This soundtrack is dangerous. Every time I start listening to it I eventually have to install the game and finish it for the 342643426 time. And EVERY TIME I find out something new about the plot/characters.
@enyvl yeah that also. I just replayed the game recently and the dialogue is insane and is what really makes this game so great. played through this time as a mostly evil bastard and made a civilian beg for her life and then snapped her neck anyway lol. one of the lighter things...I was a badass mofo. amazing game
i play Dragon Age 2 and question myself while playing it, why its so boring and repetitive and why i dont play such games as Planescape Torment or Baldur Gate instead. I wish some competent people would make continuation to those series, those were much better RPGs
Creating a game like Planescape: Torment or even a new Baldurs Gate (with the same mechanics as the old parts of the series) would be just unprofitable for the devs since the gaming industry has changed a lot and games with advanced mechanics or a very deep story aren't that popular anymore. Everything in the current's gaming industry has to be FAST, has to look SUPER AWESOME and has to have as minimum story as possible so that it attracts a larger crowd.
@Matrimelee Go play Neverwinter Nights 2 Mask of the Betrayer. The game is written by the same guy as Planescape Torment (Chris Avellone). That game (actually an expansion to the original NWN2) is the closest thing to Planescape Torment that exists. It's awesome. Go play it.
This is where I believe that game is not only an entertainment, it can also be a piece of art. An art that we can search for the nature of a man, if we can precieve it in an other way.
@michaelomundo Let's see... Little Big Planet (PS3) can be art. Braid (XBOX360/PC) has a well-refined art style. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) is a piece of art as well. But that's not what you mean, is it?
best game ever! this is the only game that teaches people something useful and interesting, it's not just about some stupid combats like any other rpg.. PT 4EVER and EVER
@Humakt83 that your actions have consequences. Its too bad Planescape: Torment was the last of its kind - quality interactive fiction, with great voice actors & musical scores.
@birdsterboss that lesson should be easy enough to figure on your own IMO. Anyway while Torment is definitely a great game, it is far from being the only or last one of its kind.
Care to argument on why it's not the only or last one of its kind? Because I don't agree, they just don't make games like this anymore. Only Mass Effects have come close.
@pekkka1989 While Planescape Torment is indeed a great game, one of the best really, but it is not flawless. Combat system leaves a lot to be desired IMO and there are game-crashing bugs. Besides, most people remember Torment so fondly because it has an excellent story in an unusual setting. Story is only a part of a game, it may be a whole of a book, but games are a lot more than just a story.

@pekkka1989 I've heard better music (The Witcher EE, Baldur's Gate, NWN 2 Storm of Zehir), seen better graphics (like most modern games) or art style (which is subjective), had better combat (Dragon Age, The Witcher EE), had better storytelling (Betrayal At Krondor). Only thing that's not surpassed in other games that Planescape Torment has is the unusual setting of the game but even then games like Arcanum comes close.

@Yeandrus Preferences and Freedom of speech have nothing to do with it, this is simply about practicality and politeness. If you write in English more people will understand what you're saying. If one writes in a different language much fewer people will understand. If we each talked in our mother tongue there would be utter chaos on Youtube, imagine 100 comments in 10 different languages. If he doesn't know English though, it's perfectly acceptable.
Lol you are argueing about the language you use ? Isnt that a bit pathetic, since there are no "rules" saying, its only allowed to write in English, Danish, Polish or German or whatever other language there is, gee, guys, cool down
@GwynTirth Well to be fair, it shows. Quite a few of the songs still has that distinct Leitmotif of the game. Not saying that's a bad thing, just that your point is made a little obvious.
Don't talk about things that you don't understand, if you want to know what am I talking about, just translate it, if you are too lazy, just don't complain coz 3/4 comments are in my language.
I'm not complaining. I'm simply trying to illustrate how annoying it gets, when everone sticks to their own mother tongue. If I write in Danish, for example, only 1 out of a 1000 users on youtube (or less) will understand what's going on. If I keep it in English, maybe 19 out of 20 users will understand and therefore be able to participate. See my point? I'm sure you do.
I see it but why you stick to me, when there are 2 other comments in my national language? Thats why i am wrtining in my own language, coz i see other ppl from my country, and no-one in other. If you go on some other videoes, there are also comments in other languages. And it is also simple, if I am writing in my own language, maybe I don't want people from other country to know what I am writing about. If you want to know just tell me that and I will translate.
Am I healthy if TNO's bodytype is my opinion of ideal?

This theme sums up The Nameless One's adventure.
First the gloomy part when he wakes up in the mortuary, confused and lost,
then the hopeful part when he makes progress,
then the up-beat part with the climax
and last the tunig down, he have found himself, ended his immortality and passes out.

Palantarian's point is valid, writing in anything else then English will reduce the number of people that are able to understand your comment.
"maybe I don't want people from other country to know what I am writing about"
There are private messages for that and translators make this a moot point.
"Don't talk about things that you don't understand"
"If you are too lazy"
Here you go around being presumptuous. You do nothing to explain why one shouldn't write in English if one knows it.
Katalmach 1 year ago
@Katalmach
Geez.
He is not English, so maybe he simply prefer to write in his own language? How will you feel when someone say you:
"-Stfu noob, Don't write in English 'cause it's Japanese movie! Are you idiot?"
Please don't take this verbally, it's just an example.
We're free(for real?) so We can write/think/say anything what, how and why we want.
Sorry for my bad english. I don't want to fight, but I can't be silent when i see comments like this.
