  • You can get a IFAK w/o the molle pouch for around 20-30$ on e-bay with a C.A.T in it. Which is good considering the C.A.T. can run that much itself. Then get a surplus IFAK pouch for 5-10$ and add a few other things. Or buy the complete IFAKS kit on the same web page for 50-infinity$

  • I prefer duck (duct tape/100mph tape) instead of 1st aid tape

  • good advice, i was expecting some expenisive hi tech stuff like quick clot

  • @poleun9 just keeping it basic. QC isnt the best thing out there. And honestly, there's a ton you can do with knowing how to apply pressure with items shown in the film and not( 4x4's,ace wraps, roll gauze etc). Train with what you have and know how to use it, not only in your ifak/fak but with any of your gear/kit.

  • Can't the izzy bandage be used as a tourniquet in a pinch?

  • its called a pharyngeal ( FAIR - EN - GE- EL )

    :) good vid

  • For your compress just go to the store and buy a Pad for extra extra fat women. Those things are huge and I expect they will absorb lots of blood.

  • V.O.K. is not a generic term, it is a product name...

  • @garry0wen if someone renames the wheel is it not still a wheel ...

  • I am an Emergency Physician and must sat I really respect you for emphasizing training in your video. I've seen visors out there with life guards hauling around STOMP II bags full of equipment they don't have a clue how to use!

  • I got a PUR 35 desalinator

Only thing in the world that lets me pump fresh water from any water source.

Even removing salt from sea water.

  • i know a guy who taped his tourniquet 2 the stock of his rifle, always handy

  • All the classes the Army teaches that I have been in teach to use pressure dressings, tourniquets, gauze and nasopharyngeal airways. Its rather simple stuff but when you mix combat with first aid it gets a little stressful rather quickly! Last but not least the naso airways hurt a little more than you can think... I am not doing that unless I have to ! haha

  • where would I get training for this at?

  • i have a huge advantage ,im an emt if i need supplies i go the ems supply room :-)

  • Tampons?

  • @Rugghead98 I've been toting those for years in my FA kit on campouts and floats. Cheap, sanitary, and very absorbent. Plus they make pretty fair scent wicks for deer season.

  • its kinda boring. sorry

  • Am I the only one that thinks that middle bag at the beginning looks like a

BIG FOOT mold,LOL. Great vid thanks!

  • Thanks for the info. Looking to put together a basic kit. No idea where to start. This helped. Def going to get training as well. PEACE!

  • $60.00 my dam kit was almost $300.00

  • Quick tip: veterinary medical supplies are often less than half the cost of the "human" supplies and are the same thing. Example Coban™ is called Vetrap™, I can get a 4" roll for just over 2 bucks as opposed to 9 bucks and both are made by 3M. Go figure.

  • The perfect example of the K.I.S.S. principle.

    Good job!

  • nice 5***** and always remember the less is better

  • nice vid although there is not many items i like at the $ store the one by me actually has some decent medical supplies you can build a nice kit for $10

  • This is why I subed a long time ago!! Simple,Cost effective,Basic,Short and to the point!! Some people think that the new,hi-speed,fancy named,OVER PRICED,is the only way to go!! Guess what they are WRONG! I know this from experience! Glad to see the new vid, thanks for posting, please keep them coming!!

  • what level of training is required to use such items. is it on beyond first aid/ CPR? or would a basic course cover one pretty well?

  • to be honest the more training you have the better. I have gone through several "basic" FA classes over the years and recently ( last year) went through the red cross FA ,CPR,AED course's, along with a CLS course 3 years ago. Even with that i feel under " gunned" if i was to have to treat a major GSW or trauma. I build my kits around my skill limits, with 1-2 extra items for "buddy aid" and that's it. Like everything else you need to train and practice.

  • @thors200 All the items in the kit can be used with vary basic to no first aid skills. But training does help even basic first aid or a first responder class. If your tight on cash just buy some books and read/study them at home.

  • @thors200 you can pretty much learn how to use a kit like this from watching vids on youtube. Hard core first responder can take more but recognizing a gunshot wound and very basic triage is just a youtube away

  • A bicycle inner tube is a cheap tourniquet

Often free in the trash of your local bike shop. These work very well in pinch, as

I have used this in an emergency out on the road. A lifesaver.

  • Short & sweet? dude, you took 10 minutes to list contents of a bok. You have some potential man, but if you're open to some constructive criticism, keep it shorter and simple. Check out ITS tactical - they just assembled a premium blowout kit and explained the contents, - (not perfect but far better use of time)

So if you're just listing contents to save money - short man.

  • thanks, I'm aware of the time issue. I seem to go over everything twice. Guess from so many folks asking questions of stuff we already said twice, it's hard not to try and drive a point home,so it doesn't come back to you as 200 emails asking the same question 8 hours after a movie is put out . Thanks for the input, it is one we are working on.

  • invest in gold, silver and lead. store food and water,....

  • I never see anyone putting any pepto bismol tablets in their kits. This item is vital as drinking contaminated water could give you nausea, diarrhea and pepto bismol or something with the same effects is a great product. Also space blanket, cough medicine & antihistamine is good to keep. Good vid, I make my own kits, its a fraction of the price of pre-made kits.

  • Pepto bismol, cough meds and antihistamine have no place in a blow out kit. A space blanket is useful for managing hypothermia in a trauma patient, but it like the other items you list belong in your ruck or larger medical kit. You don't want a ton of crap in the way when you are trying to rapidly manage a life threatening bleed.

  • this is not a general first aid kit. Please note that he says to get training on the use of such equipment several times.

  • Delta, where you been fellow? Make a vid every now and again and keep spreading the word.

  • There is alot to be said about keeping things simple. All these crazy names for first aid kits and such is getting quite retarded. Thanks for keeping it real.

  • The level of sarcasm sounds like you have a beef with someone who makes blow out kits.

  • Not really. Im not stupid enough to fall for marketing. I have built all my kits ,most with the same items that are in "bought" kits for 1/2 the cost. I'd rather spend 40$ on a kit than 80$ and use that other 40 for food preps or towards a F/A class. If someone wants to drop a large amount of money into a kit vs building one that is totally up to them. I'm not here to change that, only show a different option that is open to our viewers.

  • well said!!!

  • Thanks for the video.. Keep em coming

  • don't forget the quick clot Medtech has a new "cool" formula

  • great kit and on the cheap

  • I take an "Izzy" when I hunt also.

Saw a neat idea a while back (can't remember where) and have started using it. If you're going to get shot, chances are (murphy's law) its going to be dark, so if you package a chem-stick (small one) with your bandage and keep it in the same place (upper chest pocket) you will at least be able to see what you are doing when you try to plug the newly acquired hole.

Thanks for the important money saving tips!

  • Can't wait for more videos!

  • Glad to have you fuckers back great video!

  • Haven't seen you on in a while. Ya have to make more. Did you know you are the one that got me started in BOB's, Food Storage and Jet Stoves.

  • Excellent presentation.

  • Curious...why is it called a blow out kit? Is it just basically a trauma kit? Nice video though, I found it quite useful so thanx :)

    5*

  • @sassylindalou yes, normally it would be called a trauma kit or individual first aid kit, BUT many online "tactical" vendors make their own prepackaged and sealed kits and patent a name, this is why you get blow out kits, ventilated operator kits and oh shit kits that are all basically the same thing.

  • well said HKZ......gotta build a UOVK( uber opertaor ventilated kit) to one up em ' ;p

  • To hongkongzorro, thnx for the info. I find that there are a lot of new names for things on youtube :)

  • Great video.

  • 5***** from a longtime fireman

  • That extra $40 is a charge for being stupid and not making your own.

  • great ty

  • No offense, you gotta cut out the editorializing and just give the basics. You`ll keep more peoples attention. Give more useful info and stop fidgiting.

  • He's not as bad as nutnfancy...

  • Not trying to be him.....i'm not that....high speed LOL :P

  • Thanks
