  • at 5:05 dude iced it!

  • @Dewkoh, the choir combined two other African American spirituals with "Ride On King Jesus". Those songs are "In That Great Gettin Up Morning" & "Ain't That Good News". I featured this choir in my pancocojams blog post "The Directing Styles Of African American Gospel Choir Directors". That post also features a video of In HIS Presence Choir singing another rendition of this song, & 1 video of Rev. James Cleveland, the Chicago Mass Choir singing other songs, Google that title. Peace!

    Love it!

  • I used to love it back in the day when you had that one soprano hit that high note

  • @bkmustang07 THAT VOICE AT THE END WAS A MAN.

  • This album really helped me during the early '90's when I first heard it!! Getting saved, going to church in hartford ct....growing, getting healed!! Wild

  • WE GONE SING THIS IDK WHEN

  • WCMC changed ma life. Ernie introduced me to recording. I was just a Tenor but I learned so much. Now I'm a minister of Music and a studio owner. My Kids get a real kick of Seeing Uncle Lem and I as kids ourself..... Front n Center! Little did I know..... How much I was Learning.

  • Amen choir!

  • This is a Great song, No matter how it's Presented. I've heard it Sung by " Half Asleep choirs & Very excited choirs, Both have their place.

Scripture says: Make a JOYFULL Noise unto the Lord. Please don't be afraid to show Some Excitement when singing to the Lord.

  • Oh the Good Days. I can remember...I want em back! lol

  • classic LOVE IT

  • The organ was okay Willis Hickerson is a multi-keyboardist. And at that time that this was recorded most organist played a jazz style organ which is much different than what we play now

  • 3:20 wass soo hott

  • ARRIBA ALIANZA !!

  • they need a better hammond organ

  • Ya'll really blessed my soul with that annoited singing. Shouting and praising God is all good but sumtimes we need that real worship and that ministering of song 2 our spirits and this chior did jst that. God bless u keep up the good work for the Lord.

  • the organ on there sounds real daul, it does not sound good, they should had a B3 Hammond organ or C3 hammond organ.

  • The point is the lyrics, the worship, the praise that breaks forth, too many times people get caught up in the "music" rather than the glory.

  • no the hammond organ needs to sound nice no matter the music matters to people if u play bad in the COGIC u get kick off the organ, the organ was a bad sound.

  • So again you're saying the MUSIC takes precedence OVER the lyrics, praise, and worship? So I'm assuming by your standards when the music stops, the praise stops too. This is why "church dominations" have no place in the building of God's kingdom.

  • i did say that i said that they need a better hammond organ if they had a better hammond organ it would sound nice.

  • "no the hammond organ needs to sound nice no matter the music matters to people if u play bad in the COGIC u get kick off the organ, the organ was a bad sound...." this is what you posted in response to me, AFTER I said it is the lyrics that lead people to praise and worship, and that it is all for the Glory of God.

  • If I may interject Nothing takes presidence over the praise worship and lyrics but the instrument is an assistance and should have a good sound as it will inhance the atmosphere.not to mention a production at this level should be done with the spirit of excellence

  • I understand the "spirit of excellence" however when people become so focused on the music then their praise and worship becomes hendered. If it's all about the music then let it stant as an instrumental.

  • that is true,

  • when i was young we use to sing this song and tear the church down.

  • soprano at 5:00 killed it!!!

  • OMG!!!!!

I literally yelled when I saw this...this brings it back..thanks so much for posting this.

  • Wow ...now this was OUTSTANDING!!!! Very different and on point...

  • Does anyone have the music to this? It is awesome. I know "Ride on King Jesus" but never heard the 2nd song......

  • oh no!!!!! may i inquire how? thats so sad. he's on all my vids, u kno? altho i never met him, its still a shock to hear of the death of people...and he looke dyoung too.

  • Ha! Yes, indeed. The ultimate soul stirring song.

  • Can someone please tell me what the words starting at :28 are?

  • It says: In that great gettin' up morning

Fair thee well, fair thee well

  • WHat are the word to the last part of the song? something like "take it home to my jesus and I got good news

  • It is another song..."Take it home to my Jesus, ain't-a that good news." lol, but that was a nice try.

  • see now.. DIS was Choir music.. LOL.. yes.. dis a claaaaaaaaaaassic y'all.. Yall betta sang dem off note false notes!
