The VH-60N is preferred for trips outside CONUS because it's easily air-transportable on a C-17 or C-5; the rotors of the VH-3D have to be disassembled before it can be loaded on a C-5, reassembled and flight tested before POTUS use. When used on the West Coast, the VH-3s are flown across the US (a two/three-day journey each way). The aim is to replace the two models with a single VXX type.

No there's 2 decoys. They always fly 3 Sea Kings whenever the President is flying.

@Silkysmooth915 Actually, 2 of the sea kings ARE decoys and those aren't CH-47's. They are CH-46's. The president always travels in three identical helicopters. Either the VH-3D or the VH-60N. When in flight, the 3 identical helicopters perform a dance of deception called "the presidential shuffle game". You are correct that the CH-46's carry staff and press etc.

I actually live next to Stansted, and saw Air Force One land and watched the fleet of helicopter fly to london over my house.

It has also been mentioned in the news prior to his arrival and live during his arrive at Stansted
