  • Such a great comic performance. Even from the start, the way she says "Good afternoon Professor (slight pause) Higgins" and becomes pleased with herself to momentary distraction for properly pronouncing the "H" is perfectly hilarious.

  • i love when he puts the teapot on his head

  • Lol that horrendous grammar and that hideously funny pompous accent!! ahh love it

  • she's so beautiful...

  • 2:49 everytime i watch this fall in love with Freddie all over again.....

  • "Done her in?"

    "Yes. Lord love you."

    LOL

  • Freddy I luv u ^^

  • i love how Pickering is responding XD

  • Wow Audrey Hepburn was a great actress, she should have won the oscar

  • did anyone else notice that she said "straw" hat? Only a common person would wear that hahaha! The rich people must have wondered.

  • I love how for all Eliza's slip-ups some old woman manages to out-common her with one slurred 'Hazntit saddnly tahned CHILLEH?' (0:43)

  • 1:21 gets me everytime xD

  • Audrey's talent for comedy was marvelous! She was like a living cartoon in this scene!

  • As much as I love Audrey Hepburn, I have to admit I preferred Wendy Hiller as Eliza Doolittle in Pygmalion, 1938.

  • My favorite scene is MOVE YA BLOOMING A##

  • My favorite scene in the whole movie.

  • LOL Prof. Higgins little jig

  • lol i love how higgins just starts dancing when eliza says "the rain in spain stays mainly in the plain" lol inside joke for them :P

  • I love Jeremy B rett...the perfect English gentelman

  • and what become of her new straw hat - what should have come to me?

  • Lol. This is hilarious!

  • I love how Henry reacts to her behaviour in this scene. I would have hid a long time ago.

  • Now Fi, a rather chirpy member of the team with whom I get along like a house on fire, today we were discussing how her voice has deepened – not that it’s changed since I’ve known her – but apparently she’d once sounded like a chipmunk. She knows my feline fiction (cat stories) better than anybody, and now I’m dying to go up to her and say in Eliza’s refined, ladylike tones, “My cat would do the radio if you was recorded!” I just don’t know how it would be taken …

  • I like role-playing. The world is such a confusing and complex mass of paralinguistic and prosodic features (facial expressions and body language, vocal intonations etc...) that it becomes difficult to remain consistent in how I use them anyhow. Lately I've been mimicking members of Additional Support while I've been at college, and they laughed out loud at their 'reflections'.

  • somebody... pinched it.

  • I love her accent and crazy lilting tones...I think I've spoken like that.

  • im doing dis play at my school (yr 6 show)im curnal pickering >.>

  • Wasn't she beautiful.

  • Remember the horses...

  • Her shouting done her in.

  • Her father tipples often.

Dictionary word of the day: tipple- to drink intoxicating liquor.

This scene got me saying "done her/him in" regularly!

  • "That's the new small talk...gin was mother's milk to her." ~ THAT IS SOOOOO FUNNY!!!

  • I know! It's Jeremy Brett!! Decades before Sherlock!!

  • @tenorlord right! :D and eliza almost becomes the next mrs holmes~ :D

  • 0:21 - 0:30 makes me happy.

  • When I try to speak "proper like" I sound just like poor Eliza in this scene! So now, I don't even bother... Wonderful scene though.

  • God love Cecil Beaton! awful man, but brilliant designer. His clothes are timeless & make Eliza's moments even more precious.

  • Just brilliant!

And, if only women like Audrey were much more common, and not in the sence that the Prof would disapprove of lol

  • Shess sooo funny! I love Audrey Hepburn and all of her movies...and I'm only 16!

  • here, what are you sniggering at?

  • "Have I said anything I oughtn't? LMAO that was hilarious!

  • this is my favorite outfit of all time

  • I love Audrey so much in this movie, even if she was a controversial choice.

It's Rex Harrison I cannot stomach.

    Blaaaannch!

  • Oh my gosh i love this movie!! i just rented it to watch on monday!!!! :)

  • It's funny because Audrey Hepburn never actually spoke this way! LOL Her natural speaking voice was like that of Eliza at the end of the movie. The way she talks here sounds so hilarious and more like Carrol Burnett

  • That's very interesting trivia.

  • drank? my word something cronic!

i love this film, i love audrey hepburn :) xx

  • wow.....

  • Yes, lord love you!

  • It was almost embarassing to watch XD

I love this movie to death!

  • @GerardwHey Was it uncommon for upper-class Londoners to ctach diptheria ??

  • But it's my belief that they'd done the old woman in

    haha!!

  • i'm confused - what does "done her in" mean? death? @@;;

  • I can't believe its Jeremy Brett!

  • them as pinched it, done her in

  • One of my favourite scenes of the whole film - Jeremy Brett is so sweet in this :D

  • man i wish we got to see more of his face in this clip - im sure his reactions are priceless

  • His face after Eliza's just shouted 'Move your bloomin' arse Dover' is brilliant!

  • "Yes, Lord love you."

    HAHAAAAA!

  • I LOVE this scene!

  • thankyou so much, I have to play Eliza in about a month and have been looking for this clip everywhere! Thankyooouuuuu

  • Along with all the experiments that Eliza goes through, this is my favourite scene because of the way she's forcing her voice out, it's hysterical. She gives Parker from Thunderbirds a run for his money. :p

"Well if I was doing it proper, what was you sniggering at?"

  • Brilliant! My favourite clip from the film ' and when she came to she bit the bowl clean off of the spoon......' hilarious
