well, the content of the music certainly represents the premise behind what the artist is expressing. ive always focused on what the musician is writing because it gives one an idea of the inspiration or purpose behind the music. in rap, chuck d has always represented to me what an intelligent rapper is. My personal recommendation for simply brilliant artists in music are Morrissey and Shane Macgowan. both write amazing songs and accompany them with equally remarkable musicianship. cheers
