  • Thanks for the wonderful tabs and videos! They finally enabled me to learn this song!

  • Thank you so much for posting the tab on your web site!

  • now ive seen everything! holy crap thats amazing!

  • @greatcomedian18 Thank you very much!

  • Awesome job! :)

  • @HarmonyShai Thank you.

  • cool take

  • @randomaccount39 Thank you.

    Jeff

  • Nice version. I use a DGDGBE tuning with the bass on 5th through 3rd strings, which sounds closer to the recording to my ear. But adding the harmony is too difficult with that tuning so I will check out your version.

Did you ever try to work out the solos?

  • @thescrounger1 No, I've never worked out the solo section. I think I'd have to be in standard tuning for that. I really need to work that section out one of these days. Jeff

  • Just wonderful! I'm going to take a stab at this from your how to vids. Do you have tabs by chance?

  • @SouthpawGuitarman Thank you! Go to my website and you'll find tabs there.

  • @jeffwahlguitar Thanks Jeff. I realized that after watching your tutorial so I dowloaded and have been working on it all week. Pretty tough but after enough practice, it starts to flow. I hope you accept my video response when I upload it. I'm planning to do so sometime this Week-end. - Cliff

  • I'm applauding here, if you can't hear me!

  • Why thank you!

    Jeff

  • are you plucking the bass part with only your thumb and if so how long did that take you to be able to do!?!

  • I can't remember if I replied yet. I am using a thumbpick for this. It took me a while I think to get it. There's another video on youtube you can look up of me teaching you how to play this.

    Jeff

  • I learned this by ear in Open G... sounds just like this... (only in G! hehehe)

  • Cool.

    Jeff

  • Amazing.

The kind of song one would make and think they could go a career without lyrics.

  • I licensed the use of this song from the publisher. It's an easy process to do and not too expensive actually.

    Thank you for the compliments!

    Jeff

  • you better read up on current laws on covering tunes and selling them there cool breeze, your statement in no way resembles the truth,it's your song now.lol

  • Thank you. Just go to itunes and look me up. You'll find this song there. You could also download it through Amazon or cdbaby.

    Jeff

  • this is jsut the version I was looking for for my wedding....is there anyway to get an MP3 of this? it would be greatly appreciated....

  • Wow, never heard it on a guitar before! Sounds fantastic! I can kind of play this on flute, but not guitar, I admire your talent.

  • Thank you so much.

    Jeff

  • damn good job doesn't quite cover it i was looking for ages how to learn this without it being a duet and u nailed it! superb job thanks.

  • Thanks a lot. That's a great compliment.

    Jeff

  • That was very very cool! Nice original choice of music, and well executed!

  • Thank you so much!

    Jeff

  • Look at Willie Nelson's guitar and you can see that anyone with enough talent can make a piece of wood with strings on it sound good in one way shape or form. Great vid, 5*

  • Good example. I don't know how that guitar is still functional, but Willie makes it sound amazing.

  • Probably not, as we know he played. i don't know how long they've been in business for but i mentioned his name because he played that song. His name is charlie and he's brown so i guess it makes sense.

  • playing a taylor doesn't make you a great guitar player. charles mingus would tell you that!

  • Charles Mingus played Taylor guitars? Wow. Who knew?

  • playing a shitty guitar doesnt make u a bad guitar player

  • Let me clarify here. Someone earlier commented on the model of guitar I was playing and I agreed that it was a good guitar. I didn't mean to offend or freak anyone out here. I was just agreeing that it is a pretty nice guitar. If you can play, it really doesn't matter what you play, it will sound good. Taylors are nice, but any guitar sounds good if you can play, no matter how cheap.

  • totally agree, I was trying to reply to 4578a's comment, i know some people who can make some shitty instruments sound amazing. loved the video

  • Cool.

  • im a guitar player too and also love taylor guitars

  • Yes, they are great guitars. I wish all my guitars were Taylors.

    Jeff

  • 5/5 i love it :) and im a drummer... awesome vid

  • Thank you very much!

    Jeff

  • Comment removed

  • minimize the screen,and just know it's a Taylor!

  • Yep. Taylors rocks.

    Jeff

  • sweet playing jeff

  • Thanks a lot.

    Jeff

  • Ohhh.. Jeff Thank you sooo much for posting this, I love it... and I see you've posted a tutorial... you are awesome, thank you thank you thank you!!! :)

  • just bought the CD and downladed the tab... thanks for putting all this material out there!

  • Right on! Thanks a lot.

    Jeff

  • isnt this the peanuts theme

  • Yes it is.

    Jeff

  • its sweet how you play the bass and the treble at the same time sounds like two guitars. trickier than it looks i'm sure

  • Thank you. It is a little tricky. I only mess up if I think about it. As long as I play from muscle memory and not the brain, it flows without being difficult, but as soon as I think about it, I often mess it up.

    Jeff

  • This is great!

  • Thank you very much.

    Jeff

  • sounds good, but I prefer David Benoit's grand piano :-)

  • O.K. This song definitely rocks on piano.

    Jeff

  • that's probably because it was composed for piano primarely (by Vince Guaraldi) :-)

That's why I don't like your video saying:Linus & Lucy - Jeff Wahl" it should say: "Linus & Lucy by Vince Guaraldi - performed by Jeff Wahl" But that is up to you.

  • This is incredibly awesome! This video shows that you have a harmonious relationship with the guitar. Congratulations! I will check out more of your videos.

  • Thank you very much. Yes the guitar has been my best friend since I was about 12 years old. The guitar has been an amazing gift to my life, definitely.

    Jeff

  • Man that sounds awesome. What guitar is that?

  • Thank you. It's a Taylor 314 CE. It's a nice sounding guitar but there is a major flaw in the electronic system. If you shop for one, make sure you find one with 9 volt batter system instead of the AA battery setup. Insist on it.

    Jeff

  • Hey man , hows things, this tune rocks along!!

  • Thank you.

    Jeff

  • Wow that's great.. I wish I could do that :-)

  • Thank you! It's not as hard as it looks.

    Jeff

  • That was incredible it would take me three months to learn it!

  • Thank you. It's not that hard once you start working on it. I also have an instructional youtube video on how to play this song.

    Jeff

  • Genious.

  • Thank you!

    Jeff

  • i cant get enough of this arrangement! i'm going to attempt learning it...although my thumb is not having a good time haha. thank you for this song!

  • You're very welcome. It does take a little while to teach the thumb to think indepently of the rest of the fingers.

    Jeff

  • Sounds good in your tuning. Try tuning down a 1/2 step and doing it in standard. I still haven't seen anyone doing the middle swing part on guitar.

  • That's a good idea. I used to play it in standard and it sounds very good in that tuning too. That middle swing section is something I should work up. That would add a lot to this arrangement. I just need to stop being lazy and do it.

    Jeff

  • would this be possible for me to learn in a month? I have a guitar but i dont know how to play. I play piano and i was thinking of doing linus and lucy in our winter carnival talent show but it would be even cooler to play it on guitar!

  • Well, I don't know if this will happen in a month. It would be a good goal to shoot for though. Even if you weren't able to play it perfectly in a month, I bet your playing would improve a lot by the end of the month. If you haven't played before, I think maybe this will be a little hard. Give it a try. You never know unless you try.

    Jeff

  • very well done and enjoyable to listen to.

  • Thank you!

    Jeff

  • hey thanks for puttin this up. what a happy song that brings me back to snowy Christmas time as a kid your splitting of the bass and melody was done with relaxed presision. real good dude is it standard tuning?

  • Thank you. Yes, this song is tied to a lot of great memories for me too. I play this arrangment in D major tuning [D,A,D,F#,A,D]. There is a tab for it at my website and there are a few instructional videos from me on youtube that show you how to play this.

    Jeff

  • thanks for the reply friend i see your a fan of Ackerman man he had it real rough at a young age and he's an inspiration. have you heard of Adrian Legg what a wizard of guitar. i just watched your video on your channel and i love how you do the percussion thing, i try that but fail slightly. nice 12 string my Dad used to have one but drove over it. haha

  • Yes, I love Will Ackerman's music. I had read that he had a really awful childhood and that's part of what inspired him musically. Too bad about the crushed 12 String. Ouch!

    Jeff

  • Wow. So smoooooooooth!

  • Thank you very much!

    Jeff

  • Hi, Jeff!

    I'm now 51 years old, I play, since I'm 17.

I ever wanted to play this lovely tune!

Many, many, many thanks for teaching and posting

    this one at youtube!

    Amazing!

    Season's greetings and God's blessing

    for your work!

Wolfgang from the Ruhrvalley in Germany!

  • Thanks a lot. That's very nice. I'm so glad you enjoyed this. Happy Holidays from the state of Colorado, USA.

    Jeff

  • Wow...what a great twist!! Very nice bright sound.

  • Thanks a lot. A lot of that is due to the guitar. It's a Taylor 314CE. Definitely the cleanest and clearest sounding guitar I've ever owned.

    Jeff

  • Is that a "normal" tuning or is it tuned especially for this piece?

    Awesome picking by the way.

  • Thank you. This is in [D,A,D,F#,A,D].

    Jeff

  • I thought it sounded familiar, I use the same tuning on dobro sometimes, and with the F tuned natural it gives me the minor chord which is fun too. I never tried this song before though. It sounds great on your guitar.

  • Cool. I've never played with the f kept natural, making it a D minor chord. That would be cool. I'll try that.

    Jeff

  • awesome cover

have you heard bela fleck and the flecktones cover of this?

    its pretty good.

  • Thank you. Yes, Bela Fleck is amazing. I can't believe what he does on the Banjo. His whole band is amazing.

    Jeff

  • Sounds so much better on guitar. Ever check out a French guitarist called Marcel Dadi? His style kind of reminds me of yours, especially on the album he made with Chet Atkins.

  • Yes, I looked him up from your recommendation. He's great! Thank you.

    Jeff

  • anytime man...do you have other songs?

  • Yes, go to my youtube site and you'll find a whole bunch of videos of my songs there. I also have 4 cd's out which you can find online pretty easily, or by going to my website.

    Jeff

  • you do the best job i have ever seen on guitar with this song. You are an inspiration to me and all who who play guitar. I love your song.

  • Wow, thanks a lot. That's really terrific of you. Thank you.

    Jeff

  • Very lovely... A new perspective on a beloved jazz tune!

  • Thank you very much!

    Jeff

  • Hello Jeff -

I have been a fan of yours for quite a while. Great playing, great technique - and I am happy to say I now share the same Magnatune Label with you. My name is David Modica and I hope to have some live videos coming up soon - till then I just posted 3 under "David Modica Guitarist". If you get a chance - check them out - and to all your fans also - please do check them out.

Your song "Guinevere" inspired my song "Stay With Me" on my album "Timeless"

    sincerely - David Modica

  • Thanks a lot David. That's so great that I influenced your music. What a great compliment. Congratulations on getting signed by Magnatune. They are great. Your music sounds great. Keep up the great composing and playing!

    Jeff

  • Thank you Jeff... much appreciated

    David

  • .43 -.51 the progressive, swelling hammer-ons were a fantastic touch.

  • Thank you very much. What a great compliment. Thank you.

    Jeff

  • You are super good! Do you like Indiana JOnes? I Do!

  • Thank you. Yes, I just saw the latest movie. It was great.

  • nothin'sounds like a Taylor

  • Amen.

  • Really great sound there Jeff. Inspiring..and looks like loads of fun!

  • Thank you. It is pretty fun to play. It's not that hard either.

    Jeff

  • you're really good ^.^

  • Thank you very much.

    Jeff

  • your just like my dad a really greart guitarest

  • Thank you very much. That's very nice.

    Jeff

  • I get so lost in your music. Would love it if you would put an audio version of Linus & Lucy on your MySpace page, so I can bless my humble page with it. ;)

  • Thank you. I'll work on that. It might be a few months. I'm working on a new album that will have an updated recording of it that's better than my original version.

    Jeff

  • 'looks like it's really fun to play.

Sounds great. Was it difficult to get down?

  • It is pretty fun. It takes a little coordination but it's not really that hard. There is a tab for it at my website. I'm going to post a video lesson later this week on how to play this.

    Jeff

  • You're great at guitar!

  • Thank you so much. I try!

    Jeff

  • Just a lot of fun to listen to...great stuff

  • Thank you very much!

    Jeff

  • Nice!!!!!

  • Thank you!

    Jeff

  • Cool song! i always hear this but i never knew the name! Good playing!

  • Thank you very much!

    Jeff

  • very nice playing Jeff. I've loved this piece for years. it's the only tune i hear at xmas time that i never get tired of. A job well done

  • Thank you very much! I never get sick of this tune either. So many good memories are tied to it.

    Jeff

  • And this version fits the show-- it has a classic, rustic feel.

  • Cool. Thank you.

    Jeff

  • Very nice Guitar playing! I absolutely loved this theme growing up watching my dad's old Charlie Brown movies. This really brought back a lot of memories! :)

    Very nice! Five Stars!

  • Thank you very much. Yes, this song is really attached to a lot of great childhood memories for me too!

    Jeff

  • another great song! thanks for posting it!

  • Thank you, and you're very welcome.

    Jeff

  • i demand you to post a lesson on how to play this!

    I demand!!! :P

    on another note...good job :)

  • A youtube lesson will be coming soon on this.

    Jeff

  • in that case

    Subscribed! :P

    thanks ~

  • wow!

  • Thank you!

    Jeff

  • O_O *small voice* your welcome O_O

  • Very good arrangement!, post it playing with the capo in the 4th fret

  • Thank you. Maybe I will.

    Jeff

  • This is really fun to play in drop D like he's doing, and he adds little things of his own to make it nice. I kinda wish he would've gone up an octave with the melody, that would've sounded cool, but I really like it keep posting stuff like this..

  • Thank you. It sounds a little closer to the original if you capo the guitar at the 4th fret. That puts it into the key used in the piano original.

    Jeff

  • maybe you did this on purpose, but your baseline

rhythm is wrong. i don't know how to tell you how to do it the right way in text, so oh well. nice job though

  • I don't think he could have played it right if he wasn't fingerpicking it I don't know though, somebody probably can.

  • that's pretty amazing.

  • Thank you.

    Jeff

  • oops i forgot to thank vince.

  • Thank you. Good point on instrument priority. It would be interesting to hear some classic guitar songs, like by Leo Kottke, played on the piano. I can't think of any standard guitar pieces that have been made popular in piano arrangments.

    Jeff

  • just great man.

its interesting how the subject of instrument priority came up.

(i wonder?), hypothetically if the tune was introduced on the guitar if we now would be sayin' "no i like it on guitar, just makes sense"

Anyways i digress, really enjoyed this.

now back to the music room, but piano or guitar?

  • I would also like to pass along my compliments. Even though I believe that "Linus and Lucy" is more suited for the piano, this is a VERY cool version of the song.

Congratulations on a job well done. I certainly enjoy listening to it.

  • Thank you very much. It is definitely a piano song. When I came up with this arrangement, years ago, I just wanted to see if I could play a song so specific to the piano on confines of the guitar. It's not perfect, but it's a good exercise for developing independence of parts on the guitar.

    Jeff

  • Dude, your a genius. The is by far, my #1 favorite rendition of Linus and Lucy (on any instrument) on YouTube.

  • Thank you so much! That's really nice of you to say that.

    Jeff

  • This is really cool - best one I've heard that's not on the piano. I do like it better on the piano, but you did a really great job on it - the best I've heard so far (on a non-piano instrument). :D Keep up the good work!

  • Thanks a lot. The original can never be topped. I will definitely agree with that. Vince Guaraldi (the original composer)was a genius of the highest caliber.

    Jeff

  • that was sweet, never heard it played on guitar

  • Thank you very much.

    Jeff

  • better on piano WAY BETTER, but best variation on a different instrument

  • Thank you.

    Jeff

  • congurlations and thanks jef wahls music wonderful..

  • Thank you so much!

    Jeff

  • The adaptation of this I've seen written out used a double dropped D tuning (DADGBD)

  • That was insane! use any special tuning?

  • Yes, it's in D,A,D,F#,A,D.

    Jeff

  • This is the best version I've ever heard.

    You're really good.

    Two Hundred And Sixty Seven/Five.

  • Thank you very much.

    Jeff

  • that was phunken wicked man

  • Thanks a lot.

    Jeff

  • wow this is really good!! i wish i could play like that

  • Thank you very much.

    Jeff

  • taylor rules

  • Yes, Taylors are great guitars. I wish all my guitars were Taylors. Expensive, but worth every penny.

    Jeff

  • Loved in this the movie "Boogie Nights!"

  • can u send me the tabs to this i love the song im learning it on the piano too
