 Yeah my thoughts exactly. Also a lot of elements of JMS 's Odyssey like the old Diana getting killed to be replaced by 90s Biker Chick seem to be forgotten.

  • To be Honest Flashpoint seemed to be a let down on all fronts. And the ending just proved it. The fact geoff Johns didn,t put any closure to this event in at akl bar the letter for bruce, is a disater and tyhey don,t even bother top even begin to show the changes to the new timeline in this comic. God i hated flashpoint from start to finish is seemed like a let down to me and the fact Johns decided to screw europe but leave america alone seemed tyol be a cop out. Sigh really hated flashpoint

  • Do you think DC is trying to replace Wonder Woman with Green Lantern in the Big Three?

  • @the15thnoah A little bit but between the failure of the GL movie and declining quality of the comics, it won't last.
