Thanks for posting this excellent tribute to a genre that has been my favorite since I first saw Star Trek on TV and started reading Heinlein at the age of eight... I should go back to that pile of over 100 paperbacks that I haven't read yet ;0
I'm a massive sci- fi fan and a few of my faves are in there Wayne... The Forbidden Planet and The Incredible Shrinking Man in particular . Awesome movies in their day!
Back in the 70's I imagined we would be driving in flying cars by 2010 and was of course wrong but who would ever have imagined computers would play such a huge role in 21st century society back in the 50's ???
So true about the computers. Arthur C Clarke predicted satellites and that came true. We haven't been able to shrink anyone yet.. but HEY, who knows? LOL
Always good to be in the company of fellow sci-fi fans. Thx for watching and the thumbs up, Billy. :)
Me too, Russ. Ever since I was little i've been fascinated by the futurism of sci-fi. Some predictions, as with Arthur C Clarke, turn into reality. Cheers mate!
Great trip back in time, Saint. I remember those faces at 1:38 so well :D Why don't you save the footage you didn't use and make another one to get it more out of your system? LOL...loved it, Saint :) but next time let's do without the giant spiders, k?
You like those hot astro studs, Liz? Got plenty more where that came from..;) As for the tarantula, he was a little fella compared to the nuclear zapped house sized one I was going to use, but thought it traversed the line into horror.
Thinking here: maybe I should do a sci fi vid for each decade? The 60s coming up next... Possibilities. Thankyou as always for your supportive remarks. :)
My late husband loved Scifi ! I am so-so with it! I saw him in a dream and it was so real that I was shaken ! He said, :I'm back and he was in his blue fleece jacket & carrying a grocery bag! I said its OK now! I cry when I think about it because it was so REAL. My best friend was so close, yet so far. It seemed as if he had to say something to me.I talk t
Marion, I know it must be hard for you. To be so close to someone and then lose them is a terrible trial of life. I know that he would want you to be strong and happy as is possible. And remember, he is always with you in thought and heart. :)
5*! I am a sci-fi geek, myself. I saw one of my all time faves here...Forbidden Planet...The Tempest in outer space! LOL The Incredible Shrinking Man (I think that's the name) was also an amazing film. Saw a lot of films I grew up on. THanks!!
Join the club! I adore science fiction. If that's being a geek i'm a paid up member. Yes The Incredible Shrinking Man, Forbidden Planet. There are so many 50s clips out there it was murder leaving so much out. Even the very worst of it was good in it's way. Thx for the 5, Toni. Glad you enjoyed. :)
The possibility is still there, Toni. It won't be long before space tourism is a reality. If it's within my lifetime (pretty sure it will be) i'll be at the head of the queue for my ticket to orbit. I'll see you up there. :)
Jazzy babe! Yeah, us boys love our sci fi. Maybe it;s because we are explorers at heart? Just what we like to explore i'll leave to your imagination. ;) Thx for watching, and ALWAYS good hearing from you. :)
Great job as usual Wayne. Funny how what was awe- inspiring and futuristic in the fifties is now funny and campy. I recognized quite a few of those clips. Great tribute to a bygone era of film. Keep up the good work - but then why worry, I KNOW you will ;-) Cheers, Mate!
It just goes to show how convinced we are that the present knows all. In 50s years time they'll be giggling at us lol. Thx for the thumbs up, Celt, always appreciate your opinion and thank YOU for sending me the This Island Earth footage. I owe you, mate. :)

Excellent idea to do it by decades, yes. And I remember what those hot astro studs did to my innards at the time; it weren't pleasant.
And thank you as always for your most supportive remarks during the Joe crisis....an axe, wasn't it? :P

Just my way of settling the horses. Funny how our imaginations can run away with us. Still think it was a mouse. ;)

Thanks to much of this, when I was little, I wanted to grow up and be an astronaut. Given the chance to go up there now...I'd still do it! :)

Why is it that men love SIFI? Is it the technics, the machines or actresses dressed in tight costumes?? LOL!
Great video, Sainter Babe - very funny, just wonderful.
