  • Ok, can someone please answer a question for me? I've seen so many professional cake artists (on this show included) put fondant covered cakes in into a refrigerator. I've done this at home and it nearly wrecked my cake! The condensation and whatnot. Is there a solution to this or is it because it was my home fridge instead of a commercial one??

  • @rubyslippersparkle22 Not a professional myself, but on another of these shows I saw someone put a cup of baking soda into the fridge with the cake to absorb the moisture. It probably also helps that they don't have anything but the cake in their fridges: the other food in a home fridge probably adds a lot of moisture to the air. If pressed, I'd try putting the cake in an airtight container with baking soda or a similar moisture-absorber in with it.
