Prince, at 2:45 that opening is called Caro-Kann opening and it is known to be one of the strongest openings for black.

Also.. just take the bishop, he cant attack your king.. also you could counter it with your strong play on the queenside... just pointing out

When you took his "free" bishop with your queen, he could have taken your queen with his knight, if im not mistaking. It is around 8:05 or so. But you were already so far ahead it woulden't have mattered, but yeah that AI is stupid as hell.

No, no. I would never get mad discussing games or so on.

I was just expressing my point of view. But since i'm an old chess player i think i went overhead.

But many strategy games picked up from chess or other table games:

-Quare grid

-Turn based

-Special abilaties for each type of piece

And so on.

Anyway like i said i don't play that much chess anymore. Right now i prefer games like "total war" or "end war" in the RTS genre.

Kings can atack while in check.

The problem was: if the king took the queen then he would be taken by the pawn. So it would be sucide.

Suicide in chess, moving king to an area under atack by enemies, is forbiden. Even tough he could take the king it would mean he would enter the pawn atack area.

You are also forced to move the king if he is atacked. By any means necessary, even sacrificing other pieces, the king must be saved if possible.

That is a rule.

You must save the King. No suicides.

Anyway the AI is brain dead. I just rewatched and saw that at 8:04 you moved your queen to his cavalry range (you tought was the king atm) and he missed the chance completely.

Well, keep in mind that I was also confused by the appearance of the pieces, and that I hadn't played Chess in years. Also keep in mind that it took you multiple viewings to see me move my Queen within range of his Knight. It's also very distracting to talk while you're playing a game. =)

Well, at its heart, "Harry Potter" is really just a role-playing-type game. Wizard's Chess is really just a mini-game so I'm not too surprised by the lack of chess knowledge on the AI's part.
