Yes Hitchens lost the debate. He was one of the more decent atheist of our time. Even when he attacked religion, one is compelled to forgive. But not to give him too much credit, here before Craig, he certainly was out of his depth.

I like that Graig illustrated the formulation of "faith" as evidential plus the affirmation from God in ones heart. Truth must align with the evidence but evidence alone is not sufficient. One must go inwards.

Im Muslim but the Christian guy actually made some brilliant points in there, which I think apply just as aptly to Islam. Hitchens didnt have a leg to stand on by the end of it. Excellent debate, really enjoyed it.

Beginning at 1:24 where he elaborates on this "given the stakes" that others would have the right to tell him what to do "in the name of God" brings up so many questions that could be posed it borderlines limitless. Nobody gets evidence until they take the step in Faith. Then the eyes are opened & life is revealed! Atheists should ask themselves these: "What do I have to lose if I don't step out in Faith?" Typical atheist angry at the whole world, yes, including, for some reason, God, someone whom they cannot see, but feel that he's to blame for everything anyway. Well as a Christian, im not here to judge, but "hammered" and "failed miserably", I have no sympathy, he should've just stayed home and took his anger out on "trimming hedges" or "chopping wood" and leave the important debates up to Good, honest, smart people with an objective, logic and indeed, rationale. Very dissapointed with Hitchens. He comes across as a person being angry at God because he feels He dosen't care about humanity. He also could not provide mathematical data like the theist did rather just provide "charming" quotes of 18th and 19th century philosophers and men of limited science.

There is no excuse for anyone not knowing that a Savior (God) would be born of a woman to make everything right because that is what God told Adam and Eve. Only the descendents of Seth cared about the word of the Lord and called on His name.
The truth has been around since the beginning and there's no excuse for anyone not knowing about it. We have to admit the guilt of our forefathers, if we never heard.
So one thing atheists cannot say that I can say is the truth, only our Maker can save us.

The truth of everything has been around for thousands of years. It is that there is a Maker of everything. Now I can prove there is such a Maker because the function of hydrogen working inside of us as ordained has a Maker and the Maker of the function of hydrogen is the Maker of all matter in the universe consisting primarily and initially of hydrogen. So there is One Maker of one set of working elements made to function in one set of life forms and there is no evidence of any other maker.

Beginning at 1:24 where he elaborates on this "given the stakes" that others would have the right to tell him what to do "in the name of God" brings up so many questions that could be posed it borderlines limitless. I personally believe this whole statement from him only shows that he is the typical atheist posing scenarios for his unbelief that are fallacious, only God and not any person who believes in God has the right to make such impositions.

Hitchens was once an atheist but Craig's working on him. I see him in this debate sliding across to agnosticism. He doesn't understand the basic premise of Faith being required. Nobody gets evidence until they take the step in Faith. Then the eyes are opened & life is revealed! Atheists should ask themselves these: "What do I have to lose if I don't step out in Faith?" "What do I have to lose if I do?"
