  • Could someone tell me the title and orchestra or band playing the music?

  • amazing, i hope i can move like this when im older

  • this is the real deal i feel like some of the new variations miss whats important. practicing this style has healed many of my severe health problems and i still practice at least 3 hours a day.

  • totaly full of "inside" and so great move for this guy,

we need to learn about it ... is like dance for black people, they get it when they born !

  • Wow! Thaks for this!

  • Im amazed--the second man did Cannon Fist! I thought older folks only did the first form you see here, Yi Lu, which I do. Now, I am setting a goal to learn Cannon Fist, if he's not too old, neither am I!

  • tnx for posting Funfront :)

still glad i have this in my playlist ^_^

  • so good!

  • Wow... This rocks!

I say this because they are not merely rehearsing taiji, but they are actually following the flow and playing taiji! Just wonderful...

  • we should all be so active when we are there ages all three of them amazing

  • How can I download this to my iTouch? I love this guy!

  • Could someone post a video of a european westerner doing Taji Quann, I want to practice with it daily an find the available vids mesmerising an too elaborate for my poor ungraceful body to be able to take on board, I also don't want to confuse myself when in class??

  • I would rather you do your best to "ape" a good Asian practitioner than to perfectly copy a less than stellar "Westerner" doing slightly off form. I am not saying there are NO good Westerners just saying that in general it's harder to find. Just my 2 cents. I also have to question how legit you are saying you have done Tai Chi 2 years now you should have a very very good idea about the basics such as posture, moving, breath, etc. The videos out there on DVD are usually good to very good.

  • LOL!... I feel like an Ape when I watch others...by hey there's still hope!!

My tutor, who is in my opinion extremely good! has pointed me to Chen Zheglei 18 form, which covers what I've been doing in class...and I'll take on board all the pointers I've recently been given...if I ever become less "ape" like I'll post a vid on an you can all tell me where I'm going wrong or right!!!....don't hold ur breath could be n'other two years!!

  • If you don't mind me asking where are you from? You don't seem to use certain idioms the same way as an American would. Are you from Europe? Remember tha Taijiquan can take a lifetime to master. The most important thing is to "internalize" the movements", go slowly, move soundly, breath smoothly and quietly, and always act as if a real opponent was there! That's about it as the chi will take care of itself. Easier said than done but... practice makes perfect. Or better at least. Namaste

  • Thanks for your two cents..s'appreciated!. I'm from alot of places mainly Uk/Wales/Paris@France, I've lived abou ten years in each place an feel, I suppose european, bloodwise I'm a mix of Jamaican and English. Currently residing in Brighton which is very multicultural.

  • make up your own chi flow

  • I'm pretty new to Thai Chi think it's been just under two years, one hour a week...just starting to remember the form. I have a question?. I have injured my achilies heel doing too much skipping. I've stopped excecising part from 3 hours of yoga an thai chi a week. I'm piling on pounds an wondered how much thai chi I can do at home a week without aggravating my heel?. Also how much would I need to do to become extremely fit?? If anyone could inform me I would be most grateful. natx

  • I would reccomend trying Yichuan (standing practice) or some vigorous Qi Gong to strengthen your heel. Yoga or Tai Chi in class 3 hours a week might not make an impact in weight loss. You should try to do at least a few minutes of Tai Chi 5 to 6 days a week. If you injured your ankle doing Tai Chi you should consult your instructor; that would most likely be a result of improper footwork or stance. A lot of people hurt their knees in beginning Tai Chi for the same reason. Good luck :)

  • Thanks for replying, I injured it through skipping for 30mins 4 days a week for 4 weeks!...won't be doing that again as it's put me out of action for ten weeks!

  • First off you need to get your diet under control, if you are "piling on the pounds" you are eating crappy junk food most likely and at least eating too much. Taiji should be done at least 30 minutes to an hour every day for life. It is a lifestyle not an occasional activity. Even golfers when they play walk about 3-5 hours total in just one day!

  • I have a terrible sweet tooth, which I have trouble controling (I control it by eating high cacoa content chocolate an not eatin the crap sold in corner shops, as well as baking my own!)...I will attempt to implement doing it every day. Trouble is I'm better if I have an example in front of me. I just get mesmerised by watching the different styles on here, they're all more elaborate than what we do in class (s'been majorly broken down for us westerners.)..

  • You done taiji for at least two years but yet you spell taiji with an "H"... "Thai"...is a nationality..i think the spelling is without the "H"...lol Thai and Tai are two completly different things lol

  • Yes well I am a dumb westerner afterall an am obviously in need of educating!...I will endeavour to spell it correctly from now on x

  • LOL nice sarcasim! I make spelling faults all day day long, i just like pointing things out to be an ass. haha

  • U gotta find pleasure in life where you can! I don't mind how you get ur kicks as long as you do as life is short...t'would be a shame not to laugh along the way..natx

  • These gentlemen are amazing. I hope I can move like they do when I reach their age.

  • actually the second guy was doing chen poi

  • This is awesome footage. Very, very pristine movements. No doubt these seniors of something to be revered. For the individual who posted a comment by the name of mabu, who indicated that the second player looked like he was doing shaolin quan and taizu chan quan, you are mistaken. The second player's form is strickly chen tai chi old system.

  • laojia erlu

  • The second performer looke like he was doing shaolin quan and taizu chang quan.

  • Chen old 83 long form is a thing of incredible beauty, power and if necessary, viciousness.

  • Chen Old Form is 64 in my book, and this guy sensibly missed out the middle sections with the double jump in. But still lovely to watch.

  • taichi today is not mainly for self defence purposes,it had been modified in some part

and it is really good for people especially the elders

it had been proven scientifically that taichi improves balancing and movement of ages people.

this would prevent aged people from falling etc..

  • Also, some other medicinal purposes have been found like slightlty increased ability to live longer, strong base strength of the legs and some others.

  • I used to practise Chen Style TaiChi. Man its hard compared to Yang Style

  • This is true martial art. Where a fighting style trancends itself from a fighting form into living physical poetry.

  • @chushinryoku totally!

  • music is still great and the vid ... awesome indeed !

people like this can push without pushing you ..and without you knowing what the hell happened ;)

    Zaijian ! Richard

  • yes old man

now thats the way to do it train hard and live long or sit on ur butt and say im old and complain this man's got the right idea :D

    good stuff 5 stars man

  • Great video. I hope I move that well when I'm that age!

  • ditto!

  • No need to have a master from China, 'cause China (unhappily) also has its bad teachers (especially from "shaolin").

  • I wasn't sure what you meant by bad teachers, esp. shaolin. I'm fairly new to all this, so if you could give me some insight, it would be most welcome:D

  • Shaolin temple is now a matter of tourism, and since 1960 China lost several wushu masters due to communist policy. Now those who are designated as master are mostly sport trainers and tourism demonstrators, not really martial art masters. Fortunatly several masters came to USA or Taiwan, that's why we can find good tai chi professors even in US or Europe. A bad master is a guy who looks like a master as we imagine (white beard...) but who couldn't offer something else than beautiful movements.

  • I agree, there are many so called "masters" out there, but luckly I've got great masters here in Sweden, masters who are real shaolin monks, people who truely understand the meaning of martial arts.

  • How long have you stayed in China and looking for martial art master? I guess none, so don't talk about things you have no fucking idea about. Dumb ass people had never lived a single day in China and yet they think they know everything about the country.

  • Such pleasant music and old warriors here, but there wisdom and movements are grand. I sure wish I knew people like this, around my area it's ufc this, grapple that, karate this, just heartbreaking you know. But when I move friend trains with a guy who was banned from shaolin temple, long story actually I'll get the name and comeback.

  • Learn Taiji from DVD ?

im glad to have a master in several styles , taught in China .

I just started again after doing taiji for 7 years, got my first Chen Style sraight sword lesson ...

Basically just waving around trying to keep up with the group haha

    was fun though!

  • what is the name of the music?

  • oh wait! i take that back!! with his timing . . . he is tricky. I didnt see it at first, wich is perfect!

  • you can tell that he is not used to being filmed when he does this. in the quick glances to the camera he breaks his focus and the timing is off. He just needs to drop his awareness into the earth instead of putting it towards the camera

  • pretty amazing~~~

  • that scares me so good. i heart taiji.

  • can anyone tell me if there are vids on qing sen pai taiji quan? its one of the most unique wushu techniques. its main temple is in sichan on qingchen mountain.

  • anybody knows where i can learn this style in malaysia or a step by step dvd?

  • hsing-i. com they have videos of chen taiji, bagua, and hsing-i chuan. they are taught in english. there are many others too...i've heard chen xiaowang has a set of videos. also chen zhenglei has a set with turtlepress . com

  • Numero uno questo Maestro!

  • I agree, when my gong fu skills get that good, I would like such a great beard.

  • He is very old!!!!!! but his motions very young!!! but even he has his beard. by the beard of zues, i swear one day i will have a beard like that.

  • what fascinates me, is that the silk-reeling becomes internal/hidden. But the form is still absolutely perfect.

  • Chen is amazing. Thanks for sharing this video. See where we all will be after 70 years of practice!

  • Truly an inspiration.

  • Dear Sir / Madam, Thank you for this video , this old masters are from chenjiagou are they ?may i mention that the old style is more apprently linked to shaolin, there internal skillz are great, fa jing awesome. thank them from some of the younger families students

  • fantastic

  • very impressed ... thanks !

  • The best thing I've seen on utube. See Master Gou kongjie for style like this. The erlu paochui was something else - especially wrapping the crackers - loved it.

  • cool

  • What a great vid, thanks for this. These guys are amazing, I hope I'm that agile when I'm 80!

  • That's inspritaional man...

  • Id be chuffed if my beard was as good as these guys when I get to 80, let alone my tai ji

  • I'm so impressed when watching them punches, fast and straightforward. Particularly for Er-lu Paochui, it is amazing that an 80 year-old man still can perform like that, just keep moving, jumping and punching. Really great.

  • wow, very nice! thank's for sharing.
