I bet that lorry driver wasn't laughing much. Them trucks cost about 60 dollars an hour to run ( uk artics cost around 42 quid per hour..) and if he'd got delayed by water, not only would he be fined, but have an expensive bill for getting the engine repaired. That said, the engine looks to be so high mounted it could be upto the doors and be fine.
either way Grand Am,s were horrible when it came to flooding, I had a 96' Grand Am SE and it flooded down my road and the water was about maybe 2ft. and i could feel the car's wheels pick up off the ground, but good thing is it never stalled, you just have to learn to keep your foot on the gas dont ever let off, and if you know its too deep and your too late to turn around cut off the motor before hitting the water
ok yeah grand ams are boats when it floods but keeping your gas down in a flood doesn't help hell if you hit deep enough water your engine will suck in water hygrolock and seize up.
so hte real thing to learn here is *SUVS AND TRUCKS ARE YOUR FRIENDS*
