Em has been mixing writtens with freestyle (some heard some not widely heard) since he was battling in Scribble jam and freestyling on wakeup show up until now. A LOT of emcees do it. Do you have any idea how many memorized used and unused written verses the average emcee has in his memory bank? One technique emcees use to get the freestyle going is to begin with written segments and intermittently mix with off the top lines.
