  • on my screen u really can't tell the difference between SD and HD but thats because my laptop is an lcd screen lol i just wanted to know if it was worth it to buy movies in hd but i guess not since i dont have an hd screen thanks for the help megahd

  • true results!!!

  • not a true comparison, the HD version seems sharpened up with a mask. use the same video for both halves next time noob...

  • @alexhamster1134 Yeah blah blah, did you ever shot with HDV cams? Probably not. And the given examples here are splendid, excellent choice.

  • @xpgx1 most cameras made after 2009 are "HD" pixel resolution, even african tribesmen carry HD cams around in the form of phones. theyve got fuck all to eat, but they have iphones! sharpening a video is a bit like "cheating".

  • ermm so how was this made?

Asking because there are a billion comparison videos made by manufactures which are complete bs.

  • I did playback at 480p and there is still a difference in sharpness! So the "PAL"-side doesn't use the full resolution of 576 lines!

  • 30p is NTSC, not PAL!

  • Ye, I can really see the difference! I always watch BBC One HD instead of BBC One and ITV1 HD instead of ITV1

  • Oh I see!

  • You guys who are looking at the HD side with a SD monitor aren't going to see any difference, surely? Because if you were able to view HD then you would have a HD monitor already? Am I being slow?

So... is this video just for people with HD monitors to gloat about how much crisper their railroads and windmills and strawberries look?

Incidentally, I too am interested in how you managed to film two different qualitites side by side. I presume you used a camera that could film in both definitions?

  • @april101ninja ever heard of video editing software??? and no this video is not editted... this video is only 2 videos playing at once..... and you shouldn't be too stupid... that we can use 2 camera's at the same time... please... think more broad the next time ok?... some people these days....terrible..

  • @romthunder & just as an aside while I'm here - my OP suggets I am asking whether you used two cameras or merely shot in two definitions with the same camera - not whether you used editing software of any kind. Kindly direct your rudeness to the appropriate candidate next time.

  • @april101ninja rudeness...oh i love rudeness.. cuz it shakes people into doing stuff ... now.... where did i say that you said or something like that it was editted???? i dont think i ever did..... better luck next time.....

  • @april101ninja You are missing something, monitors have been "HD" for years and years and years :) Basically if your monitor shows 1280x720 (or anything higher) then you have a monitor that is or exceeds 720p HD

  • @henniganwilson Yeah totally. I guess I must have just assumed people here to compare HD to SD didn't already have HD... although I came here, so... Assumption- mother of all f**kups. Heh.

  • i dont see much different of hd and sd? hd is better but the video is only 720p thats why i dont see much different :s

where is the video for 1080p? (btw i dont have a hd laptop)

  • i mean the difference is there sure.....but u can only tell the difference when u are watching SD and HD side by side.....other wise u will be as satisfied with an SD as much as u are with an HD Television!

  • THE definite HD testvideo out there! i've never found a better one.

  • @notthere83 lols seriously? i really honestly cant tell that much of a difference on youtube unfortunatley, at all

  • WOOAAH :] i'm getting HD

  • all of my tvs are 1080p even my computer, and in 1080/720 you can see in the cracks of wood :)

  • too many blind person.

  • non c'è grande differenza...

  • The SD is totally blury and the HD is really sharp

  • i have a 32 in screen so its easy to see suttle differences but if you look at it full screen then its very different

  • @2010yohnny i see the sames differences u see with a 15.4", its not about screen size but resolution

  • its one picture with a slash through it

  • I just saw a clown in high def. :( 1:27

  • i see no differance

  • @RawwestHide u r blind sorry

  • HUGE Difference.

    720p at FULL SCREEN

    The difference is astonishing.

  • I don't notice anything

  • thank you for this junky video, even when in HD, there was slight difference in the images when in full screen, windowed? I saw no difference, and it looks the same in HD as it does in SD. way to go YouTube editors, you put HD quality, in the SD container.

  • @Zeldagigafan90210 dude did u click HD

  • hdftw

  • You know I have a VX 2000 and have shot with HD SONY FX1. Unless I have the facility to shot with the High end HD's eg. Red One then I am going to stick with the SD format. You can light it and filter it with Tiffens FXIII difuser filter and you can get a magnificent look specially at 16:9. Not a snob so far until the technology refines itself.

  • Wait a moment. How did it?. 1 camera and after convert, or 2 cameras and edit 2 files mixing in one?

  • im staying with SD because im already low enough in memory most times, i dont need gigabyte files popping up from 10 min of recording

  • little difference? wow you need glasses xD look at 0:38

  • nice video but very little difference imo.

  • Slight difference but not major
