    This is great!

  • great drinking song

  • By far my favorite mischief brew song.

  • I used to listen to him when I was about 10 from my sister. I'm so glad all these years later some people actually know about him now!

  • holy fuckin shit, i love this song!!!!

  • Was that Hard "Times Cafe in Minneapolis" ? If so , is bike club still around ? Hopefully.

  • i cant find this one on itunes! why isnt it up there?

  • This song gives me no other desire than to read Walden again

  • @Kai14 As much as I love the idea of that book, reading it is like pulling teeth.

  • this band fucking rocks PERIOD!

  • This song is amazing!

  • Wow how I never heard of this band they're great. Murder by Death brought me here.

  • I am curious what album this is from too. I really want this song in my library. Fucking live mischief brew

  • @letsEATmushrooms it's from the split between erik petersen and robert blake

  • @xKILGORExTROUTx <<< yep he/she is right the split is called Bellingham and Philadelphia

    P.S. BUY IT

  • one of the best songs ever.

  • What CD is this from?

  • @anessenator split with erik petersen and robert blake

  • @xKILGORExTROUTx

    Cheers

  • Got to meet this guy at an acoustic show, it was awesome chillin with a crowd of people who knew all the words. Quite a crew of folks.

  • wow this is amazing... just amazing......

  • This makes me miss the old days

  • 3:10 is that Erik Petersen and his wife?

  • @TurtlesButtNaked No, it's just a photography of Robert Doisneau, named "La Baiser" (the kiss). I didn't have many pics of Mischief Brew and so I mixed them with other ones i like for the video :) ...

  • awesome song =]

  • I love this song too much to think.

  • Love it

  • how am I just hearing this now??? This is wondrous!

  • Erik, hope fortune's been kind. I'll always remember Philly basements and weak homebrew, park takeovers and sweaty singalongs. You're the beating heart of that city, man. Stay true.

  • @flemingia they usually only come to philly

  • Fuckin' amazing.

  • one of those perfect songs

  • Do they still come to Jersey?

  • Every single song by this band is a musical masterpiece, they are some of the most talented musicians I've ever heard. COME TO NEW JERSEY MISCHIEF BREW AND ERIK PETERSON ACCEPT MY DAMN FRIEND REQUEST ON FACEBOOK!

  • @spankyrapper would help if you spelt petersen right.

  • @killikab im no professional at the art of literature but spelt is not a word, next time you start calling people out for stupid, mundane bullshit think about what i just said to you.

  • @Xeno7241

"spelt- a simple past and past participle of spell"

    good game sir.

  • This song makes me feel sad for some strange reason.

  • I think I listen to this song a few times a day. I love it so much

  • this song just is so perfect *-* i love it

  • the chords are D, G, Bm, A, G, D, A. its like that the whole song except the very begining its played on the low E string and it goes 10, 3, 7, 5, 3, 5, 3, 5 then it goes straight into the chords, they are usually played in bar chords but they can be played in open chords. have fun and keep listening to good music.

  • @tylurcousins I thought it started on F?

  • @zzyzx0788 well you can if you play it in a completely different key. but i dont think you would know how to change the key unless you know some stuff about music theory. but i believe he plays in the key of D. anyways thats how i play it and it sounds correct

  • @tylurcousins I know how to change keys, and if you play it in D then your chords are correct, but I'm almost positive its in F to start.

  • @zzyzx0788 ummm well theoretically we both play it right just different keys. so the way to find out which key is actually correct would be to play your way along to the song..... then play my ways. what ever one matches the key to the song is correct

  • @tylurcousins ...which I'm pretty sure is F though.

  • @zzyzx0788 all of the tabs i found were D. whatever im not gonna argue about something this stupid on the internet. play it however the hell you want

  • @tylurcousins Not tryin to arguin. Just tryin to figure things out straight. But whatever, its all good.

  • @zzyzx0788 okay :)

  • @tylurcousins Good tab. Those arguing with it aren't reading it right XD

  • This is the only song I like by them. It just flows so much better than the other ones.

  • @MrFisch3r your a fag

  • @woooooooo654 I hate that word. But this band does kick ass.

  • @MrFisch3r Hmm, it might be that this song is from Erik Petersen's acoustic solo work and not Mischief Brew, strictly speaking.

  • @JohannVII its from the Bellingham & Philadelphia split album. erik peterson and robert blake.

  • thank you to song poster eluria19 i think, i had this on a cd about 5 years ago and once the cd broke i thought the song was lost forever i never knew the artist or song name only the lyrics and thanks to google and you i found it again!

  • 1 person is a stick-in-the-mud

  • love this

  • how can there be one dislike on this?!?!?! this is truly music right here. this is fantastic

  • i can listen to stuff like this all day...

  • i can listen to stuff like this all day...

  • I don't know if anyones posted the chords on here, and the chords online are wrong, or at least ONE chord is and theres details missing, so i think il be a good person and help everyone out!

    Capo on the 3rd fret

    D G B A G D A and thats like the whoooooole song including chorus

Really hope this helps some of you! :) - Daniel

  • Fuck me this is a good song

  • great song.really great

  • Whoa! I love that they show a clip of hard times! Minneapolis is where its at.

  • no one dislike. Its clear to see why

  • Utterly brilliant, I love this band.

  • it was because of this song that i started reading the work of Henery David Thoreau

  • I likes this.

  • Yes fuckin A ! Mischief brew , one of my new favourite bands

  • This band has been like my new Against me for the last few years. I love Mischief Brew so goddam much. I first saw them at a Leftover Crack show in Chicago bout 4 or 5 years ago, had never heard of them, and it was one of the funnest sets for a band I didn't know I'd ever seen. Then after the show since their set got cut short Erik Peterson played a free acoustic set near the venue with just an acoustic guitar and about 20 fans and I've been in love with them ever since.

  • Below some wise words from Thoreau,

and they call me throwback when I cry remember!

Come sit down we're lamenting about yesterday's sad ending, the water in the whiskey, the brass passed off as gold.

I love this song, can't stop singing it when I'm walking around.

  • The lyrics are great. The music makes me smile. Together, it's fucking gold.

  • ah fuck i mixed up the chords sorry for spam but i took the time to tab this out so i wanna pass it on all together the song goes: F, A#, D5, C, A#, C, A#, C

    Chorous: F, A#, F, A#, D5, A#, D5, A#, C

  • @smokadagonja23 Finally someone who knows the tabs right. Jesus all online tabs are horribly off for this song

  • I cried inside.

  • really great song!

    how does the chords go?

  • @blojbabis the chords go F A# (at 1 and 3 on the a string kinda bar the power chord) D5 (Dchord with out the note on the bottom e) C A# C A# in conclusion thats (F, A#, D5, C, A#, C, A#) at least thats how i play it i just tabbed it out today so i might find a better way in time but thats what i got for now. I tabbed the solo too, let me know if you want it

  • @smokadagonja23 can u send me the solo?

  • @smokadagonja23

    Thanks!!

I'll try to play it, i can ask about the solo if i can't figure it out myself!

  • @blojbabis to all the people asking about the solo i just started writing down the tabs and im not familiar with do so but i should have it up in the next day or two keep a look out!

  • this song makes my dick hard

  • i can't stop playing this it's so good!

  • @kamzillah Me too!

  • Instead of "about the water in your whiskey" it should be "about the water in me whiskey"

But thank you for the upload, this is an amazing song.

  • OMFG I know this song from Guitar Hero3!!

  • @againstish thats sad

  • Whats the name of this album this song is on ?

    I can't find it anywhere.

  • it's not "mistook" is just "stick"

  • this shit is tight son!

  • This shit is Bad Ass

  • Small lyrics change needed, "and fills my glasses

we're livin' in the past" is

    "and fills my glass,

says we're livin' in the past"

  • tits or gtfo

  • i just moved into my grandfathers house yesterday, temporarily, he grew up during depression era on a dairy farm in Walton, NY Delaware county, he was a meticulous record keeper, kept every damned receipt or bill, had the knowledge and skills to grow the best garden in town, but he passed away and his tools/works are set to auction. makes me sick to think who's going to buy this place/it's contents, this song has stuck with me for years, and is more relevant to me now more than ever.

  • @punchachristian1 my grandfather grew up at that time too, his father had bought a farm in Illinois and had passed it to my grandfather and his brothers. But unfortunately it was not able to be passed to their kids because the State of Illinois took the farm with eminent domain. on the plus side the land that was their farm is now part of Illinois' Chain-O-Lakes State Park and not a giant subdivision like a lot of the other land in the area.

  • @punchachristian1 Sorry to hear that he's passed. Good on you for remembering him through such amazing tunes.

  • @punchachristian1 it may just be the song in the backround, but that was touching. i dont know who u are so we can't clank glasses, but if i did know u, i would say "here's to ur grampa. cheers" while listening to this :)

  • fan-fucking-tastic song

  • chill to this song every night! never gets old

  • i found this song not too long ago and loved it! as a matter of fact years ago me and my pops were using a two man saw talking about basically the same things. hell it comes up in conversation very offten between us. funny though that im typing this out on a computer. anywho, great song!

  • anyone know which song stza sings in?

  • @thedude3214 ten thousand fleas

  • wat album is this on? im trying to find it

  • @prodiptoshouse its on a robert blake/erik petersen split album. you can still get the cd at interpunk d0t c0m but i dont think you'll find a copy on vinyl anymore

  • The percussion is the perfect icing on the cake.

  • this is a very good video. erik petersen is very elusive when it comes to having his picture taken, so you won't find many pictures of him. some of the words are still incorrect, but I think the meaning of the song comes through. He is a poet, and one of the best guitarists around.

  • love.

  • its rare to find good music like this any more,

  • does anyone know where that factory is at 4:16?

  • p.a. i forget the town il ask me pa message me back so i dont forget to ask

  • @uptehpunxxx I think its in Dover, New Hampshire. Why?

and please feel free to correct the lyrics if still mistakes existing!

  • aha dont be embarassed :P took me a little while to hear what he was actually saying at firs too :)

  • "shout the souls as folk artistry" should be "shall be sold as folk artistry"

And hey, don't sweat it man, you did an awesome thing putting this together.

  • @Eluria19 Haha. I <3 Chingrish.

  • @Eluria19 You only made a few mistakes and your english is REALLY good! Don't be embarrassed :) I'm glad you wrote them down because some of the words, I couldn't understand myself xD and I'm a native speaker!
