@Konoton01 Well you know sparks can hit stuff like rags all day long and not set them on fire. You really have to make it arc to it for a long time to get it to heat it up enough to set it on first. This is because the spark event last for <100uS at a duty cycle of <8% in most cases. Hardy enough to set first to most things.
@123roromantic Nope sorry but you are wrong too :P I do play piano, however I was not playing the coil in this video with a keyboard. The controller was being fed MIDI data from a laptop which was also playing though the laptop speaks which is what you hear when the coil is not playing.
I chanallenge Wurminfektion to find some special FX that match what I do in this video, because if big name FX house can't do it what is that chances I did? Or it could just be real...
@Tubalsky You dumbshit, the coil's sparks produce the sound effects due to very high frequencies. Why would he use a computer programme, to prove what? This wouldn't be what it's supposed to be.
You can make it at home, the only too expensive thing to buy is the AC you'll need cause of its high voltage required.
It's not hard to understand, you make the AC send the required voltage for the coil to produce the sound effect of each note. The frequency is the key to the different notes he gets.
i have one from my uncle, it works, i use it in my garage, but i cant get the notes to be like it sounds like it, i have tuned it up and down and everything
@thehumor It's the air vibrating creating energy making sound. When something it is heated it must shake rapidly to expel heat. It's how music is made on a guitar string etc, it's all vibration. Instead, its the air vibrating instead of a string.
excuse me buti think he is concerned about the amount of possibly flammable objects in the room but i am sure you know what you are doing and i trust it
@TeletubyofDOOM You obviously don't know much about this, so what make your qualified to judge if this is dangerous? If you want to put down some ones handwork go do it somewhere else.
@TeletubyofDOOM You still didn't answer my question, what makes you qualified to judge what makes this dangerous? You don't have to answer the question because I know why your not answering it, because you don't know. I personally know what I'm doing from years of experience, so go bother some one that is closer to your knowledge level, because you obviously don't know what your talking about here.
@kitedh What makes it not dangerous for me is my years of experience with high voltage and power electronics. I would also rather not get into the issue of safety anymore, I'm sick of explaining my self to every one.
do you think you could make a video of you making one? its ok if you can't i just would really like to build one for myself so i can intertain friends and family.
hey i was wandering if anyone could make a video on how to make one of these? i have tried and tried to find one that explains it step by step but have not had any luck. Thank you/
@MrCricket0277 The reason why that is because it can't be explained step by step, it's just to complex. Also most people that do this sort of thing learn it by many hours of experimentation and hard work, and that is not something most people give up lightly.
Very nice! Are you actually getting chords out of a single coil, or is there second off camera?
Also, while this is really cool to watch, I seriously hope your home insurance provider doesn't see this. They'd probably have a fit and raise your rates, warranted or not. XD

That's an awful lot of junk to be keeping around an active Tesla Coil, I woulden't be suprised if there were some dirty rags about.
They say "All it takes is one spark" well... Right fuckin' here.

1. Where did you get this tesla coil;
2. How do you get sounds out of this? With a computer programm?
3. Is it hard to understand the using?

@peaceoutwhat electricity itself is not ''hot'', it only makes metal get very warm or wood burn when it is short circuited.
