well, its a very simple solo, took me maybe a couple of days to figure out and practice it.

Ive been playing for 6 years now.

Wow, awesome. Even after listening to the solo for a 100th time, it still makes me feel very sad that I haven't begun learning guitar sooner or started listening to Pearl Jam earlier. Gonna be 1 month now since I bought a guitar. Any idea how long it will take me so I can play Alive or at least Jeremy and Even flow decently? Doesn't have to be perfect now, but decent. I'll probably average an hour a day of playing, possibly more. Oh, and, are pedals necessary to get that kind of sound?

well, that depends, might take a couple of months, or 6, or 1 year. The good thing is: Its entirely up to you :D

A cheap solid state marshall amp and a crybaby are enough to get a decent pearl jam tone

I'll be realistic and say 9 months :D I see you didn't have any real guitar lessons. I have learn and master guitar dvd series, which is, according to many people, best thing for a beginner guitarist to learn from. If anyone asks you where to learn guitar from, I'd definitely recommend it too. It's 250 bucks but you can get it for 0 bucks if you know what I mean.

Guitar Center no envia a México. Pero hay algo que yo siempre hago cuando compro a GC.

Its not hard but it takes a lot of time.

I recommend you to try it. Take lessons or learn by yourself, there are lots of free courses out there.

If after some weeks you see guitar practicing as a boring task, or as an obligation to get to be a rockstar, it will mean guitar is not for you. But if you cant wait for your fingers to stop hurting and play guitar again, well, it means guitar is for you, and time will not matter cuz you enjoy playing guitar.

A new strat on Guitar Center is on 500 dollars.
